  • less talkin', more playin'

  • Why do wah pedal's disable distortion from amps?

  • One thing with MXR/Dunlop pedals, the LED's can fucking blind you.

  • where do i buy that 18v power supply? and how much does it cost?

  • It seems to be just a regular wah pedal with a considerably larger price tag, some fancy lights, it's red and it sounds exactly the same. why don't you just buy a regular cry baby?

  • @JoeYY182 what you stated is only half of it. This pedal has built in distortion that the original crybaby doesnt have. its also true hardwire bypass

  • @Jungleboy867 Yeah that's fair enough but I got a BOSS DS-1 for £35 which still brings it under the price of this wah pedal :P

  • ...good playing, man, good review ! for me it is too soft in distortion ! i take my cb and will order Vai II , i think ? LES

  • what power brake are you using there

  • @VelhosNovos yeah, it is

  • Is the blue LP Gibson or Epiphone?

  • @NobleMoa its actually made by Dillion

  • this cost $135 from amazon with free shipping

    and i just order one

  • do you think that is a good pedal????

  • is it a vt50 that you are playing on? if yes, you have exactly the same amp like me :P

  • Caro, esse pedal é true bypass?

  • can it be used as a distortion pedal without wah?

  • @PickThe6Strings yes, but it sounds really bad.

  • @PickThe6Strings Most people don't favor the sound, however Slash used it as a distortion pedal with VR when they would open with "Let it Roll" and a few other songs.

  • Thanks for the great info

  • nice shoes :D

  • when this guy talks he sounds like kirk hammett

  • You Have to have the wah on to use the distortion, so no you cant just use it as a distortion pedal. Trust me, the distortion is only good through a tube amp anyways so if you're using a SS amp dont expect the distortion to sound good.

  • @DrShredGood

agreed, but even through a tube amp i wouldn't use it alone. I would use it only as a boost or something like that, maybe if you want to underline a certain phrase in your solo. But alone it sounds kinda crappy. whatever, this pedal rocks!

  • nice shoes

  • Can you have distortion without wah turned on ?

  • at 0:43... its a wah pedal as u see.... hahahaha no shit sherlock. i just thought that was funny.

  • Take classes man!! Yo are making it soun like a diying pig nor a Cry Baby

  • would be better with more identic sound of Slash . liek this guy has - /watch?v=7SeRQgTZR-o ( 0:57 in that vid ) . and also would be better with some better skills P

  • lol with left leg. O.o

  • its a great pedal and all but not for me i dont want to sound like someone else i need my own tone

  • 18 V ??? ridiculous...i recomend PW-10 Boss...

have inside, Booster, 7 diferents distorcions, vibrato, bass wah,Cry, Vox and Morley wah,Boss Voice Humanizer, and synthtetized filters calls Uni-vibe, the pedal action is not mechanic, is true bypass, 3 memories for 3 types souds adjusts.. 9V , and the best thing : less price...

    Boss is the boss...

    nothing personal to Cry baby...

  • Hi what song is this? thanks

  • @rickywarc its an orginal

  • such a bad pedal... the classic is much better

  • you sounds like chinese song! lol :-)

  • I have read a lot of reveiws that say that this has a bad hiss when the distortion is engaged. Being a big Slash fan I would like to get this but... not if it has a wicked bad hiss. Whats been your experience since shooting this vid?

  • @ElTone43 must admit, the hiss is pretty bad

  • do you have this song on mediafire,4shared some site where i can download?

    ty

  • @lulubaaaaaa to be honest, I only wrote the melody, using a backing track from my boss Jam-Station. Back then when I made this video, I just recorded it with a video camera. I'm thinking about making a more professional version sometime in the future.......... i appreciate you liking it though

  • Nice Song, u have the full song? its really cool!

  • @lulubaaaaaa thanks :D that is the full song

  • It's not pretty much the same as an original crybaby!! it sound better!! More bright sound, more bandwitch of the wave sound! Volume knob! gain circuit! 18Vdc is better!!!

  • could you use this for just the distortion without the wah effect? or would i be better off getting something like a tube screamer or blues driver?

