While a boycott doesn't require it in the literal sense, Maines and the DC's always talked about the dissent against them as being organized and driven by some website or talking head. In fact, millions understood her pandering, and quit buying the DC's Cds or listening to them on the radio. It took less than a WEEK for their #1 song (driven there by controversy from Natalie's bash of TK) to fall off the charts. This was a wholesale dismissal by their ex-fan base, and no one organized it.

We KNOW who you are; a Lubbock barfly who didn't get along with anyone, but lucked into a father with some clout, and a couple of sisters who were desperate for another singer when Laura Lynch left. Given a normal working man for a father, you would be nursing a beer at whatever Lubbock bar you hadn't been thrown out of yet.

Toby Keith isn't the most popular C&W singer, but videos he's had up for less than three months have MILLIONS of views. This video has been up for just over two YEARS, and even with the controversy surrounding them, it has less than 10K. Fart videos are more visited. A little perspective brought to you, just as you imagined would happen!

I've listened to the Dixie Chicks for as long as i can remember! Country music was the first type of music i was really into and it was their songs i had stuck in my head when i was 10. For me, the Dixie Chicks are more than Country singers, or artist, they're role models, they're good people, they're.... it's really unspeakable! Time as proven they were RIGHT, LOVE the DIXIE CHICKS, I remembered watching this during the time it aired & couldn't believe the blacklash. It was unwarranted & in the end there comment didn't cost the lives of over 4500+ soldiers dying in Iraq, the over 100K + civilian deaths, the loss dreams of soldiers whose lives were cut short. Its easy to make decision when U R not sending your own child, sadly many people didn't step into the shoes of the soldiers who are no longer here to walk in them.
