@amslovely its bad to have back pressure on a turbo charged system. heres a good example. get a pinwheel and blow into it. spins nice and free right? now with the same pin wheel have your friend blow the other direction. this simulates back pressure on a turbine. the back pressure is already on the engine side via restriction from the turbine hence the largest upgrade to a turbo car is a free flowing exhaust and a cold air intake.

Removing the muffler relieves backpressure, so I lose torque but will/did gain faster turbo spool time and gain a little hp. Do some research. SRT-4's came with no mufflers out the factory. No, turbo's can run right off the downpipe. The back pressure is supplied in part by the hot side turbine, and the constant pressurization of the intake manifold. These two factors help with exhaust gas scavenging-something that is lost with no muffler on a N/A car!
I dont think you understand. ALL that was done in this video is the removal of the MUFFLER in the rear. A JT 3" has nothing that has restriction causing better smoother spool. Right now if im driving and spooling on a regular drive(not flooring) then the spool is like sssssppspssss. When i removed the muffler is got even smoother and gave me more spool faster in first gear i 1,2,3 are limited spool anyways. With the JT' it will give me great spool in 1st. if you thought this was NA its a turbo.
By the way its easy to remove. Just go to the back of the car, go underneath look where the muffler is, you will see a clamp, held to gether by to bolts remove those and remove the muffler and your on your way. but the end that is left you can get a metal wire and tie it to a metal muffler hanger so it does not rest on your brake line cuz it gets hot.

Why would you want your car to sound like that? I personally cant hear anything that sounds remotly "good". Go for the 2½" full system with 1 sound restrictor and a 3" tip. That should sound nice, i have 2½" all the way and dualpipes on my 02 9-3 aero.
yeah fanimej, this is not an "upgrade" im soon going to go JT 3" but this video is with just NO rear muffler. so going 2.5 is also weak with a tune. the 3" is turbo back and it sounds ridiculous look it up. This muffler removal is the cheapest upgrade you can get for sound. FREE. this is not the best sound quality and i agree with your comment that its hard to hear. I'll put up a video with a real video camera this was my digital camera. 2.5<<<<<<<3"

It SOUNDS AMAZING. it also relieves back pressure giving you better turbo spool a lil more hp but less torque nothing noticeable. I'll put up a better video soon with a real video camera with better sound quality. Its not stupid at all. This is the cheapest upgrade you can do, free lol. but eventually a real exhaust will be up here.

You wont have to cut out the pipe you can just remove it temporarily but loosening the clamp and taking it off. Shouldnt need cutting.
