  • Frank Turner played this last night at the Phoenix, and had the entire room singing "there is no god!" It was the first time I've said this out loud... it was one of the most liberating moments of my life.

    Amazing concert.

It is a fair, clever and somewhat honest reprieve to damaging religious beliefs expressed in ways that are super damaging.     Lol, this tune reminds me of that.. Today I use the Freemason definition of a God, "The Divine Creator of the Universe" This can mean anything to anyone, to me the Divine Creator is a natural phenomenon, I don't worship a god or the big bang but I'm glad it happened..

What about the things that enters your mind and your heart?     That would be the delegates of the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention.

    Some were secular, some christian. But they all agreed that the law of the land should be free of religious influence. So it doesn't really matter what their beliefs were.

    Minimally, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin and Madison were secular in their beliefs. And like I said, their individual religions are irrelevant, since they all agreed religion had no place mixing with law.

  • @gregvok I dont think you get the concept: agnostic. Its simply that we can not dissprove that there is a god, and therefore we allow for the possibilety of there actualy being a god. Just deciding something without proof is like a religion itself. That said I do not act as a religious person, i have seen no proof/indication of a magical man in the sky and will therefore not behave like there is one.Imo religions behave very much like a virus and im in no way a fan, i just cant prove them wrong.

Since he is all knowing, he knows everything that has occurred and that will occur. Therefore, he allowed Frank to be born into this world KNOWING that he would become an atheist and write this song.

The question of faith lies in whether or not there is a god. Faith CANNOT defend blind ignorance. Faith and belief CANNOT defend the fact that an omnipresent god contradicts itself on an infinite (literally) number of levels.
