@Geekchess ... so, Geek, was it the "spontaneous brain growing" [in my last comment] which sounded creepy to you, LOL. I can see how that might be taken as a Frankenstein comment instead of its contextual meaning of increasing my knowledge via Kindle's in house dictionary. Good catch!!
Continuing again from previous posts... I do still have the in house dictionary on my Kindle 3, of course, which I cherish and which was the main selling point which got me into the first KINDLE. But, when I want to know more about a word or concept, being a bull dog, I want to DIG using live Internet. I'm hoping AT&T and Verizon will somehow beef up their cell towers soon, so I'll be again able to do spontaneous brain growing from within my home in Hotchkiss.
Continuing my previous post... Even though I can't work online with my K3 at home, I like all the other changed features much better than K1 & 2, enough so that I'm still using my K3 exclusively. I enjoy going to wi fi access coffee houses with my K3 or Samsung netbook. But, I miss the capacity to quickly Google a word or concept from my Kindle when I'm reading and impulsively want to research. That immediate access to internet searches was a potent mind grower now lost, sob.
Update on 3 G coverage in my home and work bases in rural areas in Colorado: I'm sad to report a weak single bar on EDGE, or no coverage at all. Basically, only once in a while consistent strength from 3G AT&T allows ordering a book from the Kindle store. I haven't been able to do Google searches from home, though sometimes I can get a Google list. Wi Fi works great at local cafes, coffee houses, and bookstores, but I've been spoiled by K1 & 2 working at home.
Creepy..
