I am a huge fan of toyota's but lets compare apples to apples ~ I have an LR3 and have had it in some pretty nasty stuff and i can tell you without a doubt for a true 7 passenger SUV it is the best ~ and sorry but it will kill a stock cherokee ~ will it beat up on your modified toyota ~ well it will come closer then you think but it will likely not beat it ~ but find another true 7 passenger SUV that can do what it can ~ H3 i think not H1 yes for twice the price ~ It does rule its realm ~

wow....thats it? i am looking at buying a land rover....and every video i watch....especially this one...i seem to be more unimpressed. I have a 2008 toyota tundra with Nitto 33x10.50x18's and i could do the same thing...why should i spend an extra 20 grand just to have the "name brand"? Yeah they have an extra cool screen to show you what my 4 wheel drive is doing....but what is the selling point? I looked at an '05 LR3 4 $30K, 6K miles. Why is it half the price than a 2008? DEPRECIATE MUCH?

I know what your saying. I have a discovery and I want one of these but I feel like it would be downgrading because it doesn't look like it does as good off road as the series one or two :(

Yeah i can carry 7 comfortably anywhere, the entire back seat reclines, and still have an entire bed to haul heaps of gear. The 2008 LR3 gets 13mpg at best, and my tundra gets about 15mpg at worst. The 33's fit nicely with no lift and no rubbing, although im thinking about a leveling kit to even things out. I paid 37k for it new. The LR3 Runs at about 60k new, then depreciates half that in a year. Thinking smart in a recessing economy, and getting more than enough reliable bang for my buck.

as a matter of fact, the land rover gets 18 MPG with a petrol engine. with a diesel it gets nearly twice that much. i get the whole economy thing but the land rover is just so much better, it should cost a lot.

If you can't afford to buy a HSE then dont bitch about it and don't buy one. Its clear the advantage of a HSE compared to the lower spec models and they are all documented on the net. So if you dont want a nav screen etc then dont fucking buy it.
