Certain movie moments seem to stick out more than most. The end scene of uncle buck with this song is one of those magical moments. It makes you step outside of life for a moment... where time stands still to let you look at everything that's happened and for a few seconds you've been lifted to a higher place. It's almost supernatural.

God do I miss those days! Watched this last night with my wife and kids. I feel like my kids are going to miss out on the simple things in life. My wife, who is from Peru and had never seen this movie, said she likes it because it's so "Pure". Couldn't have said it better my Love. really wish they would make movies like this again. Such a nice song, but its kind of sad too. You know when you listen to a good song and you feel good and happy about it, but at other times when you listen to this kind of good music and take a good hard look at what the world is like now? Thats why I think its as sad as its joyess, because it makes you think of the good old days, its such a shame how the world just casts aside something so special and replaces it with bullshit. Every time I see that final scene of John Candy waving as the song ends I can't help but get that overwhelming feeling of joy but, at the same time, an undeniable feeling of sadness knowing Mr. Candy is gone. I guess that's how we know that we are connected in sharing memories and feelings and that the world is a great place.  R.I.P. John Candy. You will always be missed.

andrew 8833---John Candy appeared to be an extremely sincere individual who had the ability to make you laugh your head off one minute, and break your heart the next (the end of PT&A when he's standing in the foyer of Steve Martin's character's house after that character is reunited with his wife). He appeared to be the kind of person you'd love to have a beer with. I suggest you YouTube "Getting John Candy's Autograph". A great talent with no ego, unlike many actors today.

This guy was head and shoulders above those who carry the title "actor" today, many of whom wouldn't be fit to shine his shoes. And talk about down to earth. This, along with Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, are two of my favorites. And it's no coincidence that John Candy was in both. He was truly a comedic genius, in my opinion rivaled only by Jackie Gleason.
