  • i remember watching queen on live aid, and not being a queen fan i thought this is going to be a boring 20 mins or so, how wrong could i have been? they were easily the best band of the day by far and since that day i have become a massive fan of the band

  • so and i know what u wanna get of me

  • RIP Farrokh.

  • you go Fred, u go my luv

  • so I got everything you need

  • To Stacy91.. Oh darlingThanks for the Terrific laugh! I believe that was Exactly what our Darling boy was thinking when he pulled this show off :D

  • Oh that's the secret! The old fashioned know who you are performing for (knowing one's audience), song choice (hits that everyone around the world recognizes) and rehearse it like heck for the twenty minute spot given with no playback or soundcheck rules before the gig!

Why they were so spot on that day! :D

  • i found it amusing that freddie was smoking in the video, mainly because of the fact he was able to smoke and still vocally outperform the shit out of everyone else.

  • @stacyy91 Yes but the end of the day, Freddie was gay, and the name "Queen" is the most gay name possible for a rock band. That will always count against him in the very masculine world of rock music. On every Queen YouTube video, there will be lots of people talking about his sexuality and calling him a faggot. That is just the way it is and will always be.

  • @KillPeopleForFun83 Back in the early 1970's the word Queen was not associated with anything gay. Freddie respected the British monarchy back then and he liked the name. He found it regal, simple, classy, he liked the short name. The word has evolved since then.

  • Fantastic as usual, mind you the audio in that theatre is terrible!

  • I mean lives on

  • Freddie mercury lives o

  • 0:08 save her from that racoon on her head!!

  • 3:31 turn on the subtitles :'D

  • What a legend .freddie mercury is 1 of the biggest legends of all time. thanks for posting.

  • What a guy

  • Freddie at 3:23...lol, of COURSE no egos!

  • My, my those are some short shorts Brian :P

  • The only negative is about this, is there's no part 6... god dammit.

  • @MrPatchesPal And how prescient too. They have only gotten worse. What they did to the Dowler family is just beneath contempt. Murdoch = Evil.

  • Ahhh the 80's...gotta luv that girl's MULLET!!!

  • UN MERAVIGLIOSO COLPO AL CUORE! INDIMENTICABILE!

  • Long Live Queen!!!

  • They did something else no one else did that day - they rehearsed.

  • Freddie was an absolute legend and the rest of the band were also extremely talented musicians...a perfect storm but they transcended the normal bounds of musicianship by their ability to capitvate huge crowds. Live Aid was their finest hour and they made it look easy but practising is a lesson that Led Zeppelin learnt the hard way. RIP Freddy the world is a lesser place because of your absence.

  • 18 minutes just needed to change world music. My respect for them. R I P Freddy Mercury.

  • Brian is wearing denim cut-offs because the temperature was 95 F. on July 13, 1985.

  • I love their reaction at 3:25 when she says 'there's not meant to be any egos involved' ... LOL!

  • does anyone know why Brian is not wearing trousers?? lol I wish i was born 10 years earlier to experience Queen at their height. I was born in '89, 2 years before Freddies death :(

  • also Im daddys little girl

  • These guys have never really known just how earth shatteringly talented they were. You would have to got to a Queen gig to know what I mean. I stood in front of Freddie once. As for the British press. I had an orgasm when the News of the World closed down. If i could i would chase down every single person who ever worked for them and pore petrol over the cunts and burn them.

  • 03:19-20 - looks like simon cowell!

  • 925 million hungry people in 2010

I really want to donate through a charity that Bob is involved with or runs

and also post links around the net to help.

does anyone know which is the best and most trusted charity to support?

    thanks for help.

  • Where is part 4 :(

  • @167marvin After part 3 and before part 5 dum dum!

  • What's with all that sexual orientation sh**?!? we're not in 14th century for God's sake..- stop it! they are/were great band, Freddie is still probably one of the most carismatic singers/persons of 20th century.. those are the facts, all the rest doesn't matter so f**k off if you don't like him/them and stop trolling around their videos!

