Nice and Games -- Martian Panic [Nintendo Wii]

I just got this with the gun attachment included. This is a particularily amusing game, but it became extremely difficult toward the end.

I'm also a sucker for light-gun games, and this looks like a lot of fun, but my friggin' Wii broke. :(

It's the first console ever to die on me so I'm not keen on getting another anytime soon, but if I do happen across a cheap one I might pick this game up for a quick 'blast'.

@Quimbyrbg Your Wii broke? :( That's a shame. I think the only console I've had die is an Xbox (original.) Well, the hard drive died. I really am biased towards liking this style of game, but I do think Martian Panic is fun! Which you already know from the video. I think it's worth it, and it should be cheap hopefully -- it was a budget title to begin with. I also like Pirate Blast, in case you want another cheap light gun game. If you have a functional Wii that is. :)

You could be right about that man ( even though it's just your guess ) maybe the developers did do a demo of the game before the final stages of finishing the fully made game good thinking man : )))))))))

There is just one more thing that doesn't make sense to me when I saw the trailer video why didn't they show any life hearts at all on the screen were they trying to cover it up???

@skmusic Hmmm...I don't really know. I think I watched the same trailer, and it looks like there are 2 players playing, but there still should be hearts at the top of the screen (you share the same hit points.) My only *guess* is that the trailer was using a version of the game before it was completely finished? But that is only a guess, sorry I can't really answer your question. :)

i worked on that game, and we had a god-mode/unlock-all code programmed into it up until submission so we could easily test out what we needed. the footage was recorded while the code was activated.

Hey "niceandgames" when I saw the trailer of Martian panic I did not see any life hearts was the person playing on ace mode since you only get 1 continue per level ( I always have a lot of questions when I see a awesome shooting game for the wii )???

@skmusic The hearts are your hit points, and at the Ace level you have only 3 (as opposed to 4 and 5 on Ranger and Cadet levels.) And as you said just 1 continue per level on Ace difficulty. Plus the enemies are harder to kill. It's hard! :)

hey ''niceandgames'' this is the exact alien shooting game that I was looking for (see I've been trying to find the perfect alien light gun style shooting game for the Wii for weeks and nothing interesting until I found [Arcade shooting gallery] but I found out that it sucked so bad and what's with the mini games that has nothing to do with the game [my opinion] I guess most of the E rated shooting games are getting boring and lame) but now since I found this game its totally light gun action!!!

awesome. I haven't heard of this game. Props to you for the great recommendation! I really liked Destroy All Humans a few years back and this really reminds me of that game.

@SatoshiMatrix1 I never did get Destroy All Humans. But this game is good, in my opinion. As I said, I do really like this "light-gun" kind of game, and I think people who also are into those kind of games will probably find things to like with this one. It's not, say, House of the Dead: Overkill, but it's not meant to be. It's just a bright, fun, happy shooting game. :)

@dave4shmups Yeah, I guess I got lucky with this game, couldn't find reviews on it, but I thought the trailer or whatever video for it looked pretty cool, so I took a chance. And it paid off! I enjoy this game. :)
