Hey I'm currently getting my Assoicates degree in Health Care Administration medical records. I would like to know how did u go about getting an internship. I have been lookin online but i haven't had any luck did u find your internship online or did u go to the hospital and talk to someone about getting one?
@Candycoated86 My internships were all setup by my school and their education affiliations. If you're school doesn't already have some education affiliations then I strongly suggest that you look at their accreditation. Any accredited CAHIIM school should have education partners for their students. Please check the AHIMA website to see if you're school is properly accredited.

Or would it be better to go straight for the degree? (2) How did you get your first job in HIM? Did you have experience coming out of college? I am reading that graduates are having a hard time getting that first job because they don't have 2+ years of experience.
