sorry but this is what newbies always does, too much contrast feel. I know in the most films you add a bit of contrast but this is what the newbies creates. Actually you did it a bit worse so if you just turn down the contrast feeling and exposure down a little bit then it should look fine. But I know I did like that before too but it's something everyone goes through (color uncorrection)
I really like how you have specific effects for a video.
But perhaps you could also have a video where you give an introduction to all the effects and explain some possible things we could do with it, or even combined with other effects. Maybe even some plugins?
Because I know it takes awhile to make a tutorial and it might be a long time till one specific one that any of us might need comes out. So an overview will help us start to be able to get creative on our own. Thanks!
I like the look of this, I actually did a short film with a similar look and achieved similar, if not better results just by using the Color-Corrector 3-way in FCP. I decided not to add in the film grain, though I could have, because the assignment did not call for it. I'm looking forward to investigating color further, though.
It's an OK tutorial, good to know for them newbies out there :)
If I may point out something, I would encourage you to toggle grade on/off when you show things like this. Seeing you scrub through the material isn't really as interesting as original vs. final grade. :)
That's what I do on my website, show specific shots before and after grade so future clients might understand what's done and hire me for a gig.
Great tutorial! I'd love to see more of them. :)
