I like AvP, still do, multiplayer isn't dead really. Reinstalled it a week or 2 ago, bought it back at release. Still a nice online community, fun campaigns (although, short, and maps are recycled, which is pretty lame) and really, i'd say, go for it. It's pretty cheap now.

aliens are pure close range and the fastest, marines are heavy firepower with sniper rifles to flamethrowers but are the slowest, and predators are in-between, with wrist blades and plasma casters. its a good game, scary at some moments and thrilling at others. online is awesome. you should get it.

marine wuz funniest to use. If u dont wanna go around killing ppl that's boring, but kill aliens ? i'd say predator is an alien too ina way (so that goes for both of em). that's why marine is the best char to use. alien char sucked monkey balls so confusing with the wall climbing u think yr upside down when u aint and so on, I mean u can see if u are, but u dont really have time for that most of the time, it's confusing enough as it already is.

AvP2010 is over hyped and not worth £40 or evn the packaging it comes.......go find a copy of the old 2000 AvP - steam £2.99 - more fun, scarer, and you'll still have money to take the girl/boy friend out
Marine Campaign is like in the old AvP Games scary as Hell! Alien and Predator Campaign are verry cool! Multiplayer is verry funny, but it is a little bit anoying that the ranked gameplay is non dedicated. Well I cant tell how cool the DLCs are, because they are not available in good old Germany... stupid videogames hating government!

If you like repetitive gameplay and bad controlls BUY IT! Its such a shame, i was hoping this would be great. But its just another mediocre game with a movie brand name slapped on it.
You play solo with no Marines along side you, am I right? Cause if that's the case, it's just another man vs monster shooter with a familiar name on top of it.

@bigfnar If you are unsure about buying a game you can do what I do and rent it at blockbuster. Personaly, I liked the game although the campaign is short, it took me about 4 hours each to beat it.
@bigfnar The campaigns are amazing but sadly the way they had multiplayer setup was absolutely atrocious and as a result no one plays online anymore. on the PC anyway.
@bigfnar I suggest renting it for a week or two. The game play for each campaign is only about two hours and a half and the multiplayer will get boring after playing frequently for a couple of days. But it is an alright game.

@bigfnar well i noticed that was 4 months ago, but if you havent got this. This is a good game, single player is quite interesting, online might take awhile to get into a ranked match for some reason though. Friendly matches are quite fun. Now with the Characters, Marine- grab grenades for grenade launcher and shoot if you cant hit em, melee at closs distance. GREAT for long distance fighting, alien crawl on walls and sneak up for kills, Predator- use plasma gun or sneak up, good overall.

@bigfnar The game had excellent graphics than 1 and 2 AVP. However, the levels are short and it's not harder (or what i expected). I would rent it and then play it. In the future when you're up to it again, then rent it. AVP 2 was worth buying....even til this day that game gives me the shivers.

Do what I did - download a torrent of it - since I heard so many mixed opinions - I dont have the money to spend on terrible games and PC games can't be returned so I downloaded it to test it and see if its any good - and if its good enough - I'll buy it retail ^^

The marine campaign has the best story followed very closely by the Predator campaign. The alien campaign is basically gore-tastic executions all the way through. There's a major cliffhanger at the end of the Marine campaign, but I won't ruin the story.
I though Predators have two claws not three, on that note now that i know that they have three i'll own people online and say "OOOHHHH I JUST WENT WOLVERINE ON YOUR ASS"
Marine campaign really captures the sheer terror of the AvP universe in two ways, the lone marine trying to survive and when you get your squad for brief moments to fight waves of hording aliens.

What makes this series truly excellent is the fact that all three species are equally balanced and equally fun to play. It's pointless to argue whether Aliens or Predators are cooler, when they're both awesome monsters to battle against and play as.
And, of course, humans are fun as the puny meat caught in the middle of the whole madness.

@superyungdeezy well each species has it's strengths and weaknesses, humans can't stalk like the xenomorphs or the yautja, but the weaponry makes up for that, however... only human
Marines sux in almost every space creatures based games. Only Battlefield and CoD that the marines are a threat.

The marine campaign has the best story followed very closely by the Predator campaign. The alien campaign is basically gore-tastic executions all the way through. There's a major cliffhanger at the end of the Marine campaign, but I won't ruin the story.

Marine campaign really captures the sheer terror of the AvP universe in two ways, the lone marine trying to survive and when you get your squad for brief moments to fight waves of hording aliens.

Its released on the 16th in north america and the 19th in the UK if im not mistaken.
Everyone says it'll be crap cuz the demo was crappy and, lets be honest, it was a terrible demo but the game has so much more to offer than that dumpy little thing! Personally, I did enjoy the demo but I played with friends soooooo....

Actually this game is released - 19th - This Friday....
And Yes there is co-op, But just not campaign co-op - So im afraid for campaign mode, its single player only....
But there is aco-op multiplayer - Marine swarm etc... Where you and friends are marines, holding off waves of aliens etc.
The game is amazing, looks amazing, the demo was amazing, and didnt even scratch the surface of the actuall game itself.
Pre-ordered - Cant wait!

@themoose1986 People were sayiing its sgonna be crap just because of the demo. I thought the demo was good personally but then youre playing a free for all. Wait till you get species deathmatch and mixed species deathmatch, infestation, survival, the campaign also looks like pure jizz and acid blood! Itll be awesome. I want a random Hudson appearance "game over man. GAME OVER!"

What makes this series truly excellent is the fact that all three species are equally balanced and equally fun to play. It's pointless to argue whether Aliens or Predators are cooler, when they're both awesome monsters to battle against and play as.
And, of course, humans are fun as the puny meat caught in the middle of the whole madness.
