I have a question. When I walk into the room no matter how quite I am, they jump off the basking doc and hide in the corner. I do not abuse them or anything. Another thing I notice is when you pick your turtles up they don't shy away. Mine contract and don't come out of their shell for a long time. Is their something I can do to kinda crack open their shy shell.

When you put your turtle in that bowl did you have to dechlorinate the water even though it would only be in there for a little while

@MrTurtlelover99 @ClassyTurtle go to turtle forum dot com and search for it it is bad no matter what and putting it on and rinsing it off doesn't do a thing its like putting hand lotion on and rinsing it off defeats the purpose. Also vita shell is good for human hands try it it makes them soft.

Don't try vita-shell, Its a terrible product and won't help you at all...

Like the other comment says, Get a UVB light and heat light over a good basking area and make sure the turtle basks enough...

Make sure it is eating enough calcium, Try fresh salmon... It is very good for a turtle and has many different vitamins that will help

@BIGGESTxxEMINEMxxFAN Ok. They currently have a exo terra 125 mercurey vapor bulb and bask for the majority of the day that i see. I use Nutra fin max and repti calicum I will try salmon .Thanks for the advice

How close to the basking area is the mercury vapour ? If you put it too close then you might do damage... Have it at least 16 inches from the basking area...
