  • Ric and Dusty are the gold standard at cuttting promos. That music that played when Hawk came out has been added clearly. NWA never played music like that. Not to mention it's not Ironman.

  • I miss these days when Ric could back UP each and everything he said in his great promos. Ric Flair was the best.

  • The original 4 Horseman! This was most coheisive unit ever! Arn, Tully, Ole & The Nature Boy!!!

  • And thats what ou get when you mess with the Man.

  • dusty rhodes: " This might be the Swan song, if ya will!" LMAO

  • DAMMIT VINCE, WRITE BLACK SABBATH A CHECK!!!!!

  • Dusty Rhodes made the fans feel exactly what he was saying. He was way ahead of his time. Dusty is the pioneer of wrestling, he put wrestling on the map. No other wrestler could cut a promo like BIG DUST !!! HE WAS WRESTLING HIMSELF B4 THERE WAS A HULK HOGAN.

  • Animal took a real fall on his side...

  • "Rock and Roll"....uh?....stupid fans. They were doing coke in the back.

  • Okay, Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair....the two best talkers EVER in the game. The Rock got up there on their level for a while, but when you see bits like Dusty's "livin'.....on the end of a lightnin' bolt" and "I've reserved the stratosphere for me and you.", there just is nothing and no one who touches The American Dream.....except for Ric Flair.

AND THAT'S MY SWAN SONG....IF YOU WILL!

  • So Mitch Hedberg was basically doing Dusty Rhodes... That is smart

  • lol he does, he looks like UDO but tall and fat.

  • I just noticed that Dusty sounds a lot like Jesse Jackson.

  • I love how Ric yells shit at people. xD

  • "This lives at MY house!" Classic!

  • These days, one enemy is all you're allowed. This ONE promo, Flair name 9! BRING 'EM ON BABY!! COMPETITION?? I'M THE CHAMPION!!

  • " Livin' in the Promise Lan', being the best you can. Thats whats its all about. " Truer words have never been spoken.

  • GODDAMN I miss those days! The great Ric Flair.

  • What the hell is with that crappy music playing when Hawk came out to jump on Flair? What happened to Iron Man?

  • Dusty sounds like a cross between Rufus R Freight train Jones, Super Star Bill Graham and The Boggie Woggie man. LOL

  • All of you here Must be suffering from some kind of Nostalgia.

I bet most of you commenting thought wrestling was REAL when you used to watch it back then.lol, lol, rofl

  • "The four horsemen need to ride on another planet, cause I reserved the stratosphere for me and you." That is a great line...............

  • @seanj666 I teach English Lit in England I have that taped to the door!! It's absolutely stunning!

  • If John Cena was wrestling back during this era,he would nothing more than a jobber getting his shoulders pinned every night. The wwe is a joke.

  • @sammys70 Yeah, trying telling my kids that. I make them watch flair everyday on youtube!

a good education starts at home.

  • @passingpoor You must miss the old school type of wrestling like i do?

  • @sammys70 Thw problem with WWE is that they are not even trying to replicate the old magic,

they are a very commercial outfit intent on selling merch. there is also no way wrestling will come back whilst entire promos consist of perfectly reading scripts on cue. the new product is very sterile and the fact is that it can only get worse.

  • look at wrestling then and wrestling now. BIIIIG differnce. MUCH better back the....

  • This is when the"Big Belt" meant something. this era is gone forever.... :-(

  • why do wrestlers tape their fingers?

  • @danpats1 Ask Micheal Jackson

  • NWA was great for having heel champions which always made for better programs...

  • So Flair did the spit in hand and slap thing before The Rock ! And in an interview he also called himself "The Great One"... I wonder if Rock was taking notes during this time or something ?

  • Gawd, how I hated this fat fuck back in '86 when I'd watched NWA every Saturday on TBS---loved it when Flair and/or the Horsemen would kick Rhodes ass

  • DAMN! Seeing Rick Flair's flabby body on TNA these days...I never realized how built and how good of shape Flair was! The greatest wrestler and interviewer of all time WOOOOOOO!!!!

  • The fans were chanting for the Rock n Roll express to make the save. That was kind of random.

  • @udderprojectz Not really. RnR was in a hot feud with the Andersons and Flair (Morton Flair was at this time), plus, even though revisionsit history doesn't always recorgnize it, the RnR were pretty much as over as anyone else in NCP at this time. If you watch, the fans frequently cheer for RnR when something goes down.

  • @udderprojectz JCP, I mean

  • Learn ye the art of oratory.

  • I remember that when it first happened. Started one of the best feuds in wrestling ever! Great stuff! Don't like seeing the LOD get beat up like that, but great memories!

