  • the title of the song???

  • Those movies has nothing to do with that time period

  • @Iam18seriouslyright the movies are from that period, but not in Byzantium. If you find a movie about Konstantinopolis ... please sent me that movie

  • @tektamos Kingdom of heaven is based on the crusades. The crusaders are fighting Arabians rather than Persians. These fights took place during the dark ages. Judging from the weaponry and warfare in "The First Knight", I'd guess that it also takes place during the dark ages.

There are too few movies about this war, sorry couldn't find any.

  • @Iam18seriouslyright First Knight ??? are you serius ?? I didnt know that hahahahahahahahaha. Come one be serius man. Offcourse is first night and of course is dark ages. But Byzantium was at the dark ages helloooooooooooooo. I am telling you, you know any movie about Byzantium and Konstantinopolis ? If you know, tell me to make a better video. If not , stop telling things i allready know.

  • @tektamos This film is devoted to Emperor Herakleios of Byzantine Empire, right? He didn't live during the dark ages, did he now?

  • @Iam18seriouslyright Actually as you dont know, dark ages are almost ubsent for Greece and Byzantium period. When you people had pestilence, we had Universities in Konstantinopolis, Efessos, Militos, Athens etc. For as the ages after Rome collapse to the European Enlightenment of Denis Diderot ...was dark ages. From 5th to 16th. For your school maybe is just from 9th to 14th ... But you did nothing for 1000 years, except building churches. Did you find a movie as i Ask you ??????????

  • @tektamos which completely explains why OUR ancestors tore down and outlawed many of the ancient philosophical schools.

nothing? from 1000 AD onwards europe was recovering

the dark ages doesnt include the medieval period, so its 500 years truthfully.

and considering such a massive empire like rome fell to small tribes, im not surprised it took a while

It took roughly 300 years for the greek dark ages after mycenae fell to end and even longer to reach the classical age of enlightenment.

  • @elgostine There is No dark ages of Mycenae civiliztion. It comes after Minoan and after Cycladic and after Pelasgic and...etc Greek history have no dark and unknow periods. Have only stupid teachers who doesnt want to staudy 20 years to learn 10.000 years , so they study 4 years about Clasic Greece, Hellinistic Greece, a few things about Byzantium , 1821 and thats it...finish studies start to get paid from work. Europe have never recovered from dark ages...Remember Serbia ? They are animals.

  • @tektamos

your kidding right? yes it did... between 1200-900BC after the fall of the myceneans. for various reasons,. the result was a loss of the use of linear B script writing, less trade links, a lack of complex beauracracy and simpler artistic stylings, plus a decline in monumental sculpture and building practices.

although conversely a few other things progressed, like the widespread use of iron, improved potters wheels and the use of the compass for circles

    this is BASIC greek history.

  • @elgostine This is the Basic history YOU THINK. Are you like kids in USA , opening the world history and in one page they think they know everything about Greece. Sorry but those 1200-900 numbers are not Greek or Roman. Are Londons or NYC calculations. Myceneans never fall, Minoans never fall...just Changed. linear B or A hahaha 1200 we had allready Alphabet. READ more Doerpfeld & Sleman. But here is a Byzantine video not a Ancient video. What is your point after all ??????????

  • @tektamos

1200-900BC is gregorian calender of COURSE its not greek or roman,

one page? i have books purely on greece, more general greek.

changed? to a simpler style? they didnt advance, they regressed, what happened to their palaces, their cyclopian walls, theres no massive stneworks from that period of 300 years as far as i know.

the point is there have ben dark ages before. and there will be more.

  • @elgostine There is no dark ages in Greek history... because there are no ages were Greeks put people one fire , destroy any civilize progress, been lawless.... hello these are dark ages data. And that data never exist in Greek History. Dark ages are a privilege of central north Europe. i AM NOT SAY ABOUT gregorian or Julian calenders. Both made by Greeks (Aristarchus & Lilius). 1200-900 is the end of mycenaean influence. The acme is in 3000 bc.

  • @tektamos more importantly either those researchers are SUPER obscure, or you typed the names wrong. i cannot find anything on their names.

linear B was the tandard script of the myceneans when was the discovery of an alphabet used by the mycenean ruling class.

  • @elgostine Those names my friend are the archeologists who found everything we know about Mycenaean Greece. The Germans Doerpfeld & Sleman . YES YES i know the linar B, A, ideogrammatic before , syllabic, alphabet ... I am GREEK my friend. Please help me out here ... i can't see your point here. About what are we talking about ? Alphabet used since the first vowel we have found. And that found 5250 BC in a island called Yura in Sporades islands. (Mama mia islands from the movie).

