It was a pleausre to actually hear Liberace play. Also, the first punch thrown in part 2 was ballooned out (bad guy hitting Batman). Also kind of silly was the fact that Harriet knew he wasn't Chandell therefore should have suspected something and put wax in here ears. And, if harriet was inside (to be put into a box) why would they take her outside? Bagpipe Alfred and just carry him in.
As a matter of fact, he was from West Milwaukee, WI and in high school the same time as my Aunt.
Go Herriet!! Show That Phony What's Up! I Definitely Like the part where Harriet said you're not the great chandell you must be that awful twin brother that I heard about on the news and that I saw on the news. you name is Harry is it not? Go Batman give that nasty old man a wiff of bat gas!
Ok, now that I've seen both parts in full, Liberaces acting may have been terrible to start with, but it got progresivly better as the show went on. Loved his last line in the cell.
Oddly enough, Libarace's acting was godawful when playing "Chandell", which was close to his real personality, but he his performance as the evil twin, Harry, was ten times better. A rare case of someone being unable to play himself. Odd. Also odd -- He does not know how to pronounce the French word, "Adieu", which he says when kissing Aunt Harriet's hand. He pronounces it 'A-DOO". Liberace had performed all over the world. You'd think he'd know some basic French!
I meant to mention the twin as well, because I agree a hundred percent, he was much better in that role for the whole duration of the episode. I caught adieu/A-doo thing but I put that down to the character being a bit a fraud, just something to bring a bit more attention to his character. But who can say for sure?
Good speculation about "A-doo". Makes sense. If you really like Batman episodes on You Tube, you've gotta see Tallulah Bankhead in her last acting role, as the Black Widow. That 2-part episode is on here. Bankhead died of emphysema about a year after the shows were filmed. You can really hear her shortness of breath in her scenes, and note how often she sits for long periods. Still, she rises to the occasion and is very funny --- Tallulah playing Tallulah. Her swan song.
But that was George pretending to be Chandell. Although he can mimic the basic voice and mannerisms, he wasn't quite as cultured as the incomparable Chandell.
Batman singing to get out of a jam. Batman and Robin both being able to recall a concert performance note for note. Three different people getting the bag pipes of doom treatment. Aunt Harriet pulling a gun on Harry. This is one of the greatest Batmans of all time.
They cut out the bit where Harriet asks who'd pay a ransom for her and Harry explains the Wayne Foundation board would as without her, no money for charities.
liberace's evil character harry should had teamed up with shelley winter's villainess character ma parker
