  • This one did not miss us by much. My youngest is still afraid of dark clouds and thunder now.

  • Damn...that's a big ass supercell...

  • Tanner..the same town that TWO violent tornadoes went through on April 3, 1974! "First Tannner" and "Second Tanner." This is amazing :-)

  • @ChristopherSaindon The same 2 hit my grandparents farm in Franklin Co. TN in 1974. I looked up the nws records, and they were both ef-5 tornados. According to the nws, they were the largest tornados that close in proximity in u.s. history! My grandfather got everyone in the cellar except himself. He stood in the kitchen and watched them take his barn, corn crib, and tool shed.

  • LOOK at the inflow at 0:24!! Oh man this was BEAUTIFUL work!!

  • Glad you are okay. We had our share of them up here in the Chattanooga area - one an F4 not far from us...what an unbelievable day! Thanks for sharing (and next time, don't get so close!).

  • that tornado is a BEAST!!!!

  • this is the biggest tornado i've ever seen on vid.

  • @robinb4life It's definitely the largest I have ever seen in my 13 yrs of professional chasing. It was around 3/4 - 1 Mile wide in the video.

  • That tornado was coming up very fast!

  • STOPPING A TORNADO = AIRBORNE M.A.S.E.R

  • Christ almighty, the tail cloud on that wedge was ENORMOUS!

  • y u no recorded more of it?

  • @ldkspardadeuce Actually when I stopped recording the tornado was actually about 400 yards from me. Think about it this way it was moving at 60mph and 400 yards away. I had approximately 14 seconds before it hit me. In 14 seconds I couldn't see the road and needed both hands on the steering wheel or I would have been a fatality

  • @erikperozo i thought it was 70mph from what i heard after the storms

  • youry slamming tht gas

  • In May 2011 I made an You-Tube video titled STOPPING A TORNADO = AIRBORNE M.A.S.E.R + C.F.D WEATHER PATTERNS. I had documented the theroy in June 2010 and afyerwards threw it in the filing cabinet. After losing 2 friends in the Phill Cambell Ala. 2011 tornado I decided to make the you-tube video. I have sent it to the t.v. show ROCKET CITY REDNECKS as a possible show. I have different technology demo. to back it up.

  • It's so big it barely looks like a tornado

  • The Mahdi, Christ and The Messiah have all returned. Your pastor isn't teaching you this because he/she doesn't know. Forget what you have been taught and study math, science and religion for yourself. It will help you to understand the time that we're living in and what must be done.

  • Happy birthday @epicnation360DreamZZ. Judging by your typed use of the language (wuz, dat ect) you must have turned... Let me guess? 3 or 4 on 4/27/2011. Congratulations!

  • Next time... Get-on in there, but don't forget to leave the camera running.

  • Clouds are low?

  • man its wuz my birthday dat day

  • Glad you got the heck outta there!! That's crazy scary just looking at it. Your adrenaline must have really been rushing man!! WOW!! GOD BLESS

  • Oh, and for anyone who can hear the WHNT 19 meteorologist at the beginning, and/or anyone who remembers listening to his forecasting that day, did anyone else giggle when he said "tornader percussions?"

  • Geez. you were right in that monster's path! Thanks for sharing this vid, now I know what that thing looked like. hard to believe my family and I were only 10 miles away from it! As you were filming, 4 people were being killed in that tornado :(

  • WOW you are so lucky it didnt get you I am so happy it didnt. You gotta be a brave one to be so close. God bless you,

  • Dude! I was there with you while you were filming this. I have footage too. I just passed under the bridge traveling north in my semi when it exploded through those trees. I hit the shoulder and grabbed my camera. As soon as I edit it and get all the shakey parts out I will post it. It got dark as night by the time I got my camera on it. Then I got footage out my passenger window as it headed northeast. I have already posted the Cullman tornado as "tornado near Cullman" Username KYTRAY

  • no matter how far this guy drives, it looks

like it's coming closer and closer....

  • Wow!!

  • who disliked??

  • Wow, thanks for posting this. It's a good thing you moved because it came almost directly across that interchange. I live about a mile from the path it took across Mooresville Rd and Highway 72. A very intense storm, for sure.

  • look between 34 and 35 lightning strikes a pole

  • Me and my friends were 15 miles away from this tornado in hodges al we have a little bit of it filmed and we barely made it into a cellar as a ef2 tornado came thru my sister lost everything she owned and four or five ppl I knew lost their lives so let's hope that everyone who lost loved ones and their homes gets thru this disaster

  • I live in Madison and work at the Browns Ferry nuclear power plant so I cross over I-65 at this exit everyday. The damage in this area is extensive and I know that you barely made it out of there with very little time to spare.

  • Good thing you made a quick decision. The forward motion on that storm was insane.

  • Is this the tornado that destroyed Harvest? From Nick Davis to Ford's Chapel? And Anderson Hills?

  • @Kgivans2 Yes this tornado continued on and devastated the Harvest community.

  • That's the wedge shape one I saw on the ALFA camera network on the waff website.

  • I was heading in that direction around that time. My dad was stranded on 565. Road was block so I had to turn back around and then we saw what looked like a second tornado forming a few hundred yards from us.

  • This was so close to my house. I felt helpless watching it touch down!

  • It missed my house by less than half a mile. The neighborhood just down the street is gone the destruction is horrible.

  • This was taken at exit 347 on I-65 looking southwest towards southern Tanner,AL at exactly 4:23 PM!

  • Where were you when you took this video? Which direction were you looking? I think this is the one that passed within a quarter of a mile from our neighborhood! Is this the same one that hit East Limestone, after Moulton?

  • @Renaebug

Yes this also hit East Limestone. The path length of this thing was ridiculous.

  • Yes this is the tornado that took out the radar! it was moving at 60 mph so I didn't get much video before I got hit trying to get south of it.

  • @erikperozo your safe were u are

  • @erikperozo The tornado hit your car?

  • @TheMightykaz Oh yeah I actually drove through the inflow jet of the tornado. So basically I drove through the out edge of it. I actually couldn't even see the road but kept my foot on the gas. I was going about 100mph trying to get away. Not exactly the safest thing to do as a chaser but I was confident and knew what I was doing. I do not recommend this for anyone who isn't educated in Tornadoes or the environments they form in.

  • this is the one that took out the doppler tower on 31 isn't it?

  • OMG!

  • Holy Christmas! Looks like it gained on you pretty fast!

  • That is huge
