I don´t belive this. It sounds far to perfect, to synthetic...It´s like something from a Vangelis or Jarre CD..I mean. If theese are sounds from animals were are all the background sounds??
A pro sitting in a mixing studio couldn´t do this any better...
Interesting. Rather than separate chirps and clicks at different frequencies as dolphins do, the seals seem to scan the entire frequency range in one long sweep at regular frequency intervals from high to low. The dolphin method seems more controlled and efficient whereas the seal method is always comprehensive.
@jlg395 - There is a crawl at the end of the video that credits Herzog and the film. I just added this information to the description, though, since you mentioned it.
I wish the author would at least have had the courtesy to note that this clip is from Werner Herzog's Encounters at the End of the World, an excellent documentary.
@Schizophonic66666666 - There is a crawl at the end of the video that credits Herzog and the film. But you won't see this if you don't watch to the end, so I added that info to the video description as well. :)
Encounters at the End of the World by Werner Herzog, really great documentary, it's more about the people who live and work in Antarctica than biology and science, very entertaining.
All the synth sounds you can hear are the seals, just amazing. People spend a fortune on vintage moog synths and these animals do it with their throats! Awesome...
