  • "Do not lean out of the window. I wonder why." XD

  • PAHAHAHA, maaaan this show is wonderful.

  • I wish they had the bit where Rick loses his shit over Neil's swotting.:D

  • I love this so much! Every time I go on the train I will think of this now :)

  • 18 people leaned out the window XD

  • "bambi's a personal friend i introduced him to walt disney" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA JUST SOOO FUNNY us brits are the kings of comedy

  • it says considerably rick. You said much more widespread. Don't tell me I know this! Its 1172. Well.. what. Is it 1172 no but I didn't think it was important. What was it. You said not to tell you. Yes but I only meant for a minute. What a minute from then or a minute from now Shut up and tell me the answer What shut up AND tell you the answer Just tell me the answer!!! John is the answer
  • Im going off now to stuff loads and loads of paper down the toilet!

  • So if I were to compare this to my favorite show at the moment, I would say that Sheldon Cooper bears some parallels to Vyvyan.

  • @babymoondancer I would pay to see Vyvyan say "Bazinga" xD

  • @RyanCipelli Mike is a lot like Howard, and Neil is a lot like Raj. But Rick and Vyv both have Sheldon qualities! Rick's all prissy and annoying, and Vyv does extreme things. Who would get Leonard by default?

  • Lolol

  • i wished i had a football shaped like David Cameron's ugly tory head, it will be even funnier to kick down the street.

  • Vyvyan just made this show.

  • "'Do not lean out of the window'...Wonder why...?"

    100% Adeish line :DD

  • I'm gonna stuff loads and loads of paper down the toilet!

  • An Advertisement?! YOU BASTARDS!!

  • you took your time you bastard!

  • I've often wondered what would happen if Ben Elton wrote a series as to what happened after University - "The Slightly Older Ones" perhaps. Great pair of series well ahead of their time and launched many careers. Fascinating fact, the only reason that he show had a band was because the "Sitcom" budget had run out at the time of filming and putting a band on allowed them to call it "Light Entertainment" instead for which the budget was bigger - Totally true !!!

  • Family Guy really needs to do a parody of The Young Ones.

  • @TwelveBridges What the hell man, you thing family guy should make a shitty parody of this, wonderful comedy way ahead of its time? For fucks sake man, go back to your room and think what you said!

  • @megatoukka couldnt agree more buddy this cannot be topped in my opinion

  • @megatoukka Well, I don't know. "This is worse than that time I studied abroad in London!"

  • GREAT BRITAIN

  • Mad. Mad. Mad........and brilliantly funny.

  • YOU TOOK YOUR TIME YA' BASTARD!

  • No offence BBCWorldWide, but I don't appreciate getting halfway through a young ones clip before being interupted by a fucking "Disney sing song greatest hits" add. In other words; FUCK YOU WALT DISNEY YOU OUTSPOKEN ANTI-SEMITE BITCH!!!

  • im going to see Neil in a pantomine :)

  • fucking you tube ads

  • lol i love rik, hes bloody brilliant he is. and poor neil, everybodies punching bag hahah

  • YOU TOOK YOUR TIME, YA BASTARD!

  • "You took your time you bastard!"

  • I like it! a bit graphic but eh who 'gives a toss' as the British would say. :)

  • You took your time you bastard....Boot.Fucking brilliant

  • Nigel is so adorable.

  • Delete the fucking advertisement...we come to youtube to get away from that crap.

  • I love this show and always will.

  • I will remember this clip until my dying day...LOL!!!!

  • brilliant. just brilliant.

  • 20 years later and Rick Britton's record for being the worlds stupidest bottom burp still holds!

  • hoerenneukers

  • I love how Rik breaks the fourth wall!

  • Remember this....

  • I hate when that happens...

  • "Toxtiff" O'Grady ?? ??????

  • i don't no why every body keeps saying that theses british shows are better then American shows i mean honestly this is just abstract craziness half the time there is no motive to the whole story or 25% of the show has nothing to do with the big picture now it is humorous but i wouldn't call it classic by any mean

  • @sambluecat British comedy is better because it goes beyond the typical Hollywood "fat, loser husband with way smarter wife, screws something up and redeems himself in the end, kids say catchphrase, neighbour walks in the door unannounced and says something funny", week after week garbage.

