@rbnodvd Some fanboys are. I'm not. I just hate uneducated comments. About Rodriguez shooting 7D, I think that's great. There's a tool for every job. I personally hate shooting on the 7D. I've shot shorts and music videos with it and find the footage a pain to grade. I never said people who use anything less than the Scarlet are idiots. I said calling it overpriced is foolish.
@rbnodvd Gotcha. I'm sure everyone knows that. No one who buys a Scarlet is going to use it primarily for web media. However, I will say, there was a music video I directed where we used both the 5D mkII and the Red One, and you can easily see the difference between the two on youtube.
Looks awesome, Phil. 48fps is such a nice feel. Makes 60fps seem almost too slow. 48 just feels natural, surreal, and keeping 3K is certainly nice. The details rock. Thanks for sharing. Haters gonna hate, but you know lots of people actually APPRECIATE you getting this stuff out there. Happy New Year!
@Jaspion88 There's no way you saw more dynamic range and resolution out of a FS100 video. I know. I've used one a whole bunch. They don't compare even at 3k.
@phfx I'm more than happy letting people think Scarlet is an overpriced camera. It reminds me how much more informed I am and how little self-education these fools are doing.
@steveyagerfilms So Shane Huurlbut Robert Rodrguez and others that don't always use over priced cams to get the job done are fools and ill-informed wow! ur the fool for saying such a comment, LOL all that work/money and for what to end up with a 1080p crappy youtube compressed footage .When the 4k revolution hits there will be far better and cheaper 4k cams out there, so yes u did overpay lol...by the way what big screen are u using this camera for??
@rbnodvd Why would I use my Scarlet primarily for youtube? I am making features with it for distribution in theater and TV. No one is a fool for using a different camera. You're just a fool for calling the Scarlet overpriced and saying lesser cameras are equally as good. You don't need a Scarlet for web production, but I sure as hell wouldn't shoot a feature with a FS100 if I had the option.
@steveyagerfilms What studio? and what is it that ur doing that will hit the theaters? lol most theaters only do 2k projection lol and yes comparing it to other cameras is not foolish because on the net the compression makes them look similar so relax RED fanboy. I have worked on RED,FS100, F3 and Alexa 5D etc. footage I am an editor and have worked for some serous pros, so I know what i'm talking about, most RED 4k footage will most likely never be screened on a 4k screen/monitor relax...
I agree that most theaters today project 2k digital. 2k and 4k filmouts happen on wide film print distribution and have been for years. 4k is becoming a theatrical standard and will be more available as time goes on. The first 4k television broadcast is also happening this year. I'm shooting on a feature in April for a 4k finish for wide theatrical distribution.
@rbnodvd Overpaid? Really? I'm gonna bet that you don't know anything about Phil, so seriously, keep your nasty little remarks to yourself. Enjoy your FS100!
@meeksdigital LOL what makes u think I own an fs100 lol, just my opinion didn't meant to insult ur boyfriend, but not every one will sing RED praises or like ur work if you don't want criticism don't post videos for the public to see and comment thick skin sir!
Was hoping to see this played back at 48fps... I would assume it would look like consumer video at anything other than 24fps... Am I right in assuming this was 48th shutter speed? I have yet to see anything shot at a 48TH and 48FPS AND played back at 48fps... I would think it would be terrible as 120hz motionflow tech on a Samsung monitor?
@NFFBroadcast Shutter was at 1/96th at 48fps played back at 24fps in the video. Most productions are shooting at 1/96th that will be projecting at 48fps this year.
@NFFBroadcast 48 fps played back at 24fps... 2X overcrank. Right phfx? And everyone needs to turn off their "motionflow" crap on the displays unless they want their Blu Ray of "2001 A Space Odyssey" to look like "Celebrity Apprentice"
F**k it! I'm buying THIS AMAZING CAMERA. I will make my first independent film with it!!! First I'll just have to work more to save up some money.

@steveyagerfilms Overpriced fot the net is what I meant, if it was on the big screen RED all the way! but for the small-screen it's overkill

Nothing really impressive... Like Rbnodvd said I saw way better FS100 video on Youtube or Vimeo. I'm glad I cancelled my order @ Red.
