  • But can you do it blind and with only one hand?

  • @Nix6p I can do it blind folded, with one foot, both hands tied behind my back, in a snow storm.

  • This seems a lot easier to assemble than the FN SLP tac. I was thinking of getting the FN, but i think im sold on the 930 spx, cheaper, easier to clean plus its easier to remove the ammunition from the mag tube. Are the materials that this guns is constructed out of strong? Like what type of metal is it?

  • @roygbiv2411 Most modern shotguns are built like tanks due to the extremely violent recoil of 00-buck ammunition. Mossberg has been in the shotgun game for over 50 years, that being said I think their choice in materials is good to go. Aluminum, steel and polymer are all ready for shotgun shooting for many years Im sure.As for the technical details, I am sure a call to customer service will answer the specifics not covered on their website?

  • I guess I missed the fine print that said " 7+1 if you shop around and can find a brand of ammo that fits."

  • @1s1t1e1v1e1 Sorry to hear about that. Mine works flawlessly from day one. I always feel sorry when someone isnt happy with a gun purchase. Especially when there are thousands of folks who have great experience with them. Its like...what did I do to deserve this? Its not fair.

  • Have tried four kinds of ammo + received new parts from mossberg. Still only holds 6. Front sling swivel mount ine the fore grip was completely stripped out. The replacement they sent me isn't drilled out for it. 700 $ for junk. Go mossberg!!

  • @1s1t1e1v1e1 id imagine you might be able to remove one ring from the spring to allow just a hair more room in the tube. or if not a few more rings.

  • P.s. I have contacted mossberg but they "don't know why."

  • Hey, does anyone have problems loading 7(2 3/4) shells in their magazine? The 7th round won't quite fit in mine and it is making me nuts. I seem to need only 1 more mm of space for the 7th shell to lock in. ( have field stripped 4 times using different videos and instructions and everything seems to be in order)

  • @1s1t1e1v1e1 Check your ammo. Not all brands are the same size even if the numbers are the same. My video is taken word for word right from the manual if that matters?

  • Thanks for the video!!

  • @1s1t1e1v1e1 Thanks for watching.

  • thanks for the great video, very helpful, appreciated.

  • @putamatheray Glad to help.

  • Good video! Thanks for the detailed instruction.

  • Thanks for the video

  • Top notch video! Going to use this step by step to breakdown my 930! Thanks!

  • @ryt2ber Glad to be of help. I just wish I had my high definition video camera back then.

  • Where did you get the shoot gun sock at?

  • @scorpio3949 I love your accent. Shoot gun sock? The gun case was purchased at a local gun show for about $20.

  • does it have different chokes?

  • @calitovegas408 Not on the SPX model. Maybe on the field models? The SPX is a tactical shotgun so it comes with a cylinder choke only, as far as I know?

  • Is this a third gen? I've seen a few of these at my local FFL dealer but none with a pistol grip...

  • Awesome. You just saved me 2 hours of muddling around. Thx.

  • I enjoyed watching your videos, very informative & detailed. Enjoy shooting.

  • @giatayna Thanks for watching.

  • Part 1 + Part 2 = 2 GREAT VIDEOS

  • @alajreid257 Thanks for watching

  • please respond.....ive heard many good and one mixed review about the mossberg 930. I should probably give you a few details about how i wanna use this firearm.

This isn't for home defense, i already have another shotty for that. This is for fun in field and mostly target shooting. You've owned this gun for a while now....how does it feed cheap bulk ammo? Thanks.

  • @TheyxSeexMexTrollin Well every gun is unique and needs to be tested for reliability but mine has been flawless even after the 2000 round mark. And that was with mostly cheap WalMart low brass birdshot. Just clean it before you break it in.

  • The content was marvelous. You will want to work on your videography if you are going to do a lot of these reviews. Otherwise well done!

  • @sgone0 Thanks I have tried to work on my videography skills since I made this ayear ago. I now have an HD camera and I do more close ups. Thanks for watching.

  • @WardPsycho Thanks for watching.

  • that was awesome. extremely helpful.

  • @Glocking I guess I could but it only goes in one way. Its impossible to put the large end into a small hole.

  • Great video. what lubricants do you recommend and for which parts of the firearm?

  • Thank you VERY much for this video. I'm a new 930 SPX owner and this took away a lot of my anxiety about disassembly and cleaning.

  • Thanks so much for this video. Found a Mossberg today and have been doing a lot of research. You have really provided me with much needed info to make my decision to purchase this gun much easier. Again..thanks

  • I was on the fence with the 930 SPX and the SLP, after watching your videos I've decided to get the SPX. Thanks for saving me 500 bones!

  • @sevi225 Glad to help. Just make sure you clean it and oil it before you go shooting. Some models come packed with a little too much packing grease and it can cause malfunctions?

  • Semper Fi brother. Since its coming up on a year I wanted to ask how you weapon is? I do occasional trap / sporting clay shooting. I learned of the 930 series today. I see that have a 930 field/security combo. I also read about misaligned front sights on the SPX models. All in All, I think I am interested in the 930 combo. How do you fair the shooting reliability on yours. I do respect that your probably not shooting 400 rounds but wanted to ask if its holding up.

  • @wiley0714 I actually just passed 1000 rounds of flawless shooting a few weeks ago. And thats with cheap low brass bird shot from walmart. The canted sights were an issue on the first batch models from what I heard so if you get a newer model you should be ok? The field combo is probably the best bang for your buck at about $450-ish which is about right since the ghost ring sights on the SPX are valued at about $200 extra dollars which you really dont need in the grand scheme of things.

