Hey there, can you please tell me which GTX 285 is yours, coz i'm planning on a rig with kinda similar configuration but i reab in netkas that the GTX 285 with standart port configuration (two dvi) is the best compatible with hackintosh, hence asking? but that model is turing out to be quite expensive (450$) and also hard to find. Hence wahted to know if the one with 2 Dual-Link DVI-I and a 7-pin HDTV out work fine with such a hackintosh???
Go to insanelymac forums (Google it). I believe there's a guide on there in the Installation section for something similair to your motherboard. If you have questions just PM me or ask on the forums.
i found a lot information and reading from three days.. now i installed a copy by hazard and works fine.. i tired 25 times of installation to get it work:D
the problem now is the sound not working and vga 8600GT not maybe installed correctly i don't see the graphics monuments fast as windows 7.. i'm sure its from the driver of the vga..
whats the easy and best way to install drivers (kext).. by the way i'm talking to u now from osx 10.6.2 and updating now 731 MB.. still 16 minutes to finish..
Don't update yet as it tends to break stuff. As for your video card problems, go to google and search for "NVInject.kext". Place it into your System/Library/Extensions and rebuild the kext caches.
For your sound, check out what sound card you have and try to find documentation for it.
You can update but you need to do research before you update. After updating usually some drivers stop working or drivers get replaced. Always make a backup of your kexts before updating.
Hey man, did you update from a previous install of osx? I can't get my liveUSB to boot on my msi x58m mobo (for i7.) I'm having difficulty with what I assume is a bad power setting causing a kernel panic. If you've got any tips to give, I'd be more than happy to hear them, I'm stuck and confused.
Hi, the install I did was a clean install. Since a kernel panic can be caused by many factors, I'm afraid I can't really help you through comments. I recommend you check out Insanelymac and ask for help there.
Hi! i have a gtx 285 1gb xfx...what kext have you used? Can you write a link where you have found this? Thanks in advance! ;)

@OvetMen
Used graphicsenabler=yes string in the Chameleon boot.plist. I didn't use a kext.

@Dashing1256
You hadn't kernel panic with NVDAResman??
graphics anabler=yes is the only modify that you have done??
OvetMen 1 year ago
@OvetMen
Yes, google for the entire instructions. Don't touch any graphics kexts if you have a GTX 285.

@Dashing1256
Yes..I have GTX 285...
I used google...but nothing ;( ...can you help me again to link the guide that you have followed, please
Or "google for the entire instructions" is reporting to the method that you use to add graphics enabler=yes?

@shrynakesavan
Not sure about HDTV-out, but you can also get something like a Geforce 9500/9800/260 if you're not willing to spend so much cash.
My GTX 285 was a present by the way. ;)

Heya mate,
What power supply did you use for this? And what install method did you use? Did you use the retail version?
Cheers

I had some troubles getting my old PS/2 keyboard working, but for the rest.. not really.
I already had some experience with hackintoshes anyway.