  • why the arrogance about Turkey? stupid drummer.. you and your arrogance.. nothing to say more.. always challenger always..

  • @TC1923TBMM So are you saying that Queen or any other rock group could play or have their performance broadcast in Turkey 26 years ago?

  • @Yo1969Yo It doesn't matter years ago or present time. We face the same arrogance everywhere and every place. I think it's official in europe. As I said before, who cares? We always challenge..

  • @TC1923TBMM Well I care because what you called Roger Taylor was uncalled for plus you still didn't answer my question. I knew exactly what Roger meant. Please don't spin things. You need to show respect to a great musician. Next time use your words wisely.

  • @Yo1969Yo Nothing about being wise. Pure arrogance. That's it.

  • @TC1923TBMM I'm asking you to choose your words wisely. There was nothing arrogant about what Roger said.

  • hihi i'm ur Lady of Night ..and i know what u wanna get of me

  • I herd that the band Queen is actual gay all the members I herd that on a rock station? I just wanted to see if that was true even if they are I still like there music.

  • @Setheru87 Which radio station said that? Queen isdefinitely NOT a gay band. Some narrow minded people perceive Queen to be a gay band because Freddie Mercury was gay and as he was the most prolific and famous.Look at how popular they are on mainstream radio stations. The other 4 members are all married and have kids. Such songs as Killer Queen and the video for I Want To Break Free are camp in their style, but listen to Stone Cold Crazy and you realise they are very much a solid rock band.

  • At 2:18 they all looked at each other like saying "oh fuck, they know".

  • Best performance of the entire Live Aid concert.

  • Who'd have thought these four very modest gentlemen would turn out to be the greatest rock band ever.

  • @Highlander01 I agree. To me that is part of the charm, that they are really pleasant, eloquent and friendly looking blokes who happen to be able to do the most fantastic stuff on stage. They mention "egos"; I think they are confident enough that ego doesn't really play much of a part, they just know they can do their stuff. And so do we...

  • And play they did...

  • Great footage. Pretty sure the original BBC videotape footage no longer exists and is now lost. Well done to Oberon1966 for archiving this stuff.

  • Brian.... Those shorts are exceptionally short.

  • It's incredible... You hear him talk and you would never tell that he was such a great singer

  • This man can command audiences through music...

and sorry about those DISLIKES,,,they're my neighbors!

  • well.......it was only the best rock concert live of all time........voted for by the musicians at the time......so i suppose it was pretty good lol

  • Freddie and his epic mustache is missed by millions everywhere

  • BRAZIL MISS U FREDDIE, ON ROCK IN RIO!!!

    FOREVER...

  • LOL Brian May pantless at 4:56-5:04

  • this is hilarious it seems like they did end up crushing everyone there that day. lol

  • @ Tommyfazz - are you trying to take the piss? He was born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar and his father Bomi Bulsara was a High Court cashier for the British government there

  • Where did Freddie get his accent? I thought Freddie was a miner's son from Burnley?!

  • @Tommyfazz Freddie was born Farrokh Bulsara. He was Persian. Wikipedia him :)

  • @mwink Yaa correct. Freddie was a Parsi born in Zanzibar (Tanzania) and grew up in India until his mid-teens,,,

  • Roger Taylor on the drums is just as powerful!

  • watching this now i look at the date and my mum was my age when she saw it live on her television she still loves queen no as much as she did then i'm glad i should end up like that. i'm so glad she brought me up with the music of queen!

  • "Everybody will try to out-do each other, but we're just going to go out and play" I think they did that pretty well. WOW

  • @Kpd222 and definitly outplay all the others especially bonno :D

  • love brian's stance @ 4:56!!! lmao!! and also love the short-shorts!!! ;D

  • 3.13 Turkey ..... ?