  • Thank god you posted a video on the dissassembly and reassembly of the Mossberg 930, the ony one on Youtube from what I can tell. Very enformative and thorough! Many thanks my friend.

  • Hi mixflip,

I'm not a shotgun owner, as I live in the UK and it's pretty hard to get a license to own a gun here. I do own airsoft guns and go skirmishing quite often, so I guess you could say I'm into guns!!

What I wanted to say was I liked your video because, although I can tell you are an experienced gun user, you don't come across as one of those people who think they know it all. I think you give an honest un-biased assessment and are pretty humble in your presentation. Well Done! Mark.

  • @HankDCFC Thanks for watching. I am sorry to hear about the harsh restrictions on gun ownership in the UK. Let me guess, criminals still kill law abiding citizens there right? Disarming the good people never stops crime, it only helps it. We have our share of stupid laws in the US too. As for knowing it all, I try very hard to be humble even though I have experience because I am not an expert. I am just an enthusiast. A regular guy. Can you guys carry pepper spray or a knife in the UK?

  • Great video, the gun is actually very simple! Makes using less stressful when you know that you will have to clean it later!

  • This was a terrific video and just what the doctor ordered. I just bought a 930 spx and just used it in a 2 gun. It performed better than my friends Saiga 12 which constantly jammed. I have a few questions if you don't mind.

    - I have only put 50 shells through it but have bore snaked it with hoppes. When does it need a full blown field strip and clean?

    - How long does it take you to clean your 930?

    - What solvents do you use that works best?

    - Is there a speedloader available for the 930?

  • @EnduringEagle Thanks, I always clean my guns at the end of the day out of habit but I'd bet it could go through 500 rounds easily without cleaning. The 930 is super easy to clean since there are not many parts to it and they are all big. No tiny tubes. I use Hoppes. Speedloader? I havent heard of any on the market yet?

  • Thanks for the great video. I read on Mossberg's website that all Mossberg 930 spx's have an adjustable stock, is this true?

  • @shortround63 Only adjustable with slightly angled shims, not like on an AR15 collapsible stock.

  • Good videos. I also learn better by watching the process, so this helped me out a ton. I got it disassembled and reassembled in about 45 minutes with the manual, but this makes it easier for me.

What kind of charging handle do you have? I have seen a couple aftermarket versions online, but not the one you have.

  • does aftermarket moss 500 stock fit in 930??

  • @sniper4usmc No. Due to the return spring inside the stock only stocks made for the 930 will fit. So no collapsible or folding stocks will work at this time. I am sure someone will make a collapsible stock for it in the future though. Aftermarket parts always take a while to come to market.

  • thanks for taking the time to make this video. I messed up during the field strip. My Spx wouldn't shoot anymore. I hope this will help me. Thanks again.

  • Good stuff, just got mine Inspection ready. Now all I need to find is a front sling stud for it...

  • thanx dude. awesome job. I pick my spx up in a few days. I have a regular butt stock on it but want to get the choate tactical stock. is there something I should be aware of over an ordinary pump shotgun when replacing the stock on this autoloader?

  • @mikespan You probably already know that it has a buffer tub and spring in the butt stock so a folding stock is not possible. You can buy a Benelli collapsible stock but it costs about $600? Its a rip off. Your gonna love the SPX!

  • Your right about taking pliers to the mag tube everything looks nice on my gun but where I used a rag and pliers 2 take it off XD anyway my question is my piston seal ring came out of the piston and the diagram isn't very detailed, I assume it sets flush in the front of the piston...? And also the piston is more than snug in the piston tube wonder if that was the issue with my failure to engage this last shooting trip...? It might be going back to Mossberg

  • i just bought this gun yesterday and i cant get the tube extension off for the life of me, do you think it would be safe to take put some cloth around the grip and use some pliers?

  • @dearlydeceived NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pliers!!!!

Go to Home Depot and buy a strap wrench from the plumbing dept. You will totally mess up your gun if you use pliers. Trust me I know!!!!

  • @mixflip thanks for the advice, i was able to get it off with a makeshift strap wrench, awesome video by the way

  • Thanks again! I have the SPX 930 regular stock. This is VERY helpful!

  • Excellent, very informative videos... thanks alot! Just what I needed for my new SPX 930.

  • You are gonna love it! Especially after you break it in and get to shoot cheap birdshot all day long!

  • MixFlip when you clean your mossberg 930 spx do you soak the gas pistion in a solution or just wipe it down with solvent?

  • So far I have had great results with just swabbing it with solvent then scrubbing it with a nylon brush then wiping it out clean with a cloth patches or a rag. Some Q-tips soaked in solvent in the gas ports would probably help too front time to time.

  • I just bought the 930spx as my first shotgun. Your videos really helped me make my decision between the Mossberg and the FN SLP. Your video really helps where the manual lacks. Great job!

  • Thanks for the great video. Just purchased the 930spx as my first shotgun. How often do you clean it? Another video on how to clean it would be awesome.

  • I usually clean any gun I shoot after a range day. It may not be needed on some guns because some guns and some ammo isnt as dirty as others but its just an old military habit to shoot & clean. Yo ubuild a closer understanding of your gun when you spend quality time cleaning it. Plus if it is a self defense gun...you bet your azz I keep it clean & oiled so it will go bang when I need it to. Range toys not so much.

  • Thank you for those well put together videos. I know they helped me a lot. I also learn better by seeing and the owners manual just doesnt cut it. Thanks again!

  • No problem. Its nice to help out fellow gun enthusiasts. Youtube videos helped me out with my 1911 trigger and hammer swap. I had a hard time with just the manual alone.