Or half the time American TV becomes a "very special episode" and nothing is new original or funny. And whenever it is, it's canceled because suits won't give it a chance to find an audience.

  • @SpocksEvilKlone ok and

  • @SpocksEvilKlone yh,and the carrtoons there are just things with farts, reply to me pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssse!

  • @sambluecat thank god at last an american who has similar thinking i am british half irish and i totaly agree with you this was the biggest load of shit when i was growing up we didnt have a clue what this was i speak for great britian and apologize for this ,,,,err what ever it is

  • @sambluecat

Its the writing and pacing. It may be just craziness but it needs good execution in order to be funny.

  • @verystrangegeorge although i don't no if fixing thous flaws would make a giant change but i am sure it would make the show a little bit more entertaining

  • @sambluecat

Hmmm, an American saying a Brit comedy has no meaning...did you ever watch the US comedy..Soap ??

There's a Brit saying...Pot calling kettle black...seems quite relevant in this case.

  • the classic episode with the fookin original Motorhead playing Ace of Spades!!!

  • So what episode is this? i love young ones :D

  • @TheMetalification666 Bambi =)

  • thumbs up if you like the young ones better than the inbetweeners

  • @Jackass23311 It's coincidental you posted this as I only started watching clips of this great show again after virtually everyone was raving over the Inbetweeners. Sure it's funny but it's nowhere near as funny as this, kids just don't know anything these days.

  • @Jackass23311 - I love both the Young Ones and the Inbetweeners, but it's not really fair to compare the two as they are quite different in their direction.

The Young Ones is anarchic and surreal, making us laugh though madcap antics and bizarre situations which often break the fourth wall.

The Inbetweeners is more of a schadenfreude, making us laugh through observing the painful humiliation of the main characters - like seeing a 'FAIL' picture.

    Both are brilliant, just different.

  • @Jackass23311 - The young ones wins hands down.Best comedy at the time and its still funny today :)

  • @Jackass23311 Totally agree mate. "The Young Ones" has less bad language in it and the jokes are hard to figure out. Also it's about student life in Britain and the catchphrases e.g. "YOU BASTARD!!" are unforgettable. "The Inbetweeners" is just about four guys who always end up unlucky of getting a girl or having sex and the jokes are just plain obvious to figure out all, because they swear too much. Point goes to "The Young Ones"!!

  • @Jackass23311

    better than what...? lol

  • @Jackass23311 mate...thats a siily question!

  • @Jackass23311 Nice comment (-: the inbetweeners is just a copy of the Young Ones. There's just nothing original anymore!

  • @Jackass23311 classic example of a retard comparing apples to oranges.

  • @Jackass23311 The Inbetweeners is the fucking worst "comedy", ever. The Young Ones are awesome.

  • @Jackass23311 no comparison - inbetweeners is not bad but...

  • I'm goin' off now to stuff loads and loads of paper down the toilet!

  • this shows from the erley 80s

  • I love how Vyvyian always tears the bill in half and shares it with Mike when he gets money.

  • 18 dislike .. W.T.F .. it funny ok

  • class

  • This keeps getting funnier every time I see it!

  • I remember every single one of these episodes...Used to watch this show when it aired regularly 13 years ago...Best Show Ever!!!

  • Love you Vyvyan!

  • hE KICKS HIS OWN HEAD FOR CALLING HIMSELF A BASTARD lol

  • British Rail ought to do a safety advert warning kids not to lean out of train windows based on this skit. It'd be a classic!

  • Funny scene, just like I remember, but I just got the biggest laugh from :50-1:00.

    "The world's stupidest bottom-burp?"

    "It says 'Rick' here."

    *mad grab*

Totally a throwaway gag, just made me laugh like hell.

  • i remeber being about six and seeing this scean with me dad and being tottaly freaked out

  • Ade...!

    Hahahaha!