  • @mattadam1613 you technically can, but it sounds terrible. Get a blues driver

  • @Jungleboy867 i agree.. the blues driver rocks! Speaking from personal experience! :D

  • Ok can I have some help? I have this really old wah pedal I got for free from my guitar teacher, it's a Morley Black Gold Basic Wah, but when I move into the low ends on it, the distortion gets cut off and sounds all muddy, would it be smart to get a crybaby in place they sound better than the Morley I have. Nice vid btw

  • 2:25 starts...

  • ew that "distortion" is utter shit.

  • @rockfreak611 no it's not... with marshall tube amp and if you dont put it too loud.

  • Dude you suck, but you have great equipment

  • i hate slash, but love the sound. lol

  • i think matt bellamy use the same...

  • Hey guys, I've been asking this online guitar store a couple of times if I can use a Leem 18-Dc to power this Slash wah. They tell me to buy an original Dunlop power supply. Is this because the dunlop is waaay more expensive or because I actually should use an original? Please reply someone

  • 1st. Just because you have a slash wah pedal doesn't mean your gonna sound like him

2nd. "it nothing special it just an ordinary crybaby" umm dude it different that why they sell it

    3rd. This isn't a good review

  • "Its the same as any cry baby" ummm NOT ITS NOT!

  • Can I get exactly the same sound with a DS-2 as with a DS-1? Please answer someone

  • @100misslm no, you cant make it sound excactly like this pedal

  • @DenKulesteSomFins ok thanks

  • Does someone know what the difference is between an Boss DS-1 and Boss DS-2?

To me it seems like the DS-2 is the Ds-1 plus the turbo ? or am i wrong?

  • the battery should last longer than a few hours!!!!!! I think you should look into that again mate. Should be more like 6 months at least.

  • @davedave99999 I think he meant few hours if you're playing on full load for the few hours straight

  • @davedave99999 When he said it lasts a good few hours I laughed my ass off.

  • @davedave99999 well it's probably because of the battery, i mean it's bad quality, that's why you buy an adapter.

  • @davedave99999 Must be leaving the instrument patch cable left in. haha

  • @Jungleboy867 which one would be better? Boss DS-1 or Boss DS-2 or are both bad? I don't have much experience with pedals : do you get The wires for connecting to The amp Ans The otter effect free or do i have to buy Thatcher separately?

  • @Jungleboy867 thanks for answering my question! :)

  • @Jungleboy867 okay,

  • If i want to combine a wah crybaby 353Q pedal with a distortion pedal to get this sound, which distortion pedal should i buy then?

  • @100misslm I don't know which one would EXACTLY reproduce the sound of the slash wah, but it would be something along the lines of something smooth. Basically, the opposite of a big muff

  • @100misslm The pedal has a 3 band pass overdrive distortion built in. So basically go out and buy a dunlop overdrive pedal (I think the overdrive III would sound best what you want) and do that. Should get basically the same sound.

  • @100misslm actually dude, I take that back. You might want something more smooth and nice harmonic responce. try out a MXR GT overdrive. But honestly, go to a shop and see what you think sounds best.

  • I want one!

  • You're a good player mate, but that pedal is fucking awful.

  • @Twaddlefish Personally i think its the other way around.

  • I want one, but dont have the money :,(

    ...poor college student...

  • sos una verga culiado!!!

  • The only reason it take 18 volt power is because it 2 pedal put together in one a wah and distortion

  • great videeo! i am going to buy it!

  • how did you get the minus one stuff?

  • @watchoutdab what do you mean?

  • @watchoutdab you know when you are playing your guitar then the music is on. I mean like guitar backing track. how did you get that? and also how did you get the great recording of that sounds?

  • first of all a pedal wont make you sound like slash. To sound like slash you have to be a FUCKING beast at guitar and own a vintage gibson les paul. So for all the newbs out there dont blow 170 dollars on this pedal thinking that it will make you sound like slash, actually learn how to play....... then blow 170 dollars on this pedal.

  • @parkin8r youre right, owning this wont make you make you sound like slash. but, what you need to keep in mind is that slash uses a whole array of effects to get one perfect sound. this pedal just eliminates $1000+ in other effects.

  • @beamband2 bullshit if you think this shitty fucking pedal will help you not sound like a pussy

  • can any one help me out, i have 2 wha pedal , as i connect guitar to cry baby wha than korg ax 1500 g processor than amp , is this how you supposed to set it up? because it dose not do much wha. eather of them dose not do much when i try it 1 is dime bags signature and other one is zakk wyldes. any tips will be much appreciated..

