  • Actually, C'thun is the creator of the Qiraji, the forerunners of the silithid. The Faceless ones are all lead by Yogg-saron, and what Arthas fought had nothing to do with C'thun, it was a part of Yogg-saron.

  • I remember hearing this voice while I was online. I was in the mines... the cliff place with the dwarfs. I was freaken out. I took off my head phones and was like looking at my friend. "Did you say something?" and he was like... "No... I've been grinding."

I put the heads phones back on then i hear something else a little louder.

    "Wtf.."

    "What dude?"

"'Im hearing a voice... come and listen for a minute." He listen for like 2 min and says.

    "Don't hear anything."

    "Think im going crazy?"

    "Yep."

  • after hearing the whispers of Yogg, everything makes sense, everything its so clear now, he might be right after all...

  • Oh god. I just jizzed to the epicness of this voice.

  • Is it wierd to get boner?

  • @0tmo0n it would be weird not to

  • the coolest part about this is that he only whispers one person in the raid, not everyone, so if you say something about it no one will know what you're talking about, deepening the decent into MADNESS!!

  • I still remember when I did AQ... god I shit my pants when I heard C'thun I didn't know what the fudge that was and I learned it was the last boss talking to me. And good god was I afraid when his voice just suddenly came........good days ^^

  • It really is sad, that only like 1% of the people watching this video knows what Yogg-Saron - Or C'thun - references to.

  • @TheLoukku the giant ass world eating worm from norse mythology?

  • @Muskokona No.

The Old Gods as a whole are a huge reference to H. P. Lovecraft. -.-

  • @apain1995 i know that i was jk and its a huge reference to cthulhu mythos nya

  • @Muskokona I had to be sure you weren't a total dumbass. :D

  • there's also one when he says "It was your fault..."

would be a funny thing if you ninja pull and then the group wipes and all of a sudden you hear, it was your fault...

would be a bit creepy feeling.

  • This can also be heard in Ymirheim Saronite Mines

  • C'thun's voice is so much better then Yogg's, he sounds like some crazy corrupt king where as with C'thun you get the feel that he's really an Old God.

  • @OmegaSS4 I agree C'thun's voice just creeps the hell out of me. I expected better from the "Death God".

  • @OmegaSS4 c'thun is crazy and corrupt> leader of facless ones > see wowwiki :)

  • @painxxxl, C'thun is the faceless one. On Warcraft 3 path of the damned, it shows Arthas and Anu'barrak or however u say it. They both banished the Faceless one.

Of course i do not know how C'thun ended up from Azjol'Nerub to Ahn'Qiraj, but im sure it will turn up someday.

  • MY MISTAKE: It is Legacy of the damned

  • when can u actually hear that in-game???

  • Comment removed

  • Holy crap, so THAT is who kept whispering to me in Whispering Gulch and Ahn'Karet. Damn you Yogg Soran I am filing a restraining order against you lol!

  • WTF those aren't the real whispers. They ARE:Are you sure you know your friends? Hope....is an illusion.... you are not safe in this life.....and the next that was what i heard so far.and i heard it somwhere in howling fjord and storm peaks.then that voice just chilled my spine it felt as if i was gonna see somthin terrifyin right back of me but i didnt see anything.people heres some advice:if you starte hearing voices---turn down the volume WARNING:voices are quite disturbing

  • @DevilFool12 And you know what is even more messed up? They will program it so that certain random players (if you are in a group) will hear it and not the others so its not a "group whisper" but only you hear it. Which makes it even more creepy when you try and tell your friends about it but they don't know what you are talking about....adding even more to the disturbing ruse that you may be going INSANE! :O

  • god...no wonder Deathwing went crazy.....having this guy and a whole load of other old gods nagging at him, practically yelling at him in his head...i actually feel sorry for him...after what that over grown, mouthy tadpole has done to him

  • uuuh creepy

  • C'thun owns Yoggy. Just sayin' : P

  • what a fuckin pervert

  • Your heart... will... explode...

  • c'thun wins all.

    play this

    /script PlaySoundFile("Sound\\Creature\\CThun\\CThunYourFriends.wav")

    and see.