  • I love Queen, but... wtf is up with Brian May's hotpants? :P

  • I went to his house at zanzibar on vacation! never knew he was born there

  • @Samiosamio111 You went to his house in Zanzibar? How did you know it was Freddie's childhood home? How did it look?

  • @Yo1969Yo My dad already knew he was born there because hes a queen fan, we went to zanzibar to visit my siter and came up with the idea to search his house. Which was pretty easy to find. Its just a small house like all the houses there its located near the sea in stonetown. It isnt a popular attraction for tourists thats why it looks pretty normal, but it was a great feeling to know one of the best singers crawled around in that house!

  • lol freddie looks like a bbc documentary host here, gotta love him

  • I love freddie! The music is amaze! And you can totally see Freddie Mercury's penis.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING? DONT SCROLL DOWN!!! URE MISSING THE VIDEO!

  • Love it one of the biggest bands in the world and they were always so humble.

  • @MrPatchesPal I think it was Murdoch's papers that hounded Freddie to his very last day Murdoch papers have no respect for anyone parasites I hope Rupert Murdoch's empire explodes and disappears just like the News of the Screws

  • Freddie was sexy as hell.

  • ESA MIRADA 2:57

    Y SU SONRISA 1:41Y 3:14

  • ESA MIRADA 2:57

  • I think the only time I've heard Deacy talk is during an interview when he was asked if he could meet any historical figure who would it be ("William Burroughs, so I could learn about the experience of drugs without actually having to take them") When they asked Freddie he said, with no pause, "Marie Antoinette". Asked what they would talk about he looked suprised, as if it was obvious. "Jewels!"

  • I cannot believe Freddie could be a smoker, and still belt out chords that are godly. Just imagine if he didn't smoke. They would have to return people's souls to their bodies. I'm a smoker and I sing, so I speak from experience. Knowing Freddie had that crutch and still amazed me.

  • hah..they sound so humble..but look at freddie closely.. he feels ' i will fucking own the show' and sure he did..that voice reached everyone at wembley!

  • 1:12 lars ulrich WTF?? ;p

  • GO TO "FREDDIE MERCURY 20TH ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE CONCERT" PAGE ON FACEBOOK. READ WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO AND "LIKE"

  • Brian's got such a nice smile (3:26 to 3:43 especially).

  • The rest of the band were lucky they had Freddie Mercury as their Lead Singer and their PROTOGANIST of what was to become "Queen" the best Rock Band that I've ever experienced.. Freddie Mercury is incomparable...

  • 1:18 go deacon, go!

  • Awwwww! Just look at Brian, isn't he the cutest guy ever? ;) ^_^

  • I photographed Queen over 2 nights in Canada in 1977. To see the shots go to ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • @hunter90210 daisy dukes at that!! Lol!! Gotta love the '80's!! He could wear whatever, but can play like nobodies business!!

  • John Deacon is the greatest bassist...and maybe the quietest as well

  • They came, they played, they took names AND KICKED ROCK N ROLL HISTORY IN THE ASS!!!!

  • @10b23d93c While wearing short shorts :P jk brian may is the best

  • 0:27 Nice hair.

  • Freddie was trying so hard not to blow that smoke in anyone's face. That & another habit had ultimately taken him from us leaving no WBC in his body to fight it. I feel like snatching the cig.

  • little did they know they'd give one of the greatest performances, ever.

  • He's shy, that's so cute !

  • I still think Brian May is the best rock guitarists to ever walk the earth...what are the odds of him meeting up with the most powerful rock singer to ever walk the earth?

I guess it is the opposite to "shit happens"

  • @dudewheresmy6string It was destiny. :)

  • @dudewheresmy6string It must have been 'A Kind Of Magic'

  • Lol, look at Brian from 1:20 to 1:28

    *blink - blink - blink* :D

  • @DrMaybrianna And those shorts! 4:55

  • Thank you Oberon for posting all of Queen's set at Live Aid. I remember the day vividly and Queen stole the show. There was a sense, a feeling of the entire world uniting for a cause and that feeling was enhanced even more when Queen were playing. It's hard to describe, but that's the emotion they elicited that day. Thank you so much for the chance to relive it.

