  • Manipulating children to dupe them into paying for $10 socks, three at a time. Is it an IQ test for the kids to figure out they need to buy the product twice and try to be sure all six socks don't match? Does this count as genius in small business today?

Here's an idea: educate children to be aware of sales and marketing -- teach them useful defenses against consumerism.

And the justification for this predation of defenseless minds is the "achievement" of a $40M sock company?

Laissez faire et laissez passer, le monde va de lui même!

  • @PistoleroJesse Unfortunately, people treat this kind of behavior as being all part of the way it goes. This Godin fellow has deluded himself into thinking his oh so clever behavior is creative. I would say he's one of a species of parasite, but a parasite isn't meant to kill the host, so I guess I'd say he's a parasite carrying a fatal disease.

  • This is a great video. Thanks Brian (and Seth) for having the vision to come to Orange County and share your ideas!

  • In high school I bought tons of Argyle socks. I would purposely mismatch them, because i never saw the need to conform. It's really interesting to see Seth bring this topic up.