  • So creepy! *shivers*.....but sexy creepy neverless hahahaaha!

  • c'thuns voice is creepier

  • What's that yogg sandvich? Kill them all? GOOD IDEA!!!

  • @OMGBEARS TF2 Reference = 100% win. Good job.

  • sounds like someone talking into a trash can...

    still sounds friggin scary :O

  • I knew about the whispers but I was just sitting there and had the warcraft window down when I heard it for the first time on my third time doing the quest. It was so faint and creepy i felt like crying lol I was like, I didn't know there was actualy audio!! lol

  • this is the saronite mind guy right.

  • Yeah. He wispers you in whisper gulch, and it's really annoying while you're trying to quest.

  • creepy O.o

  • Pure..awsome

  • Cool but... "Your heart will...explode" > All of this

  • @NickyDahl I forget who says it but I think "Your friends will not mourn your death" or w/e is better

  • C'thun whispering to you in French was actually the creepiest of the old god whispers.

  • were can I find his whispers in french? :D

  • Google is a good place to start.

  • cool :D

  • my first whisper in Howling Fjord was: you are not safe in this life or the next

  • NO WTF? This is exactly what a faceless when in ymjierheim says to you but you dont hear his voice? he is called Dark Speaker (something).

  • this happenes in a cartain place in icecrown, the place with the faceless one. from what i remember the faceless one is sending the whispers i icecrown, and the one in whispering gulch is yogg-saron, the one in icecrown could also be yogg saron channeling whispers through the faceless one, as the faceless ones are basicaly worship yogg-saron

  • I don't remember hearing these in Howling Fjord.. or maybe I just dont remember. But i'm pretty sure I haven't heard these.

  • They only happen whilst in Whispering Gulch, makes sense now, huh?

  • Ahh, yes it does! I should probably go back there... even if im in Grizzly Hills just cuz I wanna hear these whispers xP

  • Oh and btw the Maelstrom idea dosnt seem so bad because Lovecraft once wrote a book about a village of fisherman who all worship and mutate themselves for a Sea God and the drawings show a giant green heap of flesh and muscle and im hoping that could be an Old god, so whoever created the theory that Maelstrom could be in the next exspansion, MAD PROPS TO YOU.

  • C'THULU

  • Apparently there are more than just 5 old gods because there are currently 2 already dead ones (Darkshore and Bone Wastes) but im guessing the 5 people are talking about now are still alive and/or imprisoned. Possible dungeons for next exspansion/patch are Uldum (Tanaris), Something new for CoT, Tomb of Sargeras (like in wc3), Emerald dream (doubtful though), we might actually get to see the Maelstrom and if any of you know Lovecraft, his drawings are what the old gods are based off.

  • Maelstorm and Emerald Dream will be the two final expansion pacts released by blizzard. They have been finalized:) Hope this helps. I am also a lore nerd btw so I get where your coming from.

  • Wrong , They'res going to be more then just those 2 but mael is the only CONFIRMED one... but if they dont do emerald dream that would SUCK

  • ahaha nice try the next expansion is called Cataclysm................ its on their website and their talking about new races

  • @KidsandDrugs " and if any of you know Lovecraft, his drawings are what the old gods are based off." thats C'Thun if im correct

  • wrong kil jeaden created the lich king from spirt of orc shaman named ner zhul

    sargeras is kil jeaden master

  • @undead4500 and if im right, sargeras is a corrupt titan, or a dark titan, something like that

  • yeah he is and 2nd most powerful titan his brother is a little more powerful then him

  • Next is probably maelstrom and as for the Sargeras expansion im hoping there's a dungeon for Tomb of Sargeras from wc3. and I jsut hope that we get to see pandaria (if you press M for map and look towards tthe maelstrom and go downwards you see a diamond sort of shaped island which im hoping is Pandaria

  • It's like how Kael'thas isnt actually dead even though you do that quest to bring back his head, ITS ONLY A QUEST and so therefore, lorewise he's probably still alive.

  • old god from Darkshore??

