Desert punks ending pissed me off at first, but then I thought about it. From episode one, we're sorta told that you can't trust anyone in the desert. And Desert Punk's reception was so, everyone knew hims a dirt bag and even the narration pretty much told us, do not trust anyone.. especially punk!

Then we began trusting Kanta thinking he was misunderstood.. The ending showed us, Kanta really was just a scum bag roach. Haha, its a great ending and fitting for the legend of The Desert Punk!!!!!

The way the manga is going Kanta is already dead. In the Manga Volume 12 shows that Kanta Died, and Starting in Vol.13 which is 3 years later, Kosuna is the Lead Character. if you want proof go read the Manga

@suikoden4 i checked a sight and two parties are currently working on it as of a few months ago. the first volume isnt past the script-only stage, it hasnt been placed in the volumes yet and packed for sale and/or order. and anyway though the anime and manga differed at episode 19-24, the fate of kanta will probably have a similar effect, though he might be more forced to do something like that. personally, im not kanta, but if i were him, id go for the fame and get people to respect me more.

@waj9876 Whether you saw the ending coming or not it still doesn't change the fact that bugger all actually got resolved as far the story goes. A bit more of the episode dedicated to Punk's reasons for going to the side of the Goverment would have made it more acceptable to me.

I mean the guy has said previously that he'd never work for them and now he was after they made him an offer. A bit more details into this would have made it better. But the way it was just seemed crap.
