I gues I really am the only Star Wars fan in the world who doesn't have anything to complain about. I don't mind the prequels, the special editions and Jar Jar has never made me angry.
I actually feel that this is a great time to be a Star Wars fan, the franchise is greater than ever. You have The Force Unleashed, The Clone Wars, Celebrations and soon the films will be re-released in 3D and on Blue-Ray. There is no hating here George, just admiration.
@TheNile182 I don't know how you can possibly feel that way. There is absolutely no redeeming quality to any of the prequels. All 3 are in the top 10 of my worse movies ever made.
@fukimotoz No redeeming quality? Well I have to agree that "The Phantom Menace" was kind of dull, and "Attack of the Clones" is somewhat slow-paced. But to me "Revenge of the Sith" could very well be the best of all six films (or second after "Empire Strikes Back"). But there really is nothing that I hate. But I guess it's easy for me to say, I grew up with the prequels and I am not a very sensitive person. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoy the originals very much.
@TheNile182 If you understood story structure, you wouldn't be saying that. The prequels are lifeless, incoherent and, I think, could be used for torture if need be. I may have liked them as a kid, but when you reach adult age and have some higher education under your belt, you realize how egregious the prequels are.
@LicoriceLain Well you have to admit, "Revenge of the Sith" was impressive. Many people say that it redeems the prequel trilogy. I'm sorry, but I can't help it, I can't feel any hatred towards the prequels or Jar Jar, I just can't. You're probably right about episode 1 and 2 being lifeless, but I can't see how episode 3 was. If you want to discuss hating films with me then start a discussion about "Cirque de Freak: The Vampires Assistant", that's a movie that I hate.
@TheNile182 I think the moment I knew that I disliked the prequels was when I tired to think of moments from them, anything, and I kept drawing up blanks. I wouldn't necessarily say they shouldn't exist, but I do feel they are the direct result of an artist-businessman's ego rather than a collaborative effort. Same thing with Avatar.
Saying Star Wars is just a movie is like saying the bible is just a book. At face value their both fiction but some people believe there's something more on moral and spiritual level. It's obviously not meaningless if one feels the need to tell other people that it's meaningless.
It's sad. SW, Emp...awesome, best movies ever made and then, ROTJ was ok...and the prequals. Terrible movies. He went from Awesome to Terrible we have 2 of the best movies of all time (Special Edtions sucked/not nec) and then we have 5 others Clone Wars is as bad or worse the phantom. George, you've ruined your franchise. Congrats! Job well done. Ater Empire there is no SW...everything else blows, ROTJ is ok but that's it. You lost me after the first 5 mins of phantom, back in June of '99...
The ORIGINAL original trilogy (you know what I mean) was the best in the bloody franchise. This whole "clone wars" thing is not at all what the originals were. Not to mention that George Lucas refuses to restore the ORIGINAL originals. I might be worng on that last thing, but someone can correct me, please.
@3y3raven i am bummed to watch the "remastered" versions of the beloved original trilogy :( i always wish lucas hadn't mucked them up with the "added" features. wtf added features?! when did the fans ask for "added features"?!
Agreed. I am a total Nerd, I admit it. I guess its just like anything silly or pop cultural. Someone does a bad cover of one of your favorite songs and it becomes a hit. Your favorite player blows the deciding play in the playoffs. Bad movie adaptaion of one your favorite books (Green Mile [movie sux, serial book was awesome]). Its silly but we all get angered about things that really have little impact or importance. Nerd anger, just as stupid as road rage or sports beserkers, but just as real

@mrvladycastellanos - If you researched Akira Kurosawa on Wikipedia you would have immediately read (in the first paragraph) the following:
''Regarded as one of the most important and influential filmmakers in the history of cinema''
Something Lucas will never be!
