I raced gokarts that ran off of methanol and is sounded like any other briggs motor.. I was making between 12 and 15 hp with mine

you can get a 5 hp Flathead Briggs to 40 plus hp the most i have seen was like 50-52 hp but still many mini bike racers have Briggs that make 40 hp so why only 20

May be to impress you could jet it for racing fuel (ALCOHOL) as is fairly common, I have a 5hp briggs that is, along with blue printing and balance the motor, then you can have a nearly respectable lawn mower powered TURD!

And to @xMackan750x that guy check around before you come with the word, they do have (NITROUS OXIDE) for those little lawn mowing TURDS! I imagine they suck the life out of them faster than shit but thats about how it goes with TURDS! Everyday Shit Happens!

go read online a little about n2o and the nitrous in a bottle from edelbrock or nitrous oxide systems they put it in there on purpose so people dont huff it. @sada3393 N2O is laughing gas. it's used as an anesthetic in dentistry. it's also used as aerosol propellant, which is why people can get high from fabreeze. as far as sulfur i believe you're thinking of Nitromethane, which is used in drag cars. N2O is used as an oxidizer in gas engines the same way propane is used in diesels; It allows for more complete combustion thus producing more power.  and yes stock for stock 2t is more powerful (hp) due to the fact they have twice the # of power strokes.

after an accident on the track the frame was totaled but all but a few dings the engine was perfect. it runs on nitromethane. if you want to get technical it has 75+ horse power. but because of the gearing on the Kart i scaled it down to around 65-70 hp to tires...

@chrisross2343 dude 2 stroke has bottom end power.the reason why there is no 4 stroke chain saws.off a line the 2 stoke will go why? idles at 5 to 7k rpm's. tourqe band reaches in a 125 at 12k. takes about 4 sec to reach.on a 4 stroke it idles at 1k to 2k rpm and reaches tourqu at 5k.it takes the 4 stroke longer to reach its tourque because it not firing on every stroke.have you ever riden a 2 stroke?if you have you know its easy to just spin the wheels in all gears.

@chrisross2343 haha dude.a 2 cycle's 125 honda idles 4,500 rpms peaks at 22,000rpm's and has a power band at 11,000 rpms.now a new crf 125 honda idles 900rpms peaks at 5600rpms with a powerband at 4600.and still have something to say the 125 2 cycle is built for acceleration no top end.a 4 stroke is built for mid and top end because it powerband is closer to it peak!

The reason the idle sounds so bad, is because it's running on Methanol/Nitrous. Any engine running on that will sound like crap at idle, then smooth out at higher RPMs.
