A few points of clarification. Joe Renzetti's Oscar sat on a 13" B&W TV in the bar in my hometown and is directly from Joe who won the Oscar for the score of the Buddy Holly story. About 85% of the music is LIVE, no lip sync as is the music being played. Gary Busey WAS a touring Muscision appearing on 2 of Leon Russells albums under the name Teddy Jack Eddy, which in the movie he ad libs the lyrics to "Well Alright" and adds Teddy Jack Eddy into it. he played surfer bars when he first hit CA
What a great show and Wow such a good job on the songs. Leave this video on as long as you can i wont to come back a lot and see this. It is just great.
I think that theres only 4 clips of buddy in existence.there is an audio of sunday night at The london palladium and maybe footage i read on a website. Lets hope so Buddy brilliant!!
"the first white man to play the Apollo" No, others such as Woody Herman (whose 1946 blues "Fan It" was a Top Five hit on the "black" chart) and Charlie Barnet already had.
I am 41 and when I use to pick my baby girl up from daycare and at night when she would not go to sleep all I had to do was............. Well awella I love the way you hold me tight.. and finish the rest she is 15 now and she still remembers me doin it. and it still works. rip bh
this was a wonderful movie and this was one of my favorite scenes... i just wish the movie could have been more accurate though but still gary does a great job playing the role of Buddy..
Agreed..probably Busey's best acting performance. Too bad he didn't sound like Buddy, but he did put alot of himself into the part. Also wish the movie was more accurate account of Buddy's life.
Music does NOT see color. Wish us Americans did the same. We ALL belong in the HUMAN race. For those who don't know, there is a Buddy Holly Museum in Lubbuck, Texas (His home town) I've been there twice now. Do a Google search for the website.
He had the impression that he has been demonically controlled at times. This has been since the onset of his breakdown and that he's influenced all the time by this is. He denied having any olfactory or visual hallucinations but he claims he may have occasional tactile hallucinations about 3AM. Facial and genital contract. Then he says he's in contact with a darker power who are outside of him, but are trying to get inside him.
Really great music. Sounds fresh even today. Like the harmonies. I dont think the orginal Buddy Holly and the crickets sang played the songs like that.
if we can only get these guys back again america would be back to normal again

One of the best things about this movie was these 3 played and sang EVERY song. They did not lip sync to any of Holly's songs!!!!

Too bad for this movie Buddy never played a Fender Tele, and Oh Boy! is not a one chord song. Watch Busey's left hand, same chord. Good movie though.
