Yea the first ones a wyvern its smaller than a dragon and its got only 2 legs

@Crash42900 They are both dragons. Wyverns do not breathe fire and have barbed tails.

@slayerofstuff newsflash only some wyverns have barbed tails, the first creature had only 2 legs and I didnt see it breathing any fire!

@Crash42900 We have received breaking news. These animations are from the movie Reign of Fire which shows that these creatures breathe fire, making them both dragons. Both creatures also only have two legs, using their bat-like wings to assist in walking when on the ground.

@slayerofstuff That's not a rule. Generally any dragon lacking forearms and possessing only wings and hindlegs is a wyvern. It's just the terminology.

If I haven't read the description I would have thought these were early animations for Reign of Fire.

They are, and were not made in blender at all. Those animations are in the behind the scenes stuff on the Reign of Fire dvd. Too bad Secret Lab was disbanded though. Amazing work they did on that film.

oh indeed, Secret Lab got disbanded since Disney wanted to save money and had their VFX work done by ILM, not criticizing ILM though

Yip. Though I hear tell Disney and even ILM are outsourcing a lot of their work now too to vfx studios in Korea and India. Man it's competative enough out there without having to compete globally for a job :P All well. Too bad about Secret Lab though. They did some fantastic work.

Best damn dragon ever seen on film. Inspired my own cg creation. Not as good as Reign of Fire though, sadly.
