  • So what? Did anyone die from this relocation? Do you know many children and women the Japanese killed in China, Korea, the Philippines, and countless other nations? And, seriously, how DO you know Japanese spies didn't exist, and wouldn't pose a threat? Japan would have invaded and slaughtered you all like animals, without mercy, if it wasn't fighting in Asia at the time as well...

  • SHOULD HAVE KILLED THEM ALL WHEN WE HAD THE CHANCE

  • I think the Japanese lost everything that was confiscated ... houses, businesses, etc.

  • I wonder if the people that had their property confiscated ever got their stuff back? Or was it just "taken over" by "squatter's rights" by the non-Japanese population? Does anyone know?

  • they were imprisioned for a attack that was at very least let to happen by our goverment.just like something else i know!wow when will we wake up?

  • it makes you wonder just how far we have sunk.

  • "the Japanese themselves cheerfully handled the enormous paperwork involved in migration"

    "the evacuees cooperated wholeheartedly"

oh yeah i'm sure they loved being kicked out of their homes and put into concentration camps just because they or their parents were form Japanese descent -_- you can't control your genes

  • But from this video you can see that the Japanese were not transported in cattle cars on trains...like the Jews by the Germans...

Atleast Americans used regular passenger train cars....not cattle cars.

  • Yes, and the Americans did not share a land border with a gigantic enemy regime. It had a large ocean and no threat of invasion.

  • It's normal human behavior. If Japan had a large, visible American (Caucasian) population, it wouldn't have let them roam freely.

  • how can i get the original film?

  • Before one encourages someone to read their history, one should read history themselves. The Munson Report, given to FDR less than one month before Pearl Harbor, stated the high level of support of the United States amongst the Japanese American population. 2/3 of the Japanese Americans were U.S. citizens, 3/4 of whom were under the age of 18. No sabotage was ever proven by the U.S. government. Atrocities by Japanese elsewhere should not then, or now, be an excuse for imprisonment.

  • Munson did not have access to magic

had no expeience in counter espionage

and was just a businessman nothing more. his report was issued before Pearl Harbor. After the war started he changed his mind and supported

internment of U.S. citizens along with enemy aliens. Munson was duped.

    The Japanese military had been

inserting agents into the U.S. since

    1918. Research history of Japanese

espionage not the internment. Try history of the Kempitai (not sure of spelling)

  • A Japanese American man says, "had other Americans had courage to speak out.."(against human injustice),he says Rememberance Day and this Dialogue about violations of human rights would be unnecessary today.I agree about apologizing, but also question how many of the Japanese Americans kept quiet about or justified Japanese invasions, colonialism, and slavery in rest of Asia for half a century before WWII? Are they doing enough today about Japanese Government's Whitewashing of History?

  • Damn. The fact we did this to our own people just makes me sick. How could they take away their rights like this without a trial or due process? Love the cheerful music in the background, as if that made it alright.

  • Yeah, this is much worse than what was going on in Nanjing.

  • start reading some history , Imperial Japan was killing thousands of people in China invading asia about to take over Australia and the chance that some Japanese might help from inside the US was a chance after Pearl harbor that the US could not afford .

  • That makes it ok to imprison American citizens without being charged or given a trial.

"not a chance they could afford?" What chance was there, fuck-up? None outside that of racial fear.

  • If you did some reading as others have suggested you might find how japanese living in the Philippines helped the Japanese army

when they invaded shortly after the war began. This is historical fact and FDR was

well aware of this when he signed the relocation order.
