This is interesting. I had similar experiences back in the early-to-mid 90s, in Kansas, when I was in my 20s. This was before the Internet was available to the masses. I was bored with he bar scene and decided to place a personal ad in my city's newspaper. The responses were channeled through a computerized voicemail system. Almost all of the responses were from men who identified as straight. I me with several and they all wanted a gay sexual experience only, nothing more.