  • if i remember correctly due to the curse of the flesh the old gods "bestowed" upon the earthen they cannot die. And they should not die because along with them all living beings of Azeroth will die as well. The earthen now are mostly the dwarves and gnomes, but this curse affects all beings i think.

  • There are 5 Old Gods. C'thun(dead), Yogg-saron(dead), ???(Darkshore, dead), One is controlling the emerald dream(nightmare), and I cant remember the 5th

  • C'Thun and Yogg-Saron arn't dead, they have been imprisoned

  • They are dead now :x

  • lore wise there alive

  • i guess you mean their, if so

both have been killed by raids, so they are not alive anymore, why should they be alive? :x

  • Ever heard about the Warcraft Lore?

I guess not. Anyway, just because they have been killed by raids, doesn`t mean they are dead in the lore. So no, they are alive lore wise.

  • from the story sure, but the story of wow is retarded because nothing you kill is actually dead, i'd love to play/see something useful made out of the lore. I know what you mean

  • some stuff does bring through as killed, as Zuluhed the Whacked is confirmed dead, according to an NPC in WotLK who patrols around wyrmrest temple, and a mention of Nefarian's death is in BC

  • I only hear this when I'm doing the daily quest: Slaves To Saronite.

  • Theres an ally quest (maybe horde too. im not sure) in which you have to go to an area surronded by crazed dwarves. his whispers are badass IMO

  • Horde can get it too, creepy stuff.

  • is there anyway you can create a macro to add in voices such as boss qoutes from yogg or c'thun so like if i killed another player or i died i could have a really sick voice addon. if there is anyway i can do this please let me know. its kind of like when you are playing a death knight and the lich king will whisper you something sick like "mercy is for the weak."

  • Yeah, it's simple, too. The hard part is finding the voice script (or it could be easy, iono, I never looked).

    E.g.

    /cast Shield Slam

    /runscriptc'thunyadayada

Wowhead usually has the voice scripts in the comments section for the boss or bosses.

  • next expansion wer gonna defeat sargeras and that will be the end, of the world of warcraft.

  • Perhaps the Emerald Dream is next.

  • Actually, it will be the Maelstrom. Visit shadowpriestDOTcom and read the news.

  • Eh maybe. But there are so many other ideas. I give it two more expansions. One more level expansion but yeah Sargeras will be the last if not one of them.

  • its maelstrom next, then sargeras. They will improvise after that.

  • Eeeep......creepy.....

  • this gave me the shivvers...im no kid like - but the voice is just creepy.

  • *scared* :(

  • Old Gods = Most badass and scary creatures in WoW.

  • Get the voice from the whispering gorge. I was in there questing with two friends and they never heard it!!!! But I heard it.... I know I heard it! I am not CRAZY!!! *twitch* X.@

  • but Ner'zhul was takeing over by arthors in the end when they join together in rise of the lich king read the last page u see good book

  • You are confusing old gods with elemental lords. Learn your warcraft lore!

  • The quest with the bad ore and the insane miners - not randomly

  • C'thun is so awesome that he is the ONLY boss ever to be considered impossible to beat in the patch he was released, which is why they had to release a new patch after that with better gear to actually stand a chance, a slim one at that.

  • Stryfe1000; that is not entirely correct. In the patch where C'Thun was released he was impossibel to kill due to that his "green" beam autokilled everything after a little while.

They did not release new gear so he would be possible to kill, they stopped him autokilling with his green beam, after that he was taken down pretty fast. The figh was very much like the Yogg-Saron fight. once you've learned to handle all his phases it was a pretty free kill.

  • Fine: C'thun is so awesome that he was the only boss who was impossible to beat when he was 1st released due to whatever damn reason.

  • This is true from what I read, but as it stands, one of the current bosses in wow after the Ulduar release that still hasn't been beaten yet is Algalon the Observer, the hard mode Ulduar secret boss. There has yet to be a reported win by any guild on him.

  • Ensidia has beat him so far, there's others also, dont remember names

  • most of the good guilds actually have done it

what ensidia recently did though was to pwn algalon

  • they beat algalon 15th of may or 18th in the evening

  • During the events of The Sundering, an Old God manifested itself in an attempt to salvage the summoning of Sargeras through use of the Demon Soul. After the Old God's plans were thwarted and Zin'Aszhari collapsed into the swelling Maelstrom, Azshara heard the dark whispers that transformed her and her followers into the naga. It is highly likely that the Old God remains near the Maelstrom.

