I'm not biased because I knew Twilight first and I used to really like the books and I only started watching the Vampire diaries two weeks ago cuz i was bored but now I can say that TVD is gazillion times better than twilight! The casts are wonderful and amazing actors. There's a lot of twists and turns in the story and it is always exciting to watch.

In twilight in the FINAL book Bella finally become vampire in vampire diaries in the end of the second book she became a vampire then she died, then she became a ghost, then a spirit and so one, and for the people that compares damon with jacob please I love them both but you have to accept that in whole season one the bad guy was damon and jacob is always good. And I agree with the clevertv girl why the fans cant accept that the two books and series and movies exist and enjoy them both.
We have to accept that in the basics they are similar. The vampire that is in love with human, and that the vampire eats animal blood etc... but come one the whole story is completely different. And for the twilight fans that think that the directors and producers of vd wanted to copy Bella style make a little bit of research, in the extra dvd of vd they explain that at the beggining they wanted a blond girl but nina dobrev was so amazing that any blond actress could do it better.

Also Twilight is so predictable I mean come on, when ever something bad happens you know in the end that the good guys are going to win and nobody dies. In Vampire Diaries ANYBODY can die I mean not just the evil characters or the minor character. I mean when they killed aunt Jenna I'm not going to lie I sobbed and cried. That's one thing Vampire Diaries can do that Twilight can't, they make you love and hate characters AND then make you cry like a little girl when they kill them off.
Vampire Diaries hands down, I mean come on they have amazing plot lines, and the dynamic characters are amazing. Also the fact that there is more violence I mean come on Twilight only had little wimpy fights. Also the romance between the three main characters is just so much more phenomenal then the twilight one. The one MAJOR fact is that it is not just based on the supernatural relationships like Twilight, Vampire diaries actually has human relationships too. oh and they are a hotter cast so.
I just find it hilarious that the Twilight lovers fight against Vampire Diaries lovers and in the end VAMPIRE DIARIES FANS PREVAIL!!! Firstly, the only connects one would make between The Vampire Diaries and Twilight, are that Stefan and Elena would remind you of Edward and Bella in a couple sense. Unlike Bella, Elena was not a rambling idiot who was so entranced by her vampire boyfriend he was all she could ever think about. Elena also being the smart one broke up with Stefan upon finding out he was a vampire. Where as in Twilight, Bella was like some skanky vampire loving fan girl.

i loved twilight, i didnt care for VD until i started watching it on netflix, and not only am i hooked on that show, but i feel its better than twilight. Elena is smart she doesn't just want to give up her life for someone when she is only seventeen, she has her whole life ahead of her and she realizes that she doesn't really know what love is, Bella she doesn't even consider it and the impact it could have on everyone around her. Elena realizes that she is just a kid and life changes also the whole cast is a million times hotter then the twilight cast
Okay seriously, Vampire Diaries is better then Twilight. I get that at the beginning it kinda felt like Twilight with the whole Vampire falls in love with a teenage girl and all that, but that is the only similarity. Vampire diaries has so much more complex characters. Also I love the fact that Elena is a more strong and confident character, in twilight when Edward leaves she falls apart, goes all depressed and thinks the worlds going to end because of it.

with season three i can now point this out: TVD shows viewers more than just lovey dovey teenage love, it shows the love of a family. I don't want to give any spoilers but the relationship between damon and stefan is so precious. TVD doesn't tell teenage girls to kill themselves when their boyfriends leave *echem, bella?*. Or to let their boyfriends control them and protect them while they watch from the sidelines. Elena? hell that girl handles a stake pretty well!

I have read both the vampire diaries and twilight. As far as can tell Stephanie Meyer ripped off the idea of vegetarian vampires from LJ Smith. Stefan Salvatore was a vegetarian before Edward Cullen was even a popular character. Although I might be biased because I am a Vampire Diaries fan.

I've seen Twilight and read the books I also read Vampire diaries books and watch TV series! And I would choose Vampire Diaries any day- both books and tv series are professionally done and are very good. And even, thought I like to read fanfiction with Jasper or Paul or Sam becouse Mayer could not develop characters, and some people out there are wonderfully taking advantage of it- books are rether poorly written and movie production is pathetic taking in consideration money they have on it!

I have to admit that I was a Twi-fan before, but Vampire Diaries, I have to say, is way more better. The story and plot's very exciting (absolutely the TVD God, it makes your head spin) the character's way better, too. They're more realistic (personality wise), and it's not always a happy ending. :)

Before TVD came on tv i was a complete twi-hard - mostly because i loved the books. Then I started watching Vampire Diaries and read the books and I realised just how cheesy and lacking the Twilight movies were. The special effects and acting in TVD is just so muh better and the characters have more depth!
I prefer Vampire Diaries over Twilight because the vampires in Twilight are uninteresting. In the Vampire Diaries, they don't just have vampires, they also have werwolves, kitsunes, and witches, and witches r far more interesting than Twilight.