  • nobody gave better interviews than theNature Boy.People don't realize that even though Dusty Rhodes appeared to be out of shape,he had incredible cardio conditioning. He and Flair could throw down for hours. They don't make them like this anymore

  • @TheAngelus1898 Dusty didn't move much at that time. If you watch his matches from this period, it is mostly the heels working and bumping around him while he is stationary. it's actualy pretty ridiculous to wathc the heel run into all of his moves while he stands in one spot.

  • Horsemen had to regulate!

  • Ha ha...Hurricane Tony Zane as Jim Cornette called him.

  • the road warriors got they ass whipped

  • Please, wrestling has always been faked, growing up most people thought it was real,so it was always sports entertainment, but most idiots were so caught up in it they thought that it was real, yes some of those guys made good promos but most couldn,tt even speak like G. Gagne with no charisma.

  • Did Dusty rhoades ever come out from the closet? Man, this guy sounded like he belonged in the backroom of Ramrods.

  • @VictorNYC That shit was LOL FUNNY!

  • Tony Schiavones moustache! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • All u haters of today promos,get a life,Nothing worst then Nostalgia.

btw I grew up with the NWA.Times change give it a rest.

  • @2CHACHOUU So did I man, but you have to admit that compared to those days, today's product is pretty stale. Ask anybody who knows anything about the wrestling business what's wrong with it today and they'll all say the same thing, It's "sports entertainment."

  • @2CHACHOUU Listen to Jim Cornette sometime.

  • flair vs some big tittied jobber lol ....then hawk hands him ass lol flair sold everyone from the nobodys to the stars ...what a legend

  • Nothing tops classic Horsemen.

  • Classic Horseman Shenanegans... I was pissed when this happened as a kid because back then I thought the sun rose and set on THE ROAD WARRIORS!

  • "the Horsemen need to ride on another planet." "I've reserved the stratusphere for me and you." Great Stuff by Dusty...

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • "Is Dusty Rhodes the Amarcan Dream, the Great Amarcan Batch"

  • Seven yeeeeeears if you will.

  • rite

  • goddamn! ric flair looks ripped here, and that belt looks like it BELONGS to the nature boy, and it more or less did, 21 or 23 times, depending on... amazing

  • road warriors got fucked up lol

  • Flair was 37 already at this point...wow.

  • Yes, his birthday was 2 and 1/2 weeks ago. He's now 61.

  • Holy crap Flair was buff here. I keep forgetting how fit Flair was in his prime

  • tell that girl screaming in the audience to STFU!

  • They changed Hawk's (Road Warriors) intro music on this clip. I just watched the original clip and when Hawk came to the ring it was the original Road Warrior music, Ozzy Osborne.

  • Vince didn't want to pay the clearance, I guess.

  • @SewerMan69 Actually the Warriors intro was Iron Man by Black Sabbath, which Ozzy sang lead.

  • @SewerMan69 Watch Hawk @7:14.

  • Classic!!! This was pro wrestling at it's best. Cena, Orton. take notes on what a real world champion looks like and how storylines use to be played out.

  • Uh, what exactly did Flair do here that Cena and Orton can't?

  • Lol. The pro wrestling of today cannot hold a candlestick to the pro wrestling of yesteryear. World champions kept their titles for a long time period and the title was not changing hands very month sickening!!!! Don't get me wrong Cena and Orton can deliver however they are in the wrong era. Put them back in the 80's with Flair and they become much better. Flair just has more charisma than Cena and Orton though.

  • I don't disagree on the charisma part. Cena has a lot of charisma though.

  • @thunder0925 Correct. The title does not even mean much anymore. I remember Mick Foley came out on Raw even saying that too. Its true. I could not even tell you who has the title now, it changes everytime. If you won the title back in the day, it ment alot and they held it for a long time too.

  • @thunder0925 that's true. in the 80's you could probably count the title changes on one hand and when it did change hands it meant something. now no one cares.

  • @thunder0925 I agree 100 %

  • Respond to this video... Thats what I call Classic Wrestling. Guys today spend too much time watching and trying to imitate what was done back during these days. NWA WCW alwasy had better quality wrestling matches than the WWF did

  • Randy Orton misses more moves in 1 match than Flair has in th eentire decade of the 80's.

  • You know it! Unfortunately, Vince has his writers tell them what to say, how ot say,

etc. The "superstars" of today woudn't

    have a clue.

  • I heard Dusty Rhodes was an asshole in real life.

World Six Man Tag Team Championship, what a useless title

  • And he still is.

