I partially just am not the best real life drawer, and in general it felt sort of like a cop out in a way. I prefer to do things from 'pure' scratch. However doodling things is still a good way to plan, even if you don't trace over.
XP can do that. It's a tad tricky to do. I generally only recolor with it, shading I only occasionally use it for, only when I'm feeling... weird I guess.
To do it, you need your primary color set to what you want to be changed. Your secondary needs to be set to what you want to change it to. Then your right click and drag over the area.
Yeah, I did the evo for Venemoth and the pre evo for Heracross. However I am not in the process of going back and fixing up all my Fakemon to make them better.

Ok so the way you did it was:
1 outline drawing
2 fill in the fakemon with white and color around the borders white
3 color outline black
4 fine tune
5 color it in
6 shade
7 redo borders
Is this correct?

where you use the eraser to shade some parts but doesnt cover a certain color. is that something windows XP cant do?
