True. George is still around, doing local events. I saw him recently at a screening of "Carol Channing" Larger Than Life" documentary at the Paley Center For Media in Beverly Hills. He still looks well, and is very sought after by fans, very polite & cordial to the media.

I met Mr. Chakiris in the mid 70's when he came to Milwaukee, WI along with Rita Moreno in a production of Guys and Dolls. Our high school put on that musical that year and I and a few friends went to see their production. We were able to get some VIP passes so we had the opportunity to meet him. He spent quite a bit of time with us asking us questions about our show, even though we were just kids and was very down to earth. A very nice man! I still have the program that he autographed for me.

@Rollman1 At this shindig up in Burbank called the Hollywood Show... they do reunions for classic films, etc. They got George, Russ Tamblyn and Rita Moreno together. George was a great guy to meet and Rita liked my deep voice!
