I'm trying to improve quality. However, I am not a professional video editor and I am learning as I go along. This video was "enhanced" from it's original condition. Check out "Solid Gold / Season 5 - Episode 39 part 5" and compare them. Tell me if it's worth taking the time to do or not.
Thanks for responding...yes the Season 5 Clip is a good one, but without something to compare it to...I am not sure if your time is well spent editing...but those black disco jeans...priceless. What we really need to do is start a campain to get the show back on the air...with the new Hi Def technology,,,that would be awesome !!! But keep on working to improve ... you have my total support. Where do you get the raw footage?
tcann, this is an edited version of a "full episode" that I have posted before. It's in five parts, but I'll send you two of them so you can look at the dancers footage and compare them to this video to see if the changes are apparent. K?
I liked Darcel, however I think that part of her stumbling in her last season (85-86) must be due to her weight gain. Watching her in her earlier seasons she weighed and stumbled less.
I thought she Darcel looked even better with the weight gain as it added to her curves. Where do you see her stumbling? She looked absolutely fantastic in Season 6.
I didn't say that she was stumbling in this episode & yes she did look better w/ her curves. To me in season 6 she would normally stumble during closing credits (not all the time) as opposed to previous episodes. All in all Darcel is still one of my favorite dancers.
Dwight, what I have posted of Countdown 86 is all that will be posted from me. One, because complete episodes are a TON of work and less popular than dancer only posts.
Two, I don't have the commercials from that show. I got the footage with commercials edited out already.
watching the last dance, Nicole looks so happy dancing the theme, this video is a good refence about the return of Darcel the most representative dancer of Solid Gold
Sorry Darcel was stumbling all over the place on the ending. Poor thing.
Anyway perhaps they couldn't afford Darcel and Rick Dees at the same time but thank god for getting rid of Rick Dees, I guess its too bad they couldn't figure that out earlier in the season.

I guess I am probably in the minority when it comes to Rick Dees. I liked him as host even though he was stupid at times!!! I did like seeing 9 dancers during the last few shows of Season 5, but it would have been nice seeing 6 women and 3 men Solid Gold Dancers!
I HATED Rick Dees, but then again I was already familiar with him from his KIIS FM Los Angeles radio show (and I didn't like him there, either!). But that lasted over 20 years until Ryan Seacrest knocked Rick out of his morning radio gig!
And all we had in Britain was "Top of the Pops",lol. God love it,R.I.P. "TOTP!
