  • my doberman 15 mounth ago. one ear is break (can't sdand very well) do you think is correct? thankyou

  • Thank you for the very good tutorial.

  • I regret to inform you, but that's a horse at the end of this video and not a Great Dane.

    Common mix-up, we understand.

  • @Shkolnikoff lmao. I was like "no... that's a Great Dane..." aaaand then I actually got to the end of the video. Completely understand, now.

  • Getting a new dane puppy on Saturday, this was really helpful!

  • Thank you much!!! I used this for my boxer and it came out very good :)

  • thanks for the vid... i have a six month old dane and her ears are pointing inwards.. i tried taping it but i made it the wrong way... this could deffinitely help her ears point upwads..

  • Wow steve dfw would making a killling in NEW JERSEY!!! i have to take my dog to the vet everytime to get it re-posted!!!!!

  • This video definately helped me out. My cousin is the breeder of my puppy and she directed me to this video. I agree with some people and the odor. My dog still has so scabs which become irritated when they are taped. How am I supposed to clean the ear with alcohol when there is a sore? Won't it sting?

  • OMG so thank you, i have a 5 months old great dane, and his right ear is down :( but the another one is up right now... i have to posting both .. again!

  • Should you start doing this from very young age, like 7-8 weeks or can wait until several months and it will still be effective?

  • Very useful video, the procedure is simple but effective, and it is very safe at the same time. Thank you, it helped me a lot with my Great Dane puppy. Before that I was struggling with it. By the way, beautiful white horse too.

  • nice video!! i watch them 3, i'll keep it in favorite, im getting my dane in 8-9week ( theyre supose to born monday) :) i wish she have a nice black one, he will do confomation with me :) thanks for the video!

  • no. It doesn't hurt. It's the same as putting a band aid on yourself. The purpose is for the ears to stand erect on the adult dog, thus creating a look of glamour and elegance.

  • @stevedfw

hey what if any liquid of some sort will enter my dogs ear? would it be harmful?

  • does it hurt them? and whats the point?

  • How much is the earcropped for the Doberman?

  • I just wanted to tell you that i have just finished watching your three part ear taping video's and i am very impressed! I was having a living nightmare trying to keep his ears taped because he kept tearing them down and i have tried many different methods. I did your way and it is still up today! How long do you have to keep them taped in general about how many months?

  • the basic concept is the same regardless of the breed or the ear length. In smaller toy breeds, you would have to get very small foam that is super light....you don't want the weight of the support to be too heavy for the ears. In some toys breeds that have naturally erect ears (not cropped) you can also assist them in getting up by simply taping and not using the foam support.

  • Can you please tell me why you change them after 5 days (not a longer or shorter length of time)? Thank you.

  • would this way also work on a pitbulls crop or would it only work dogs with long crops such Dobermans, Great Danes, or Boxers? please answer me back as soon as possible. Thank You.

  • thanks alot steve!!!Great help..hope it'll work with my dob too..=)

  • Thank you! for the people that say its cruel---we are circumsized for the same reasons! great help thanks again! My dobie thanks u

  • do u have to crop their ears to pst them ??

  • You need to take your dog to a vet and have it done. It is a surgical procedure done while the dog is under general anesthetic, It's not just a matter of chopping them off they are stictched on the edges and at the bell. NEVER TRY AND DO IT YOURSELF EVER!

  • is this the same for dobermans?

  • yes...dobermans would be taped in the same manner.

  • Thanks so much. I've been trying to figure this out from written instructions, but it's so much clearer when seen. Great video!

  • thank you so much for sharing this .. very informative,

would you post a picture of this dane today..we'd like to see his ears at the end .. :)

    thank you

  • Great videos,,mine were taped at the vets,,I know it wont last for 5 days till his next visit,,going to the store right now to get my supplies..your way looks alot more comfortable for the dogs...thanks

  • Great videos! There is nothing like the regal look of a dane with cropped ears.