  • when i heard these when questing around northrend i thought it was a bug or something XD

  • whoa. try listening to this at the same time as the c'thun whispers. it's really creepy

  • this sounds like something Cthulu would say

  • This made me go insane in Howling Fjord. Tough, im kinda dissapointed when it showed up that Yoggy was a huge, goddamned fish.

  • Thank you... I was dissapointed too, that they made Yogg... A mother fucking fish...

  • well as C'thun he is an old god. and if u look at C'thun he looks like a freak to not a fish more of an octopuss with lots of eyes. Old gods r ment tolook like shit

  • C'thun The Forgotten One

    Yogg-Saron The Fierce One.

    (unknown) (unknown)

  • Actually, there are said to be 5 Old Gods:

    C'Thun

    Yogg

And unkown maybe dead Old God in Darkshore(Master's Glaive)

And 2 that are maybe currently still imprisoned.

  • I've never heard of 5, but thats pretty cool.

I've heard of the wise one too.

  • one died in dark shore.. anothher in the bone wastes. .the last old god is gonna appear in the merald dream which is the next exspansion

  • either the Emerald Dream will be something released in this expansion (plenty of room to do it in) or be made it's own expansion. I believe that the naga in the Malestrom will be the next expansion, and the Titans returning to Azeroth to (clense it and start over) will be final expansion where we will get to be lvl 100 and have freakin warlocks soloing onyxia rofl. Can you imagine lv 100 death knight? that would be like Naxx 20 man? PWNT!

  • Mabye since the Xpack this time was the scourge now it might go to sargeras =D it would be awesome to down the creator of the burning leigon

  • I doubt Sargeras would be in this expansion. They would save him for the like final boss of the final expansion pack. We all know how powerful the Lich King is. Sargeras could kill like 10 Lich Kings.

  • eh i guess that is kinda true, since he did create Archimonde and KJ and they were hard as hell in BC

  • actualy he didin't creat kj and archimonde.

they were eredar. Arhimonde and KJ + Vaelen were best friends, untill vaelen touched one of the naaru stones, which gave him a vision about sarageras plan to corrupt all of the eredars

  • Sargeras is responsible for ALL (and i mean all) the obstacles in the game. The Legion, the Scourge, all the bullshit.

  • Isn't that the Undeath Titan?

  • i have a theory and that is that sargeras controls the lich king

  • Nice theory :3. But its false, the only reason Ner'zhul created.. well became the lich king was to rise up against the burning legion. Yeah Im a nerd so what :3.

  • Even the old gods?

  • Warlocks soloing Onyxia on 100? It have been done on 70 \o/

  • Who are you telling me, that Blizzard artists made the Old Gods... Look bad... = /

  • suppose to be influcend by Chtulu Menos or whatever it was called, Cthulu looked like a giant squid man, and Ctun looked like a sea anomene.

The forgotten ones look like mollisks, who knows what's next, a giant whale, maybe a dolphin or a shark? I say bring on the fish men!!

  • @Antheilo they should of mad him like some form of giligan from Bleach imo

  • thats the dumbest idea ive ever heard

  • you see... these are the voice that drove me insane and caused me to kill all my allies... :)

  • you also get these in Ahn'Kahet... or atleast ive gotten them there

  • lol Blizzard really likes Lovecraft

  • Yogg saron is the new C'thun =)

  • yup blizz finally made an instance that takes some skill

  • only hard mode... # sigh #

  • ya = (

  • lol Ulduar isnt really that hard...

  • My guild mates have turned against me ? Them bastards... they are all going to die.

  • BRrRrR... his voice is evem uglier

  • i swear those phrases sound the same as the ones in howling fjord and borean tundra

  • These voices made some for some very interesting RP on my server with my guild during some of the quests in Icecrown.

  • OLD GODS SCARE THE SHIT OUTA ME

  • I always wondered what the mysterious voice that whispered to me was while I quested in Icecrown.