  • @1811214 That seems like an ordinary set up. If you are having an audio problem, start by making sure your wires and power supplies are connected properly

  • the distortion and the wah wah pedal sounds really like slash your great congratulations

  • Very infomrative, now I know I do not want this pedal, thanks

  • If you search Ebay or Craigslist you can probably fing an original Crybaby from the late sixties for around the same price. That's what I did anyway and I have absolutely no regrets.

  • does anyone know if i can get the same sound as this pedal if i just combine the original crybaby wah pedal with a Boss Ds-1?

  • @guitarcreep94 doing that is practically the same thing

  • OMG!!!!!! Ur shoes ar so gayyyyyyy

  • I have that vox amp. :D

  • Cool Vid Dude sounds good....Thanks for sharing!!

  • seriously, if u want to get a wah pedal/distortion combo. spend 70US on a standard crybaby or a vox and buy a distortion pedal with the 100 left over. u'll get a heaps better sound coz the slash wah gives wayyy to much feedback

  • Thanks for the video. It sounds really nice but I think I'll just buy an original one, I also have to get a new amp (any recomendations), and a new guitar... I'm about to be broke.

  • marshall 2x12 1000watt, its so good!

  • my dad has those shoes :P

  • nice tennis nike!!

  • DONT TALK! PLAY!

  • Nice pedal. But the Jerry Cantrell wah slaughters this one IMO. The distortion part of this pedal is pretty worthless. I like my amps distortion and I just push the pre tubes with an overdrive pedal. I like keeping things separated. Plus you can't use the distortion on this pedal unless the wah is on.

  • exactly the same sound like jimmy handrix one

  • nice shoes

  • I think Slash and hammett used the crybaby classic before having their own signature wah.

  • @momay69 hammett used a crybaby rack wah which was made out of diffrent types of wahs

  • do the distortion work with the pedal off

  • @360idol technically yes, but it's meant to go with the wah. Not reccomended to use just distortion

  • @Jungleboy867 I've got this pedal and the distortion doesn't seem to work if the wah is not engaged.

  • @utubetuna exactly. you press the distortion button, then turn the wah on, and just leave it like that. That is how you engage the distortion. sounds really bad

  • @Jungleboy867 yes, but at that point the pedal/wah is on (and at full treble, so it sounds terrible). Bottom line - the distortion does not work with the wah off.

  • H A L E L U J A

  • Dude, tabs for the 3:53 song? :P

  • @Gilignomo It's an original song. I don't have tabs, but thanks for liking it enough to want them

  • @Jungleboy867 that was amazing you should make a cover of that original song!!!!!

  • 5:53 why is it that your mouth is moving but no words are coming out... :s

  • @williamtrevormcneil I turned the music volume up a little too much. Listen harder

  • do u connect the wah to the amp?

  • Nice demo mate. Nice chime in the high end

  • The Slash wah is overpriced and total shite! its nowhere near as good as a RMC or whipple way! a modded basic crybaby or vox sounds miles better as well! and costs alot less

  • Sounds weak big time! I made my own wah lately with high quailty parts, its true bypass and I included a Whipple Inductor, if blows dunlop away! just go check out the whipple here on youtube and hear the difference

  • Sounds very decent. Good review, good playing, you've showed that it's a good thing, but you've also addressed the negatives, without pushing either side too much. You're leaving it to the audience to decide, which I like.

    Damn good review, cheers.

  • go to 2:17

  • hi mr jungleboy867, i perfer the ipod touch over the ipod classic becuase of the distortion

  • cool how bright it gets? it anoys the shit out of me actually.

the sound is pretty nice though~!

  • can you use the distortion with out the wah on? i have a marshall class 5 and you have to crank it to get drive so i was wondering if i could use this as a distortion pedal only at times.

  • @2smokesnifer well, you technically can, but it sounds terrible. The distortion was made for the wah. I wouldn't recommended it.

  • whats wrong with 18 v ?

  • @lilblackangus For me specifically, it is the only 18v pedal I have. Therefore, I need to have an additional power supply to operate it.

  • nice vid but i have everything plugged in and i play fine without it while its plugged in but then when i press down to activate the pedal the amp doesnt work and everything goes dead??? do i have something plugged in wrong or what????