  • They did have too many "championships" back then. Hmmm, sort of like now. lol

  • This maight be the swaan song if ya' will.

I reserved tha stratsphea for me an you.

Classic Dusty. The Dream and the Nature Boy hands down the two best mouths on the mic in the bitnez.

  • God the Horsemen fucking ruled

  • This is a good look for him.

  • 14 title defenses on one show... makes the head spin!

  • Actually, when the NWA was active, the Great American Bash wasn't a one-time PPV, held once a year, but a summer long tour that would go across the nation. They were talking about 14 title defenses for Flair over the course of 30 days. Flair would have died if he would have had to defend his belt 14 times on one 3 hour PPV. =)

  • HOLY SHIT. what the hell were they trying to do at 7:10??? looks like they almost killed him, sweet move i guess haha

  • Looks like a botched gordbuster or inverted brainbuster- but Arn never really did a brainbuster.

  • That was a botched gourdbuster

  • omg that belt is so gorgeous. really makes the old wwf title look like the european title haha

  • One of the greatest lines ever, "the Horsemen need to ride on another planet." "I've reserved the stratusphere for me and you." Fantastic monologue.

  • Even Hawk was a way better worker than Hogan! Flair is the man. Wooooooo!

  • Hahaha, the Road Warriors really got served! Don't fuck with Flair and his horsemen, lol.

  • @raffen79 LOL dude said u aint got the guts or else get ya face slapped!

  • @raffen79 yeh, 4 on 1 then 4 on 2........yawn

  • @raffen79 Flair in reality was a puss, although, he was a funny puss.

  • No one has done has much for wrestling has Dusty.

Alot of people do not realize all the work he did backstage/writing storylines.

  • Dusty's promo made me laugh.

  • Flair could sell a move, that's for sure.

  • Silly....but entertaining ! LOL

  • Flair had some guns back then.

  • God, I always hated this 3rd-person-loving fat fuck,"if ya will"

  • listen up if ya will...this fat fuck is one of the greatest talkers if ya will. dont hate on him..he is the man if ya will lol

  • WTF they dubbed over Iron Man when Hawk came out & replaced it with some crap music.

  • do you really think they have the rights to play that in this day in age.. welcome to wwe 24/7 young one.

  • Oh, I know why they do it nowadays. Just doesn't seem right though.

  • And I lol'd at young one. I just looked at your profile & I'm older than you. lol

  • Crockette and Fat Runnels suck for that one!!

  • Thanks for the great post. Back in the 80s Flair was at the top of his game. He was at his best with the NWA; never quite the same with the WWF/WWE. And God Bless Road Warrior Hawk - one of the true greats of professional wrestling.

  • Hey that's WCW's Pee Wee Anderson (RIP)!

  • the Horsemen rocked ass!

  • Flair at his PEAK. Wooooooooooooooo

  • Lol. Animal got owned by that Nature Boy knee and the Horsemen showed the Warriors what's causing all this. Whooo!

  • three of the greatest,Slic Ric,Big Duss,and RW Hawk(RIP)!

  • RW Animal (RIP). Hawk is still alive and well.

  • oh Georgy boy HAWK is the one dead. Animal is still alive

  • yeah I know my mistake. I got all mixed up. I appolagize for the reply on your comment.

  • The only way Hawk would go down was if he WANTED to.

  • I remember this from 1986 when it happened. That's messed up how the WWE replaced the Ironman theme music with some shit music when Hawk's comes to the ring. Stupid WWE. That's why 90% of the boxed set they put out are all f--ked up. Weather it's the entrance music of wrestlers, commentary, logo blocking (WWF). Jesus.

  • Well, it's all because of copyrights and stuff. They can't show the WWF logo anymore because of the lawsuit with the World Wildlife Fund. As for the themes, I guess the WWE didn't want to pay for the rights to songs like Iron Man.

That being said, I grew up on the NWA too. I remember World Wide Wrestling and I wished the WWE could've somehow showed those shows too. Now that I'm older, I notice how bad of an announcer Crockett was. He had the emotion, but he couldn't keep up with the action.

  • grew up on the nwa.dusty ric the best.

  • Andre is my man!

  • I guess Hawk's music and David and Tony's mics were on the same audio channel.

"They're trying to keep him out of Philadelphia!" There's the line of the day, ladies and gentlemen.

  • Hawk was the toughest dude on the planet. It took 5 of these pussies to cheat, so Flair wouldn't get the sh*t beat outta him. Always fun to watch Hawk beat the crap out of opponents.

  • Flair greatest ever, damm I miss him. WOOOO
