Many great seventies memories attached to this one....Bitter sweet. I lost My friend in 79' Whom loved this album. I miss Him alot, Especially when I hear this record.
@wvumab I love how offended people get by comments like this, for some reason they're to stupid to realize that nowhere does it say "Good Comments", I can say whatever the fuck I want, and if shitty ass Eric Clapton comes up in the related videos and I want to stop by and voice my opinion then i can, welcome to the internet.
@nonicknamekid2010 I'm not offended by your comment, I'm amused by it. I will never understand why, If you don't like Clapton, you are even watching the video? Just looking to piss people off? I would assume by your channel that you are at best a prepubescent little boy who comes home from school and plays video games all night, and jerks off to mommies Glamour magazine.....so yeah....you opinion isn't too important to me. Just makes me laugh.... someday you'll learn what real music is.
After all these years this is still such a sweet song. I remember being 18 and making love to this album, fumbling around in the dark like the kid I was with the turntable and her bra, Clapton's voice mixing perfectly with her perfume in my brain. Jesus, that was so long ago...
I will always love the blues style Clapton possesses but this remains one of my all-time favorite Clapton songs from a period where he was really into Don Williams' music and style. Then again, I've never heard a Clapton song I didn't like. I named my son Clapton!
I think e.c. is at his best in songs like this: simple, sad, reflective and sung in such a melancholy way its almost heartbreaking, a la river of tears...nothin' but love for old slowhand!
@romano9174 while i agree with you about how Clapton songs like this are very nice, Clapton's true calling was and always will be blues-based rock. all you have to listen to is Derek and the Dominoes' Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs album to hear the masterful guitar stylings of God himself (and Duane Allman) =)
One of the best "Make-Up" songs of all times. After a fight with your lover,.. light some candles,.. put this song on,.. say you're sorry and that you love her,.. and embrace and rekindle the emotions.
I'll be doing just that tonight,.. Love you Kim,.. I'm sorry
Pretty sure he's only been married twice,.. Only divorced Once,... to Patty Boyd. Still with his current wife of 5 years. Of course he had 2 kids with that Italian model while he was married, dated Sheryl Crow and others, but only married twice,.. divorced once
@enekofc I like 'em both. I thought Clapton recorded this first, no? This came out in '77 and Williams' version in '80. Might have been written by Bob mcDill.
@Snufferson Actually,Don WIlliams was credited for having wrote it,but I can see why you might think Bob mcDill because he wrote practically every one of Don Williams' hits and he even said it himself that Bob McDill made his career.

...there are times when I don't see the light.
I don't know if what I do is right.
But when I'm wrong, it's never meant for you,
So don't confuse my love with what I do. ;)

Agreed,romano9174!I might be one of the few people to say this, but I was not a fan whatsoever of his Unplugged album, but Slowhand is very underrated!
