I have a huge problem with my hair, I don't know if I should remove it to settle for the growing trend, or keep it and hope the trend dies out.

I think a good way to get rid of your back hair is to buy a hair clipper. Get someone to just shave it for you.

Do it right before a shower. And then just cream yourself up after. Don't use a razor blade, just do a zero or a 1 on it.

Sort of a Catch 22 happening here -- hairy men have a "body image" problem in Western countries because "society" happens to be at war with body hair. They'd be perfectly OK with being hairy if there weren't the peer pressure to shave/trim/manscape from the majority which want men to have "clean" and trim/muscular appearance. It's sad to see companies/media preying on perfectly good (masculine-looking) guys to "improve" their "image." It's not a health issue; it's vanity. Embrace the fur!

@msbobcat Therein lies the underlying problem -- self-confidence should NOT have anything to do with body image; unfortunately, Hollywood/media have determined that there's a particular "look" that projects confidence and success. By focusing on body hair, a lot of young men suffer from self-esteem issues simply by being naturally themselves.

Personally, I think the majority always finds something in a minority to pick on (glasses / braces / overweight / zits, etc.). Embrace the fur, guys!

For guys wanting to use creams, like Nair or whatever...try a little bit on a spot that won't be seen tomorrow. If it works with no irritation then go for it. Everyone's skin is different so there is no perfect rule. Last time I wanted to get my "beach look" ready I tried the Sensitive Skin variation and got freaking chemical burn, but was fine with the exfoliating one. So it's all about what works with your skin and body chemistry.

I actually had laser hair removal done for my neck. I have had about 6 treatments and the cost is about $60 a session. It was $100. Prices are dropping somewhat and the lasers are getting better (no more redness or pain). I live in the south though. We rednecks like low prices :)

Thanks for your reply. I did have the hair trimmed with a medium guard clipper once and it looked awful. Every hair had a blunt cut, which was very unnatural. I'm going to let go of this issue and be happy with what I have.

Many people comment that my legs are my best feature and they're hairy. But I think they may be TOO hairy. I was told that one laser treatment would reduce the density by about 25%. What do you know about that? The people I am closest to say that my hairy legs are sexy and to leave it alone, so I am a little concerned about doing something permanent and regretting it. Unfortunately, the 25 percent won't be even. It will grow back less hair, but it will be patchy looking. So, I would put a medium guard on your hair clippers and trim them up. That is the safest option. I'm in Atlanta

@AlphaMconsulting Actualy, If you opt for a more time and pain consuming option -> waxing that is, the hair will GRADUALY retard, and it will happen in a quite even matter. It is time consuming because it will take a few or rather many waxings before it retards to the state you want it to be. If you choose this, go to a waxing salon. You can do it yourself, but you will need a medium measure of willpower. An even less permanent option is shaving (although clipp it short, before).

I think you need to find more friends who think you look great, rather than listen to society-at-large who don't care about YOU, or who judge you simply because your legs are different than theirs. Same thing happens to me when I shave the back of my legs. So now I just use clippers and take it down with just clippers. May want to do the same thing if you got a wicked rash. Or you may want to loofa the shaved area every day in-order to keep hairs from getting ingrown!
