if you want the video go into your macintosh hd, system, library, coreservices, setup assisant, right click and go show package contents, then contents, resources, then find transitionsection.bundle, right click show package contents if not on lepoard, then content resources, then you will find the video plus audio, just put both together in imovie and there you go! intro movie on your computer!!!

nope sorry to say soldierknowsbest. you're wrong in the begining. there is no such thing as a "upgrade" cd for mac. the onlyl version of Snow Leopard is the $29 one or the $49 one which of course is the multikey cd for 5 macs. The $29 cd is the full operating system of snow leopard, nothing else. it gives you the option to upgrade if you want..but like me, if you pop the cd in and restart, you can do a clean install by loading off the disk and going to disk utility to erase the hd.

You can do a clean install with the upgrade version of the disk. Boot to the disk, open the Utility Menu, and select Disk Utility. Select the volume, and choose "Erase" from the menu.

Once you erase the disk, run the install.

No leopard disk needed.

You can even install Snow Leopard on a Tiger system without having Leopard. Just do an erase and install, instead of an upgrade.

The license agreement wants you to purchase a full retail copy to go from Tiger, but that's a technicality...

There is only one version and one disk because apple assumes you're only going to upgrade so there isn't one marked upgrade of full.

There you will find intro.mov and intro-sound.mp3. Strange that they made it to files (at least for Leopard) but it works none-the-less.

to do a clean install with snow leopard! all you need to do is reboot your mac then boot from the installation dvd, after it loads you go to disk utility and re format your Macintosh HD, that would delete leopard completely. then all u gotta do is install snow leopard and it would do a clean install. you would loose all your data back them up before you do this.

this is not true I did a clean install and it didn't ask for my leopard dvd.

All you need to do is go to disk utility and do a Zero out data erase then all you do is install snow leopard.

its the Full version is not just an upgrade.

there is only one version of snow leopard with either single or group licenses.

Snow Leopard is just the Upgrade version of the old Mac OS X.

So, in order to have it, u must have a Mac to install and upgrade it.

btw, there's a "Mac Theme" for Windows..

..I'm using it right now.

It doesn't feel like a real Mac but, it just looks like it.

REMEBER: Snow Leopard is only the UPGRADE VERSION for the Mac OS.

If u want to try or experiment with it to ur XP, get ur USB and put the "Apple Software Update" to ur XP and try open that file to ur XP. It MAY install a Mac to ur XP. Just MAYBE! I'm not sure :P I never encountered that before. An also try going to the File's Properties for info about it.

probably the Graphics/Video card might not be compatible to some applications in your system.

I've encountered that on my Compaq-Vista Home Premium-Laptop, and the Video Card wasn't compatible with some apps like WMM.

So, be careful on buying it.

Be sure to ask the merchandiser on some questions if that some systems are compatible with any apps on Mac.

and also you don't have to do that whole leopard restore, then upgrade thing. just restart the mac and boot into the installer, and go to the disc utility and format. then you can install a FULL FRESH copy. thats what i did.
