If you're gonna buy one, get the largest one. I use it every day, sometimes for hours, they work perfectly and WACOM backs up it's products 100%. Why would you want less, the full size one is best. And while it seems trivial, that glove that some dude sells for using the Cintiq is a damn good idea. It helps.

How's the colour profiles go on these mothers?

Would you recommend an upgrade to a Cintiq. I'm studying Graphic Design.

Its really your preference. Intuos series are extremely good, and some people like those better. It is pretty awesome to be able to draw on the screen though.

I like/use both, intuos at work and cintiq at home. I like both evenly.

Try it out, and if anything bugs you, don't get it. Its one of those like-it-or-not thing. For this particular model, I highly recommend it to be an additional monitor. Too small to make it the only monitor.

hmm well maybe for my next step I'll grab a Intuos. It's a pretty big step from Wacoms cheapest to their dearest. So Intuos sounds like the step for me.

I think it's more illustrated arts and fine arts. The Cintiq that is.

IF your design in mainly laying out, text, and besier graphics you may not really need cintiq compared to more organic-art-artist, since then the brush strokes and pressure gets more important.

i would recommend you upgrade to a intuos, so you can get rid of that most ghastly, blasphemous bamboo, and save up for a cintiq... lol... and you have a 4x6... shame on you! so tiny work space, how do you get anything done. you must write on your desk on accident! haha... in all seriousness start with a intuos and work your way up. the intuos 4 is great. i have a 6x8. that size is perfect! plus it wasnt too much at about $350... the cintiqs start at roughly 1000 dollars. yowsers!

I have a Cintiq 12 wx and noticed that in Painter mostly it will lag a bit, but in Sketchbook Pro it never has a problem, very fast and a great drawing tool.

It does a tiiiny bit.

Personally, I don't really mind since its such a minuscule lag, but I do have a friend who refuses any Cintiq because of it ..should try it out in a store :)

with the intuos4 out. i believe they will announce a new cintiq model soon. There was a press conference 2 months ago regarding an improved pointer to display accuracy technology. They have already implemented it to business solutions so i believe its a matter of time before they adapt it to the new cintiq.

Does the Cintiq have to be connected to the computer to be able to Sketch? or can you sit in another room and when your done connect in to the computer later, color it and clean it up?

no wireless feature yet.

It will be awesome if that was possible; I would very much love that feature!
