hey i have a question for everbody hear. i have chickens and here latly i have lost 8 this week. they act drunk and can hardly walk they try to eat. withen 2 days or so they will be dead i have given them antibiotics but it doesnt seem to be helping and i have no posion of any kind around any helpfull hints would help thanks

Well for me what i did was seperate my hens and rooster until late spring so they could"mate"

roosters only fight if there are girls involved. they can happily live in a bachelor flock if there are no hens to make them territorial. Although i have never tried, i have read that if you supply ten hens for each rooster that they will have enough girl attention and be too busy to fight each other.

Excellent pets! I have had some too, in my urban apartment! They jump up on the sofa with you, eat off your plate, even sleep with you if you let them. I even had a blind one who navigated around by listening to radios in various rooms. She could find us by following voices, and she slept on my foot when I washed dishes - snoring. I adore chickens!

They won't fight that much unless there are hens to fight over. Also, it depends on the breed and the pecking order. Some roosters are just laid-back and "rule the roost" without having to pick on the younger roosters or the cockerels.

If you run away, it thinks it has the right to keep attacking you over and over. You have to be brave enough to pick him up and carry him around. :)
