  • Bobby Brady at 1:06. The hard time I have with the movie relating to 9-11 is the sight of people jumping out of burning buildings. They didn't have too many choices.

  • I miss these days of movies. Just the opening of this puts the hair on your neck up!!. The simple preamble BEFORE the movie starts. It gets your blood going.. the SENSE of something about to happen... The drama.. THE SHOW!! All the great showmen like Irwin Allen are gone now. He understood what an audience wanted to see in a movie theater. I love that sense of... WOW he puts in this movie. Just a helicopter arriving to Frisco but MY GOD the anticipation.. the music!!

    THE MOVIES!!!

  • Because of this movie, my mom REFUSES to take a hotel room higher than the second floor. Can't say I blame her.

  • Lovely video. This was my all-time fav of the 1970s epic disaster films. Thanks for bringing back some memories of happier days.

  • OH......

THIS IS NOW ADDED TO MY FAVORITES !!

    very well done.

  • Tremendous film and acting. McQueen nailed his part.

  • @ballisticbliss And you nailed it about McQueen's performance. They don't have actors in this day's Hollywood like him or Paul Newman.

  • The Towering Inferno is a great movie. I have that movie on DVD I remember seeing on the big screen when I was a teen. You really have to see it on the big screen to get the full effect of if. It still is great on the small screen but it is better on the big screen.

  • Very well done! I loved this movie, too but like others have a tough time watching it because of 9/11.

  • Thanks venmus93 .

  • @venmus93 I loved this movie. McQueen should have had an Academy Award for his performance. But politics happens in Hollywood like anywhere else. He took Ali MacGraw away from Robert (Whoever), head honcho at Paramount and that screwed him for life. He also should have won a Best Actor in "Papillon". I also can't watch this movie without 9/11 being in the back of mind.

  • EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT tribute to this all time masterpiece ... was always one of my favourite movies all though I have to say that I now find it difficult to watch these days because I find that I really feel for those who were in the trade towers in the U.S ... Never-the-less this is a marvellous tribute to an all time classic produced in an error when effects were hard work and not CGI ... those days are long gone - unfortunately ...

  • Thanks booth2710.

  • I watched this Eight times, when it first came out. I can't believe how well you did this, those collectibles, and the rare pictures are

    unreal! Thanks

  • You're welcome Radicalreels and thanks for the nice comments. This wouldn't have been possible without those websites devoted to the film. That's where all the materials came from so credit also goes to them.

  • ..That was in response to cb46nep10

  • why didnt they blow up the water tanks before jennifer jones died

  • Beautiful video!

One of my fav movies too

  • Thanks RICKCAPRICORNUS.

  • Do you know this film is inspired in a true history? It's about the Joelma Building conflagration, occured in São Paulo-Brazil in february 1974. You may check in youtube. The images are real from the brazilian TV. The images crossed the world and Irwin Allen saw it too. Feel months after "The Towering Inferno" appeared. The Joelma building was reconstructed and today is called Edificio Praça da Bandeira(Flag Square Building) but no one wants to work or live there.

  • superb tribute well done

  • Thanks stoffs345!

  • paul newman and steve mcqueen rock in this movie. why is this movie very seldom on tv?

  • uh...there's this thing called "9/11" and it goes something like this...

  • Great tribute to my favorite movie! AND LONG LIVE THE KING OF COOL AND SEXY-STEVE MCQUEEN!!!

  • Thanks birdbaby3 for the nice comment.

  • Wonderful music, wonderful film, this is my favorite disaster film of all time. this movie has its scary parts like the people getting burned in the elevator, it's touching parts like the saving of the cat and the romance between characters, and its great action. wonderful film.

  • You're welcome muschnik1961 and thanks for posting.

  • More than 30 years passed by, but TTI is still today the greatest disaster movie. It has everything: Great sets, great actors (McQueen/Newman/Holden), amazing music from Williams and of course one of the greatest songs ever: We may never love like this again! I´ve been watching this movie more than 100 times (!) and every time is awesome! I think it was Irwin Allens greatest work! Thanks for this tribute!

  • You're welcome muschnik1961 and thanks for posting.

  • Nice tribute. When Steve McQueen's character comes onscreen about 45 minutes in, the movie takes a hyper-leap in excitement and heroism. Whole cast was superb, but Steve really made it special.

  • Thanks aucksmix.

  • Awesome tribute! the sadest is where Lisolett Mueller (Jennifer Jones) falls out of the scenic elevator :(

  • Thanks bdude24. I agree that it's the saddest part. The elevator scene is unforgettable.

  • i agree to that. Didn't expect her to end so soon. Great movie , a wonderful classic! Just like Gene Hackman in Poseidon Adventure and Charlton Heston in Earthquake.

  • great movie!!

  • Great John Williams Music

  • Todo un clasico! Muy bn trabajo! felicitaciones y gracias por compartir tu creatividad, tiempo y dedicación

  • Gracias nota209. I'm touched by your comments.

  • Congratulations, very good job.

I`m Mexican, 43 years old, and this movie, and also, Poseidon Adventure and Earthquake, were very important in my memories when was a little kid.

    Thanks.

  • You're welcome fito65. I love Poseidon Adventure and Earthquake too.

  • Thank you, er2006.

I think, will be impossible to see a new movie with so many great and legendary actors together like in Towering Inferno.

    Thanks again.

  • Fantastic - well done, Great movie then, still is!

  • Thank you. Glad you liked it.

  • Everybody's heard The Morning After. But, did this song ever hit the airwaves? Obvious it's Maureen McGovern.

  • Hi. I really don't know. I only leatned about this version a week ago and decided to use it. I guess it's only the other version that got airplay. Thanks for commenting.

  • Here in Sydney Australia, it is still played on our most popular easy listening radio station as is 'There's got to be a Morning after' from "The Poseidon Adventure".

  • I love that song too.

  • I recall it getting airplay around the time The Towering Inferno was released, but whether it made the charts or not, I'm not sure.
