Luckily, I revamped my Godzilla collection to DVD, so I have every movie now. Godzilla 1985 and Godzilla vs. Biollante are still on VHS because they haven't yet seen a Western DVD release.

I'm a bit skeptical of the new 2014 American remake myself because when you take a serious approach to Godzilla outside of Japan, he completely loses his symbolism as a metaphor for the affects of nuclear weapons because, luckily enough, the U.S. has yet to experience what it would be like having two nuclear bombs dropped on us, so Godzilla loses just about all deeper meaning when he's stomping around the U.S. Here, he's just another giant monster, not a reminder of the horrors of nuclear war.

Well in Godzilla VS Destroyah there was Godzilla jr. One of the 2 Godzillas died and the other lived (i can't remember which one died).

None of the Godzilla movies are really all that connected. Some are, but most are not.

OK...first, Godzilla, Jr was killed by Destroyer. Then, Godzilla gets seriously angry and attacks Destroyer. However, the strain proved too much for Godzilla and, sadly, the Heisei Godzilla melted down. A very heartbeaking scene. However, Junior is revived by the massive release of radiation and mutates into a fully grown Godzilla. The films from Godzilla v Biollante onwards to Godzilla v. Destroyer are direct sequels.
