once i downloaded opera 10.52 it kept on crashing and freezing on me. I downloaded all of the browsers and to me safari should be in 1st place but then i looked at its memory usage and thats why i don't use it so like u said duncan, opera is the best browser but it still has crashing and freezing problems but hopefully they fix it
i have opera 10.50 and google chrome 5.0 and personally i recommend chrome 5, its just faster, it always maintains one constant browsing spped rather than opera and will be fast then slow, and it just more editible and you can adjust things to suit you more, the thing i dont like most about oper 10.50 is its a long process adding and going to bookmarks and other things as opposed to chrome, chrome has my vote
when i updated to 10.5, it was constantly crashing, so i switched to firefox. however, i just recently updated to 10.51, so we'll see if they fixed the stability issues.
Opera is the best browser. It's the fastest, safest, most convenient to use, and can be configured quite easily. I can't think of a single downside. It's such a shame only 2% of the market uses it.

the silly thing i found with ffox and opera is some websites will work with ff pw manager, while some work with opera. some sites only work with one or the other...

Opera works with Windows 7's feature of popping up a display of all the open tabs that are in a single browser window when you hover over the browser icon in the task bar. Neither Chrome nor FF do that. Keep it up Norway!
Very nicely done set of reviews. Chrome is my primary browser. I tried Opera 10.50 based on some articles and this presentation sealed the deal. I was impressed that Opera worked on my bank site since Chrome and FF wouldn't until later iterations. That may have to do more with the bank's web site than the browser. Opera was fast but would not load Pogo chess. I didn't want to deal with sorting out Java. Chrome used to have Java issues but has since resolved most.
@lutmn dont forget torrent downloader its customizable works best with Areo W7 can be masked as other browsers shiny!!!!!!!!! and best of all it can block those gay ass survey sites when your browsing for something important

First I used Firefox, then Opera (1 week and I had issues), I turned to Chrome (much faster than Firefox, same with Opera), after some updates it started to be slow anc consume a lot of RAM memory + I can add that if you're bookmarking some pages, each time is more slower. Right now is still is my pc and I can say IE is faster than Chrome (with 35 bookmarked websites and after 6 months). When Opera 10 appeared, I changed back to Opera, and I'm most happy than ever.

Who cares who copied who. The fact is that these videos are bull and Opera sucks balls so much that it should be with IE. Opera is slow as hell. doesn't load pages fully. And trying to watch these youtube videos with Opera 10.5 is like watching satellite in bad weather giving you spots and lag constantly. And Apple just sucks anyway altogether so I'm gonna stick with Chrome.

It existed much before other web browsers, was the first browser to have a "speed dial" was the first browser to have tabs, the only browser to have a turbo mode, and opera unite. It *was* the fastest web browser way back when, then fell behind, and now it's back up at the top.
If anything, Google Chrome copied nearly every aspect of Opera.

barely. tbh Chrome and Opera shouldn't be compared as they are both the best browsers currently available. It just depends on your personal preference (currently I find Opera suits me more).
coming from Firefox you'll love the difference. I also guarantee you almost anything you used addons for in Firefox can be done with a fresh install of Opera.

Opera 10.5 made me switch from Chrome.
Oper has everything, Adblock, IRC client, CSS apply feature, Mail, Contacts etc.

Opera: No sandboxing, basically they copied the chrome GUI and changed it a little.
The only reason not to sue chrome right about now is the high memory usage...