  • @tektamos those names together yielded no resultsive found doerpsfeld.

are you sure you dont mean hienrich Schliemann? as in the man who discovered troy

whats slemans first name? im having trouble finding him.

ill be honest in the midst of this arguement ive forgotten exactly what point i was trying to make

but i think it was that greece isnt this magical wonderland without decline. or stagnation

the byzantines had a period of brief, ill admit, stagnation i think it was around 700 AD

  • @elgostine Υου are right, I never been good in german ... its Schlieman he found 6 troy. from 6000 to 1150 and we cant be sure which of all destroy from Agamemnon. 5 times rebuilded. Special from 700AD the Greeks we are VERY pround. Cause before except Julian, all emperors were most like Romans than Byzantines. After Mavricius the west Roman empire starts to look like pure Greek.

  • @elgostine I AGREE Greece never was a magical wonderland ... but on this planet as Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche said : "Never so few people gave so many to civilization and humanity and been hated and hunted so much".

  • @tektamos what also annoys me is that period of destruction, iconoclastic policies, the banning of the ancient philisophical schools, and religous persecutions juring the reign of justinian i see as a bit of a low point, not to mention we were in freefall pretty much after manzikert.

  • @elgostine That had to do with religion, religion and faith always was something not Greek. Greeks we used to found the truth in any mater by philosophy. Believes, faith was something new. Manzikert was a battle lost because of the "war" between the Ethnic Greeks and Christians Greeks. Matzikert began as a vicotry and ends the last hour as a defeat because the half army didnt follow the Emperor.

  • @tektamos oxi oi staurofories den eginan ton 5o aiwna alla ton 9o(1050 peripou)

  • @ROBHUGHES1453 So after 10.000 years of Greek history and civilization , I will not talk about my history with a boy , who thinks he knows history because a stupid teacher in college , told him one bullshit. So please keep away from my videos and keep your comments for others. Not me , Thanks and good night

  • @ROBHUGHES1453 Look my friend. The date you have on your name 29 May of 1453 is the Our bigest memorial day and our bigest dream to get back our city Byzantio made my Korinthians 700bc and renamed by Konstantino. I am not here to teach you history. I dont care what you think. Greeks are Romaorum and Italians from Rome Romanorum. We call our selfs with more than one name Greek you think. We have 10.000 years history

  • @ROBHUGHES1453 Υου must came from Mars my friend ... you want from Greeks calling a Greek not Greek hahahahahahaha if he had a name like yours, he couldnt be a Greek. But because he has a Greek name, he spoke Greek and lived in Greek Empire ... he looks like a Greek to all educate people. So the reply from Stelios is excellent. The Empire called ESTERN ROMAN Empire and afte Markianus the Greek ... was named BYZANTINE EMPIRE

  • @ROBHUGHES1453 after 7th century the Byzantine empire started to adopt more and more greek elements ... and by the 8th century the byzantine empire was entirely greek-speaking because constantinople existed in a space where greeks was living with their own traditions, language and their own morals... the name of the empire was "Roman Empire"

  • @ROBHUGHES1453 Also Romans Ceasars were not all Roman, but that does not mean Rome, was not Roman. Byzantium is Greek word for konstantinopolis named by Byzanta King of Megara (near to Athens) when made that city in ancient time. Cappadocia were Greek colonie since Argonauts time. Byzantium is a Greek Empire, because the heart of empire was in Greek land , the Official language was Greek and... Remind me the 3 famous Byzantine Historians who the were and what they say... not what we say today

  • EΣΣΕΤΑΙ ΗΜΑΡ...

  • @tektamos i think he was from an armenian family (but he might have been half greek)

  • Comment removed

  • you are completely right who released a film on Justinian, Heraclies, Basilius the bulgar slayer, or Maneul comnenos, Troy and Alexander are full of critical mistakes. it makes you laugh and at the same time feel anguish.

  • what does the ugly old man richard Gear have to do with the eastern Roman empire ?

  • @MrAugustus88 first of all WAS eastern Roman Empire, since 700 was BYZANTINE EMPIRE. Everything were written in Greek ....if you never knew about that. Second there is NO MOVIE for Byzantine Emperors , so Let me use my imagination for make a movie my own. I didnt tell you enything for Troy, Alexander, Clash of Titans, where yours Directors almost destroy the Greek history , because the NEVER TRY TO OPEN A BOOK to see the facts

  • Sean Connery probably was the best man to play Herakleios, Unfortunately he is done with acting.

  • the most successful greek emperor against the Persian -sasanids

  • @IOANNIS2 True..