  • @bukysanchez must be. that or the volume knob is too low, and make sure an 18v power supply is going to it

  • @Jungleboy867 the volume knob is up and so is the gain everything is plugged in along with my ds-1 distortion pedal the 18v supply is going to it both the red and blue lights r on, wen i press down the amps fuzzy type noise goes down and the guitar doesnt sound to the amp???

  • @bukysanchez thats strange. sorry, but idk what the problem is

  • @bukysanchez It may be the order you plugged your pedals... if you put Guitar - Wah - Distortion or whatever - Amp i think it's going to soun better

  • @bukysanchez it might be that you need a power brick. if u use a regular extension cord, power tends to go more into one system than another.

  • i don't think it was made so you sound just like him

  • Really good review man. One question though. Can you use this pedal as a stright distortion pedal? I mean can you have distortion on without having the wah effect on?

  • @Zas379 technically, you can have the distortion on and the wah pedal pressed down all the way, but it sounds terrible. I'ts not meant for just plain distortion

  • in aus it costs $400! why cant i get cheap stuff =(

  • @dudejoe64 Hey man i just got a schecter from the states$949US, i paid $986 AUS (im on the gold coast!) you should be able to get onto a music shop online dude, and with the way the dollar is now you cant loose!

  • what's that song in the first in the intro?

  • @toma96k just some random riff I made

  • same amp idd :d

  • I have this wah too!!

  • Thanks for the review, I was actualy thinking of picking one up but after the review I think I'l stick with my original Dunlop Cry Baby. 80 dollars more for an LED light and some subpar distortion isn't really worth my while.

  • same amp :D

  • Hey i just got this pedal (Love it) only when i turn the distortion on on the pedal it makes these really high pitch mess of a sounds without me even touching the guitar any idea what this could be? (i don't even touch the pedal either and it does this)

  • @XxX666newt666XxX yeah. it does that. i is a distortion pedal after all....... i would turn the gain know up and the volume know down for the best distortion tone. idk about the battery though

  • @Jungleboy867 thanks :D was just wondering xD managed to sort it out last night anyways x3 just changed the volume and its fine xD

  • I got my slash wah and tried to insert the batteries but now i have a problem ;/ the battery slipped back and is now jammed any help??

  • Good job mate! I've had my slash wah for just over a year and I stilll love it.

  • hey i have this pedal as well, i was wondering when you turned the pedal on, does your tone sound much thinner then without the pedal? cause when i play through my vox without it, it soundds rich and warm, but once i turn it out it sounds very boxy

  • @McScottson Well, its a wah pedal. The way a wah pedal works, is by thinning and thickening your tone back and forth which creates the wah sound. It would be impossible for it not to do that lol.

  • I have one of these and it doesn't sound like yours... The total sweep/range or whatever it's called, is really short. And when I slowly move the pedal up and down, it goes from high to low right away, it's not very even if that makes sense. I got it like over a year ago so idk if i'd be able to return it or anything. Any tips? And the distortion button can only be really loud. It's so much louder than the regular wah, it's really annoying.

  • i got one :D its fuckin awesome

  • wah wah costs 170 dollars or 170 pesos?

  • cool song,if anybody is looking for a killer wah,try the fulltone deluxe

  • is it possible to get an original distorted and clean sound out of this as well as a slash signature clean and distorted sound ?

  • @TOM71292 I dont get what you mean. You can turn the pedal distortion on and off, and you can also use the clean with your own distortion. Does that help?

  • just bought it for 99.99 used at guitar center and it is freaking awsome.

  • This is a good video. Informative without too much chat. Excellent. Well done.

  • what are your settings for the wah? i can't quite get the tone you are playing with

  • What is the name of your cover you played?

  • @PPZZAAFF its original

  • What is the name of your cover you played?

  • hablas demaciado conxetumadre y no tocai nunk !

  • dude you are honestly better off with the classic i regret getting the slash sig has a better sound to it i really wanna get rid of the slash for the classic :( STILL REALLY DIG SLASH THOUGH

  • that the music u played in the end it was sick!!

  • I don't get how people have such an issue, saying it sounds screechy and terrible, just find the sweet spot for your rig and it'll really help your sound! I don't get why people complain anyway, better to have the option rather than not at all isn't it? :) I've tried the original, classic and this, and this offers a much clearer and wider sweep, has higher sensitivity and achieves everything from Slash to Tom Morello easily :) I couldn't be happier with this pedal to be honest :)
