Thank you. This helped alot for my job, but is there a way to keep set animations in a clip once you've replaced it?
Example. I have my clip moving down and scaling up but I want to change the clip and keep the animations so I don't have to go back into it. Can I do that with the replace Edit?
Marcelo, here I am commenting on this three years after you posted it, but I wanted to say THANK YOU! I saw another video explanation that didn't work, but your explanation and multiple examples about knowing where heads are made it work along with her comments about noting the out point (really need the in point) made it all work. I'm replacing low-res, watermarked placeholder footage with the purchased HD version, so now knowing how to use the Replace Edit feature in Final Cut is great!
Good lesson. Is there any reason why you would not just place the play head at the beginning of both clips so there is no guessing about the middle? That seems to defeat the purpose if you are on a deadline of any type.
Great video, helped me alot. one question though, I have done alot of editing to 1 large audio file (an interview) only to find out its the wrong audio file (video is good). Can I replace the all the pieces with the new audio file keeping all the cuts I made?
God bless you Marcello. I've been trying to figure this out for ages and it's been driving me crazy! I spend my whole life listening to tutorials online, and yours is one the best: clear and to the point!

Also, I would have never figured out how to handle the warning about all files needing to be linked. THANK YOU AGAIN!