  • 4:45 somebody said a mouthful...it's not about the extravagant backdrops "it's about if you can play or not! They should tell that to the pop stars that think they can sing, which is 100% of them.

  • @EllSieMovies This is just my opinion but I have to say a yes and no in reference to MJ getting a bad deal from the media. The US media loved the Jackson Five and also Michael. The US media started to turn against Michael when the surgeries started to happen and his strange behavior. A lot of it was of Michael's own doing.

Queen and Freddie got a bad deal from the US media from the very beginning and Queen never did anything that deserved the bad rap they got from the media.

  • Awesome band

  • @EllSieMovies Freddie & Michael recorded three songs together around 1983.

    1. State of Shock

    2. There Must Be More To Live Than This

    3. Victory

My understanding is that all three will get a wide release. Victory has never been released, not even on youtube.

  • Leave your opinions on sexuality for one moment and just listen to this man's amazing voice. Freddie was Godlike, he commanded the stage and the audience with pure authority. He was such a imposing figure, and at Live Aid, he and the rest of Queen showed why they were and still are the best rock band ever to grace the planet.

  • I fucking hate gay people but It's not like I'm out to kill them. I can live with them just don't like them BUT i'll take it in the poop shoot from Mr. Fantastic him self Freddie Mercury any time!

  • @co0LAide Why do you hate the people? I could see if you hate their sexual activities, but why would you hate the people? A person's sexual desires do not define the person.

  • I'm not gay and don't partic like it, but can all you gay bashers please FUCK THE FUCKING FUCK OFF.

  • I love vid 5/5 - shows behind a flawless world class performance is a hard working gigging band that doesn't leave a performance to their ego and reputation, but practice, practice, practice, work, work, work, so they all fuse into a sound machine that knows each others cues - and deliver perormances with AN END - thank you for bothering to COMPLETE each section. FAN-TAS-TIC. (May & Mercury?!?! what an odd pairing. How does THAT work?!!?!??.... (Solid back line bass/drums)

  • 2:02 "Mmph"

To any gay guys that want to know what it sounds like to have Freddie Mercury sucking your dick, you're welcome

  • Farrokh Bulsara....the world is a darker place without you... glad I grew up in the 70's and had a chance to see Queen live..... ! Left my first concert a little in love with .Freddie a voice as close to perfect as you get a sexy, beautiful soul I will always miss his presence.,Brian May guitar master, Roger Taylor amazing drums and that falsetto! John Deacon great on the base and wrote some of Queens most memorible songs...4 brilliant men who were a perfect fit. Much thanks for the MUSIC!

  • According to some of the lame comments regarding AIDS and the Legendary Freddie Mercury...

    Known Facts

AIDS is not restricted to homosexual activities

A person private life is his/her own...and there is no correlation between musical talents and an individual's sexual orientation

    Females also have anal sex

Realistically despite a person sexual orientaton - I believe that I'm should not be judging that person based on their sexual orientation...

  • so part 5 is really part 1 and part 3 is really the end of Queen's set, lol.

  • I love 1:36 - 1:43 , I love how they just smile.. I love that ;D

  • And 2:15 - 2:19 they just like all talk idk lol

  • OUT CLASSED are u joking ha ha queen were amazing fredddie more so and the shit they call music now in the english charts ha ha ha its not worth pissing on if it were all on fire its little LITTLE girlie music im embarrassed to call my self english since freddie died our music took a nose dive now its just puffy boy bands that dont play there own instruments and little girls wearing next to nothing sounding awfull the music now well its not music is it just a screached lol queen were wow AMAZING

  • @adidentable Hey,don't feel too bad music isn't doing any better over here in the States. At least you guys had Freddie.

