I think lots of people would be worried about what do they do when battery died, are they gonna fall off, etc.
He should start this with typical ICE engine just for introduce it, show people that balancing device works and then next move is transferring to electric.
Thank you so much for posting this kind of videos. I am currently working on a juice that wont be using any kind of preservatives yet it will last and be healthier, am still testing. By watching this kind of videos it actually motivates me to keep on working and keep on testing. Thank you so much.... and hopefully one day you will make a video about my juice.
rural, very low income here. Had Schwinn Stingray Chopper electric bike. Burned up in a fire. Stranded without it; nearest groceries 10mi, round trip, walking; disabled, partially paralized; ppl throw things @ me, scream @ me as I push baby stroller w/groceries. Can't replace; don't make them any more; ones out there outrageously priced. Electric truck good idea. I just pulled bike trailer behind. Could haul bale of hay or 50lb sack of feed.
Must say the design of the bike is awesome especially considering that most places in the West tend to have climates that are not conducive to riding a regular open bike which is more common in tropical countries such as southeast asia and even where i'm from (India) ..I currently dont' ride a bike or use a car in the city i live in but whenever i return to my hometown(which has a temperate climate year round), i love riding my bike. The fresh air & the fun of riding a bike is priceless!
Cargo bike....I want one NOW. I can totally see a couple biz opportunities this vehicle makes possible where I live. Screw the folding feature and electric motor. Give it a 250cc gas engine and 6 speed trans. Yes!
Gyro-stabilized-motorcycle...If the system prevents leaning, then how does it lean to turn? And if all that requires digital electronic control, what happens when it fails (because it will) ? Lifetime rider, just asking...
First, I think this is really cool. But considering that about 30% of the US population overweight, many people won't fit/be comfortable. And compared to old iron (1969 Ford Ranger), these have no soul (just like newer cars). I believe in creativity but don't like the thought that we all must conform to some form of "efficient" politically correct transportation. Many people suffer from an affliction - they love to buy things they do not need with money they don't have. THAT IS THE REAL WASTE.
i like the folding motorcycle idea; i ride a folding bike every day. i think it's a great concept but i'm just wondering what else or how you transport more practical things like grocery store bags in this. it's not every day i would need to transport a flat screen tv or mattress. but a bunch of bags - i would need to move around things like this. i guess i don't understand the technology. but it looks cool.
@AReptileMan The price should be around $16,000 and they're hoping to release it in 2013. It's fully electric with a range of about 150 miles... and should accelerate from 0-to-60 in 6-8 seconds.
@kirstendirksen The range is significantly more than even Zero claims. Where are all of the batteries going? The demonstration doesn't look very stable, even without the added weight of the vehicle, batteries and passenger. Why no demonstration of the vehicle being driven or in motion?
@jaquefroid That would be the (estimated) price for the U.S. I believe that only the scooters were meant for the developing world. I think this one is for the U.S. market.
Danny Kim is AMAZING!!! If (or more like WHEN) his prototype goes to market, he will REVOLUTIONIZE transportation.
I want that covered motorcycle w/ the gyroscope!! (The folding motorcycle is equally amazing.) It addresses parking issues, as well as making it easy to carry light cargo (and it could probably be fitted w/ a roof rack as an option).
Danny has a great eye and his design solutions are just as pleasing to the eye as they are functional. EXCELLENT story! :D
@LovelyHerbanRenewal Yeah but whether you broadcast it to everyone you know the camera is still there, the gps is still there, all the components are still in there. Realistically, something as simple as a trojan virus uploaded to your car means somebody knows everywhere you go and everything you do in front/behind your car (cameras). Add in something like a car/cellphone interface and for all you know, next time your car/phone sync, all your emails and texts are visible to someone.
Well that's all good and well, but where are you going to put the groceries or your kids for that matter? O well that probably doesn't matter cause it's cool looking right. hhmm
@woulfe42 it's revolutionary in that no longer do you need to take your whole family(or worse drive alone by yourself in car) to buy grocery or run daily errands. you can save the environment(taking less space and not wasting gas) by using the bike...i would love to get my hands on one. that's for sure. think about it like this..do you really need to drive in a car to buy your grocery or drop into the post office ..of course, it's not for long distance travel & for taking along your whole family
I worked at a company close to an airport for 17 years, I often recommeneded we place a conference or meeting room out in the open on our roof. With no chairs we would have much shorter meetings and with airplanes coming overhead intermitently, it would shut up the bloviators for a few seconds and give others a chance to speak up and join the conversation.
@Malegnius Good ear. I used a version I found online. It's from a composer, Kevin MacLeod, who- according to his website- "over the past 6 years, I've created about 2,000 pieces of music". I put his website in the text above if you're interested.
Wow. People would love these cargo scooters in Bali and Thailand! Here too, but I mean, they are already largely scooter societies and they always seem to be transporting lots of stuff on them.
I had a 1961 series II diesel landrover which I owned from the mid 1970s to the late 1980s it got 28 mpg from the factory.

@MachOverspeedsPlace I think the giros prevent it from falling over on its side, not from leaning.

The folding nature could be easy to secure too, in a designated area for motorcycle parking... a heavy metal bar through the center, where it folds.