  • that voice reminds me of silent hill :S

  • in the Maelstrom the Naga capital Nazjatar lies,so im not 100% sure that an old god is there to.

  • If you have played Wc3 you will know that arthas and anub'arak battled with a forgotten one,not an old god. how the 2 other old gods we're destroyed i dont know. And the old gods are parasites yes,but if we kill an old god azeroth wont be destroyed, only some of the species. for example, the old gods made the "Curse of flesh" if you have done uldaman, uldum quests, halls of stone and ulduar(ptr) you will learn alot more about the old gods and such,

  • The one in darkshore is a forgotten one, they live deep beneath the earth and its those that the nerubians worship. There we're 5 old gods in the beginning, 2 we're "killed" before the time of wow,c'thun was "killed" in AQ and yogg-saron will be defeated in ulduar, that makes it 1 old god still alive. rumors sais that he resides beneath the land of tirisfal glades. :D

  • I think one old god is supposed to be trapped in the Maelstrom

  • Given your comment is 5 days old I still like to comment on it. It makes sense! Why else would Tirisfal have a guardian? I dont believe there is an old god that resides at the Mealstrom, that would be the Naga Queen who supported Sargeras during the first invasion.

  • In the lore they seal a deal with an old god to get their aquatic form. They are serpentine just like the serpents in Molten Core.

  • I thought it was the sundering of the well of eternity energies that transformed them.

  • All the old gods whisper. yogg sarons whispers are in mny opinion way better then C'thun. i cant wait to fight yogg saron in uludar.

  • god! You don't want to do that yet! Trust meh.. It wasn't fun.

  • recka the one in darkshore IS dead and was killed by norgannon the guy that gave malygos his power because he was being cocky to the greatfather king of the titans so he sent norg to kill him and banish his soul into space thus creating the twisting nether which hold all of everything in the universe together

  • Just to clarify, C'thun is not dead, he was just contained, the Old Gods are parasitic creatures and have adapted to Azeroth and became part of it, therefor destroying them, would destroy Azeroth, hence why the Titans did not kill the Old Gods them selves when there are more than 5 titans compared to 5 Old Gods of Azeroth. Also, darkshore one isnt dead, really think something dead would have a shining light coming out of it? it's being contained by the weapon of the titans.

  • It isn't an Old God. Its a Faceless One in Darkshore. Its head resembles the mob in Old Kingdom and it is dead.

  • You are thinkingt about General Vezax. He is the things you describe.

    Yogg-Saron is C'thun alike.

  • YS i think is the god of the Dead and he then steals the voices of them

  • What about the titans?

  • they come later =)

  • Titans are good (only Sargeras is bad), so wht about them? xD

  • C96 Suna... you fucking idiot

C'thun is GOD OF SIGHT not tentacles...

Just wanted to flame you :)

  • C'thun = God of a thousand tentacles.

    Yogg'Saron = God of a thousand maws/faces.

Just wanted to clear that up

  • There is one in shadowmoon you moron, go look up ancient and powerful evil on wowhead.

  • Moron, that isn't an Old God, the 5 Old Gods are chained under Azeroth, now excuse me while HURR DURR at you.

  • The old gods are summoned,Nothing says they cant be summoned on a differant planet,It is a old god,Or minion of a old gods,Since Forgotten ones (c'thun i believe and the one in wc3 frozen throne) are Minions or Old gods themselves

  • "We are as infinite as the stars"

The Old Gods exist throughout the universe. Please learn your lore.

  • You read that quote wrong. By saying infinite he means without number, hence there being many more Old Gods. More than the amount of stars.

  • i guess this is what u miss when listen to music while playing wow? :P

  • he has some really huge tentacles, which vordrassil's roots (world tree in grizzly hills) grew into and wounded his tentacles. I thereby got tainted by Yogg-Saroon's blood (which is also known as saronite)

  • He's under Grizzly Hills, he's corrupting the world tree, idiot. It even says in one of the quests in Grizzly Hills.

  • he's the last boss in ulduar? how would he be under grizzly hills?

  • Old Gods are REALLY BIG