I love both. I wasn't so sure about vampire diaries but I really did turn to like them. I've read all the Twilight books and I am on the 5th book of the Vampire Diaries, seen the movies watched the TV show and yes they have similar aspects but they are also very different and so are a lot of vampire things with mythical creatures and so on. People just make a big deal about this because they are the more popular series. I don't know why they have to make a deal about it but they do.

The vampire diaries' tv show might be better than the twilight movies... but regarding the books, seriously Stephenie Meyer kiks the hell out of L.J. Smith she's funny and some scenes are so well written they could compete with some of the best writers. With smith you just go by the book, you might devoure it but you have nothing left to get out of it other than the following part of the story and none of them are woth reading more than once.

Firstly, the only connects one would make between The Vampire Diaries and Twilight, are that Stefan and Elena would remind you of Edward and Bella in a couple sense. Unlike Bella, Elena was not a rambling idiot who was so entranced by her vampire boyfriend he was all she could ever think about. Elena also being the smart one broke up with Stefan upon finding out he was a vampire. Where as in Twilight, Bella was like some skanky vampire loving fan girl.

i loved twilight, i didnt care for VD until i started watching it on netflix, and not only am i hooked on that show, but i feel its better than twilight. I love edward and jacob, but Stefan and damon are fucking sexxy:) and i love the whole 1800's scene and two brothers in love with the same girl, and katherine, and the witch and werewolf. its brilliant:)

Okay seriously, Vampire Diaries is better then Twilight. I get that at the beginning it kinda felt like Twilight with the whole Vampire falls in love with a teenage girl and all that, but that is the only similarity. Vampire diaries has so much more complex characters. Also I love the fact that Elena is a more strong and confident character, in twilight when Edward leaves she falls apart, goes all depressed and thinks the worlds going to end because of it.

with season three i can now point this out: TVD shows viewers more than just lovey dovey teenage love, it shows the love of a family. I don't want to give any spoilers but the relationship between damon and stefan is so precious. TVD doesn't tell teenage girls to kill themselves when their boyfriends leave *echem, bella?*. Or to let their boyfriends control them and protect them while they watch from the sidelines. Elena? hell that girl handles a stake pretty well!

I've seen Twilight and read the books I also read Vampire diaries books and watch TV series! And I would choose Vampire Diaries any day- both books and tv series are professionally done and are very good. And even, thought I like to read fanfiction with Jasper or Paul or Sam becouse Mayer could not develop characters, and some people out there are wonderfully taking advantage of it- books are rether poorly written and movie production is pathetic taking in consideration money they have on it!

I have to admit that I was a Twi-fan before, but Vampire Diaries, I have to say, is way more better. The story and plot's very exciting (absolutely the TVD God, it makes your head spin) the character's way better, too. They're more realistic (personality wise), and it's not always a happy ending. :)

if you think about it every vampire story is the same, you have a brooding vampire (angel, bill, stefan, edward naming the most recent) and you have the girl they are in love with (buffy bella elena) throw in a werewolf theme (cept for buffy, they had demons) and some more drama near death experiences, fighting for your life etc etc.. lol its all the same bullshit (i love it all the same) who cares... but as far as content.. Before TVD came on tv i was a complete twi-hard - mostly because i loved the books. Then I started watching Vampire Diaries and read the books and I realised just how cheesy and lacking the Twilight movies were. The special effects and acting in TVD is just so muh better and the characters have more depth!

Meyer got most of her inspiration for her Twilight books from L.J. Smith.
The Vampire Diaries was definitely published BEFORE Twilight.
The first Twilight film, in my (overly obsessed Twilight fan) opinion, was a disappointment, as they missed out the blood scene... one of the best scenes in the book!!!
Vampire Diaries has failed to disappoint me.
I have to admit, though, the Twilight films get increasingly better as each one is released...

I love both. I wasn't so sure about vampire diaries but I really did turn to like them. I've read all the Twilight books and I am on the 5th book of the Vampire Diaries, seen the movies watched the TV show and yes they have similar aspects but they are also very different and so are a lot of vampire things with mythical creatures and so on. People just make a big deal about this because they are the more popular series. I don't know why they have to make a deal about it but they do.

The vampire diaries' tv show might be better than the twilight movies... but regarding the books, seriously Stephenie Meyer kiks the hell out of L.J. Smith she's funny and some scenes are so well written they could compete with some of the best writers. With smith you just go by the book, you might devoure it but you have nothing left to get out of it other than the following part of the story and none of them are woth reading more than once.

@mraskhuh lol I agree! Every character in Twilight couldnt match up to any character in VD in powers or in looks. Hello! Damon! I don't care if Edward and Stephen both follow the same diet. VD has made very clear that Stephen is not stable. And let's face it that is a lot more sexy. And Elena and Bella! Bella is weak in everyway and WANTS to become a vampire Elena is totally badass and doesnt want to become a vampire! Totally diferent ... characters ...totally different stories VD totally wins!

I used to like twilight, until i came up with the vampire diaries!!!! Now i really hate twilight, and all the people i know who used to like twilight and have read the vampire diaries or watched the show agree with me!!! Besides, Edward is boring and Bella is silly. Stefan and Damon are HOT, and Elena has a personality!!! My choice is definetely The Vampire Diaries!!!!!