  • @adidentable Hey,don't feel too bad music isn't doing any better over here in the States. At least you guys had Freddie. That can always make up for whatever crap you may have to take credit for now.

  • If you listen carefully to most of Queen's lyrics, Freddie seems to be telling the story of his life. "Put a gun against his head, pulled the trigger, now he's dead" ...is he talking about getting AIDS here? "Momma, life had just begun, but now I've gone and blown it all away"...Freddie was more than a the average person...a God? Maybe!

  • @scottwin7 hes not talking about getting aids hes talking about giving it to someone. but good ear

  • @scottwin7 No, he's not talking about AIDS, until his later songs. He didn't contract the disease until the early to mid 80's, so any songs written before that would have been talking about other things. Of course, some of his later stuff was very much to do with his condition.

Such a shame that the medical profession didn't have the wherewithall to combat the disease in those days like they do now.

I think he was full of regret for the life he could have lived later on. Much the same as me.

  • @edmame What you said about Mack is corrrect but Mack also claims that Freddie was tired of the gay lifestyle. This is also around the time when Mary said that she and Freddie discussed having a baby. He said he would rather have another cat. Haha. Sadly by 1985 it was probably already too late for Freddie because some people think he already had HIV but didn't know it.

  • Comment removed

  • @edmame If Freddie were alive today I don't think he would care about any of the hoopla referring to gay issues. He lived his life privately and his few trusted friends said that it was never a topic. The only thing that mattered to him was his music.

And like some else posted, Freddie did command the stage like no other. His talent was all he cared about besides his family of course. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @scottwin7 Bohemian Rhapsody was way before he contracted HIV/AIDS.

  • "......we're just gonna go out and play...." Yeah, and blow every fcuker else off the stage.

  • who fking gives this a thumbs down? divots.

  • Freddie smoked - ?! Wow. Didn't seem to hurt that amazing voice, though.

  • @lyleinbangkok

No he used to hold a cigarette in his hand but he never breathed them in and then he stopped doing it.

  • @Crime1234management

    Ah. Understood. Thx.

  • @lyleinbangkok Freddie was exiled by Gods, We were just lucky that he landed on Earth.

  • @Nazteh

    True!

  • @Nazteh truth

  • 仲良いよね、この4人

  • albo źle widze albo Freddie ma tu obrączkę od Jima ? ich muzyka nigdy nie umrze. zawsze będziemy cie kochać ;)!!!!!

  • Look at his eyes! He SHY! Oh, gosh! Someone like HE can shy?! Omg, he's even better than I thought. FREDDIE, WE MISS YOU SO MUCH!

  • @vano110 Freddie was very shy. So cute and sweet. This is what made him so great.

  • How do you like Brain May's short shorts? Styles change, yes?

  • How do you like Brian May's shorts!!!

  • u mean a shy queen lol but a great singer/song writer

  • I love to watch Roger drumming. He's considered to be one of the world's most influential rock drummers; he plays numerous instruments and wrote four (or was it five?) of Queen's biggest hits. He's an amazing talent... of course, all of Queen were talented and brilliant. They had to be, to be able to stand on a stage with Freddie Mercury.

  • @tich302001 I was surprised to discover he was a smoker as well. He actually had polyps on his vocal chords. But he didn't get surgery, because he thought it would ruin his powerful voice. Same reason he never fixed his teeth.

  • I love Brian's short shorts :D

  • Freddie Mercury was in a league of his own, something you just can't compare.

  • Brian has a great smile, and freddie rocks!

  • Is John Deacon the worlds quietest Bass Guitarist?

  • @EmrysOfBijou actually, i think it may be Mikey Way from My Chemical Romance

  • @EmrysOfBijou

No is the second one. The first is John Myung of Dream Theater

  • @EmrysOfBijou nah id say John Entwistle but Deacon could qualify