  • hahahaha great

  • This is the best show in the world...

  • hey, search "free young ones dvd" to get a free young ones series 2 dvd. only got one to give away, just give me your adress

  • I havents een this show in ages it seems, I need to get it on dvd dammit!

  • used to stay up and watch this - had a black and white tv in my bed room back then hahah

  • I miss this show. This is a prime example of

how cool Mtv was in the beginning ---when they showed the "Young Ones" .

  • XD i want vyvyans jacket so much!!

  • me too i was gunna make one but i cant get a decent pic of it =(.......

  • @DaMnMeSsEdUpKeYbOaRd Me too XD

  • SEXXXYYYYYY

  • hahahaha lol i love the young ones (Y)

  • Bambi is without a doubt the best episode of both series. You have Vyvyan losing his head, the whole university challenge skit and Alexei Sayle's rant about revolutionary biscuits (Trotsky Assortment XD)

  • A classic moment. You took your time you bastard!

    Great laughs and memories.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • What does Vyvyan's head yell on the ground before that "You took your time, you bastard" bit? It's something like "Over here! Over here.."

  • @kuusikuusikoivu

    Yeah, that's what he said

  • Yes, but what else? It sounded like "Turn my back, will ya?"

  • Not sure if that was said, but I can only here the other 2 parts clearly.

  • I think he said "Hurry up about it will ya"

  • I think he said 'Hurry up about it, will you?'

  • "over here, over here right behind my back you idiot"

  • watched this episode today

  • lol :L

  • Vyvyan kind of reminds me of Loc Dog from Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood same mannerisms

  • :D I laughed and laughed!

  • Vyvyan is the best one out of the lot, however The Young Ones would never be as brilliant if they werent altogether.

  • the young ones is a brilliant show!

  • This has got to be the funniest episode.

  • LOL You took your time you Bastard

    Young Ones = Epicness

  • I love this show. I have the old tapes of it. Oh yes.

  • to hotel mario - cool :) yeh, i've got all the old tapes too. i have tapes from i recorded it off the telly when it originally aired on MTV in the 80's. i watched those tapes so much they eventually snapped & i had to get them fixed. i also have the official videos & more currently, the DVD sets too. so yes - "I've got a video". ;) lol

this clip is one of my fave parts of this episode - esp. when Vyv kicks his own head down the train tracks. it never ceases to crack me up - even to this day.

  • @j7609 I have the official tapes by the BBC, but still. My favourite Young Ones moment is:

"NO, NO, NO, NOT THE BLOODY GOOD LIFE!"

  • @hotelmario510

That bit is awesome, mate. My favourite Young Ones moments are the Good Life rant, Vyvyan losing his head, trying to kill Rick wih that howitzer and of course...

Rick: "Why don't you like me?"

Vyvyan: "Because you're a complete bastard."

    Rick: "Vyvyan, I'm being serious."

Vyvyan: "So am I. You're a complete bastard and we all hate you."

  • @MrDCWood I like when Vyv removes the window from the wall and proceeds to smash Neil with it.

  • Yet another great bit. The whole show was just full of them.

  • Oh yeah, when Mike Thecoolguy is reading a TV mag and loads of fruit and other goods fall out:

'I never knew there was so much in it'.

  • Haha! that moment was the best!

  • @SpyroSan I know!

  • " Right commuters? " haha

  • stuped bottom burp Vivian Brrritain.

    well the book says rick.

    brilliant!

  • haha this is great

  • do not put ur head out the window

    ii wonder why :L

  • *** VIVIAN

    he's not welsh :P

  • 1:09 "Do NOT lean out of the window? I wonder why..." This is the best comedy show of all time! :D

We in Sweden are lucky because they air this show on TV4- Comedy wich is a swedish Comedy channel. :D

  • @LoggotyroX32, it's my favourite channel cause of this show is aired on there. :D

  • @GreenDayHamster

    Hell yeah. :D

  • @LoggotyroX32

    Wehey! Swedish person! x'D

I tape every episode of this. They're so wonderful. Rick is my favorite, but Vyv and Neil are both close. I haven't really gotten the hang of Mike yet, but it's coming.

