  • WOW i have been saying that Meditation in the way that it is currently taught will NOT lead to awareness, and often to the opposite, and i have gotten attacked by so many different kinds of people for this. THANK YOU Terence.

  • This is Glorious!!!

  • Could listen to this man for hours.

  • @TheStrossus i actually do

  • @TheStrossus ditto... ... ...

  • @TheStrossus

    I do.

  • Wow - I love Terence McKenna & listen to him all the time. However I am surprised that he never realized the emptiness

of Shakyamuni Buddha. He makes a huge mistake saying emptiness

is nihilism -that is a completely wrong-view according to any highly

realized Buddhist master. Emptiness & cognizance are unified

throughout infinity. How could there be emptiness without wakeful awareness. Infinity is why Buddhists speak of the unborn. Nihilists

say there is no truth=self detonating truth

  • @Starwheel

Even better about emptiness is that it is karmic, based off of our previous mental projections, and shaped in the future by our current ones. This is the real beauty of the idea, is that any one, anywhere can change their future and reality by planting the appropriate actions of body speech and mind. That it starts with us, and no one can make the change except us!

  • @hellyalee

I like the description of the mind as a projector, and the world we see/experience is the blank screen, and we are just a tad bit behind on what we are viewing. If you want to change the world you have to change the projector. You can't get mad when someone screams at you, because you projected them in the first place! In fact getting mad and screaming back just creates another mad screaming person (or other unpleasent situation) to deal with in the future. So simple yet so complex.

  • @Starwheel6 I totally agree with him - the concept of emptiness implies that you are empty! Emptiness will invariably lead to nihilism and the feeling that life is devoid of any real substance

  • @CalumnMcAulay Having experienced emptiness personally through the practice of meditation, I can say that seeing emptiness does not lead to apathy. It is actually an experience quite contrary to what you would think: liberating.

  • Yeah thanks pal, most of his speeches on youtube have annoying music that is also too loud, yours is perfect.

  • Thank you for uploading
