Charlotte can bite the big one for all I care. I can never hold a warm feeling for anyone who was so petty that the grudge they held against their dead sister was so great they they purposely stamped her books out of publication.
Why is everyone saying she's ugly? She looks so pretty. I visited the Parsonage for the second time today, and I think she's so pretty. She thought herself to be plain and too short at her 4 foot 10, but I think she was just a pretty little woman. Not everyone has to be astonishingly beautiful, 6 feet tall, with long legs and so on, to be beautiful. It doesn't work like that.
Yes they were sisters. emily died before charlotte after writing one and a half books. charlotte burned emily's unfinished manuscript, claiming that she wanted to prevent her sister from more bad reviews after her death. So Wuthering Heights is Emily's only novel we have. Too bad.
We don't know for sure that Charlotte did burn Emily's work. It is simply a possibility. Emily herself could have done it knowing the end was coming (she was very insistent on privacy could have been quite averse to leaving unfinished documents behind) or Anne who lived for another six months.Charlotte answered the question whether there any remaining work of Ellis Bell by saying it was nothing fit for publication with which she could mean the tales from the Saga of the Gondals as well.
Being a Sculptor and Portrait Artist classically trained in realism, I attest in my humble opinion that the two photos do align at facial points and structure. I believe it is the *same person and it is CB. Indeed, both paintings of CB - albeit by the hand of an individual artist and in the era's sentimental style - have physical features that match the resemblance in both photos. However, all composites of views appear to dissolve clearly into one visage - that of our beloved Charlotte.
I have visited this the Bronte house and walked through the cemetery and walked the beautiful dramatic landscape of Haworth and Yorkshire. I most compelling land. I fell in love with it and I shall return.
Thankyou so much for that. I visited Haworth myself when I was a child and found it to be very atmospheric. It is a truly amazing place, you can almost sense the history..Like stepping back it time.
At 08.40 "Is she here now?", "She is here now, in this church." Technically true, as she's in a coffin under the floor!

I could almost kill the woman who burned A. Bronte's hair. How could she be so stupid?

The man who claims to hear her voice so often seems a bit suspect to me.