  • @LabYam

    Of course, Lad. :D

"Hemma värst" (The young ones) is awesome, I'm so happy they still broadcast it. :D

  • @LoggotyroX32

Hemma Värst äger totalt. x') Förstår inte hur något kan vara så bra, men det kan det tydligen. Bomb är mitt favoritavsnitt hittills.

    "Pollution... All around!"

  • @LabYam "sometimes up, sometimes down. but always...........around."

  • Hahaha i wanna be like Vyvyan

  • One of the funniest scenes ever from a comedy show.

  • One of the funniest scenes i have ever seen on tv!! Thank God we had these guys on tv when i was young!

  • best comedy ever!

  • McDonalds can kiss my ass

  • he ripped the note in half coz vyv shared it with mike £2.50 each....defeats the purpose and thats the point really

  • the bambi one haha lol loved it haha mike steals all vivans answer!!!

  • why did vivian rip the 5 pound note in half?

  • £2.50 each

  • you can actually pay with half a 5 pound note?

  • no it just adds more randomness to this show. they do it wuite a bit through the seasons.

  • oh right, thanks.

  • @acyrox2426

Well, Mike and Vyv seem to think so.

  • THE YOUNG ONES RULES!

  • im off now 2 stuff loads an loads of paper down the toilet :P AHAHAHA xD

  • Do not lean out of the window!

    I wonder why :P

  • ok you script writers out there, TV today is missing decapitations, the formula for a succesful story includes a "punk" or these days a "chav" to lose their head... trust me, its pure gold.

  • Punks are totally different then chav, its just that this guy was thick.

  • most scary episode if you were a kid of the early '80s. Funny as now.

  • I have a friend named Craig,JUST LIKE Vivian! And he really plays guitar!

  • lol but it's Neil that plays the guitar. Vivian would probably eat one :P

  • Yep,he would!!!!Craig loves his Gibson V,though!

  • who plays neil ??

    x

  • Nigel Planer as Neil

    Adrian Edmondson as Vivian

    Rik Mayall as Rick

    Christopher Ryan as Mike

Alexei Sayle as the land lord & other nutty bits

A great cast for the odd characters on the show.

  • I like the bizarre humor of this show, but I can only take small doses of all that shouting. So only watching an episode here and there works best for me. Neil makes the show great.

  • "you took your time you basted" XDXD

  • Imbertweeners Or The Young Ones? Lol. Awesome:)

  • young ones...... although its older its alot funnier!

  • 2 diffrent but both funny

  • This is good and one where a pike axe goes into his. I forget what episode that was from but even so that was hilarious too.

  • Oil.. the episode when he takes a pickaxe to the noggin lol

  • Yes thanks I remember now its on series two, which I haven't got t the moment. I've got the first series of the Young Ones on DVD where Vivian gets that pick-axe lodged into his head.

  • like this!!!

  • This scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. But at least I never poked my head out of a train window.

  • LMAO. Mike is a tool though

  • 1:37

  • like it, its so freakin' funny

  • I have watched this scene at least 500 times in my life and I still laugh as hard as I did the first time I saw it.

  • the kings of comedy, thank you UK. america has a lot to learn about real commedy.

  • America has real comedy, but we do have a lot to learn. Well not really we it's the programmers and whats allowed, fianlly we are getting looser with prime time comedy ( no more add a cute child to a stupid failing sitcom syndrome). Thank god we have Mel Brooks!

  • agreed.

  • Yep that is good old British comedy.

  • PAUSE AT 0:40

  • Lol @ Rik's face.

  • Yesterday i had to get hold of season 1 and 2 and spent the whole day watchin them all....nice!!

  • "do not lern out of the window."

    "I wonder why?"

    *lerns out and head comesoff.*

    "AHHHHGGGH"

best part ever, the best part is I got it on DVD :D

  • rick u said ????? is a anagram for total and complete bastard

  • 'daily mirror book of facts'

  • you took ur time u barstard

    best line ever

  • Agreed.
