Someone said "ask a Canadian" about the Canadian healthcare; I did, usually they love it. Even Canadians that don't like their healthcare are terrified they may get stuck with the predicament I am in; uninsured. I had good insurance until my job got yanked.
Unfortunately, many Americans believe the lies about the Canadian single-payer health care system coming out of the Republican noise machine. Unfortunately, the Republican party is not working in their interests, but only the interests of the big health insurance companies.
WATCHER71B: one or two of the commenters have been strident, but after watching the outright lies about the Canadian health care system coming out of the Republican noise machine, I can understand a level of frustration.
Make your point in articulate and concise way that doesn't involve abusing the person you are addressing.
Then again you probably know this already, you are probably just a Troll
Seriously though, learn the art of civil discourse and turn down the aggression otherwise you will continue to be a very tedious person & I for one find you boring not because of your opinions.
I HATE how America has been brainwashed into thinking that universal healthcare is something that makes you a "communist, facist, socialist bastard...."
You have to wonder how these people even manage to drive or work. Seeing how they can't even identify political partries that have virtually no affiliation with themselves, whatsoever. I once saw a republican sign that said "I think, therefor I vote republican" at an anti-Universal Health Care rally...It nearly vomitted laughing, and disgusted
@huntmastab your so silly, how no your taxes are going to go up, wait if we do not have to pay for insurance anymore then it would mostly even out and you would not have to be paying for the profits of the insurance companies on top of the health care costs. Lastly you know you will be covered and not have to worry about fighting with the insurance company if you get really sick. your not looking at the big picture my friend.
As an American (and a Republican), it burns me up that healthcare reform has become a political football. I thought I had "good" health insurance until I got a chronic illness in my early 40's I had 90/10 coverage with a reasonable deductible. By the time my illness was controlled I had been in the hospital about a dozen times. I was nearly bankrupt, and depressed after dealing with the Insurance. 100's of hours on the phone and $20,000+ "out of pocket"! What if I DID NOT have insurance?
(continued) American healthcare is a farce. People who become ill and can no longer work usually lose their coverage. They say you have "COBRA" and can keep your coverage. $700+ per month when you're unemployed??? Don't think that your employer's coverage is gonna help you, even if you think you have a "great" plan. Talk to a trusted friend who's gone through a serious illness. US health insurance companies are raping us and all the $ they get is $ that actual doctors DON'T get...
I swear, as a non Republican here, you have ALL of my sympathies. I wish to God that this all to common occurrence had not happened to you, especially when you were ill. I pray God that you recover and never end up in that abominable situation again. People use this issue as a partisan political football and completely forget that we are talking about real peoples lives. I send you the most sincere good wishes and blessings and pray for your good health...

It seems a higher percentage Canadians are proud of their nationality compared with Americans.
