Hi Emma, you're lucky you had such a positive coming out experience at work. Mine wasn't so overwhelming supportive. It's been about a year now full time at my job and I finally got HR to agree to change my name in email, ID, etc... only after I did a legal name change. Although many ppl at work were supportive, I lost many friends and still feel ostracized by many co-workers. My advice to other trans is to change jobs if you can, it's soo much better to start fresh.

I am so glad that it well well coming out at work can be a scary moment. I came out at work in May and had a similar experience. HR was awesome, my coworkers were great and had no trouble with names and pronouns. On my first day I was so nervous but I came in and was greeted with a pile of emails stating how brave and happy they were for me. In hindsight I don't really know what I was so scared about.

I expect you'll get more questions, but it's good you get to educate people on an issue that is so misunderstood. I'm also sure in time your brother and father will also embrace your change. It is hard on dads, but they'll remember they love you, and you're still the same person!
